Kara's POV
New school year. Yay!
I roll my eyes as I park my ford bronco outside of Hope's house.
The short blue eyed girl comes running out with Octavia and Adora hot on her tail.
Hehehe tails.
If I said that to the three wolves faces they probably would have tried to kill me.
I hear Hope yell 'SHOTGUN!' as she hops into the passenger seat.
The brunette and the blonde grumble a greetings as they pile into my car. I smile at them and pass them their Starbucks orders.
The two girls eyes light up and they start draining their coffee.
Hope is much calmer and takes small sips of her drink as I bring the car into drive and take off towards school.
Octavia glances at the other blonde as Adora says 'Remind me again why we have to go to a new school.'
Hope rolls her eyes and takes another sip before saying 'Because Adora. Your Alpha said so' with a slight growl in her voice.
Adora flinched slightly at the growl and thankfully looked sorry. Hope sighs and says 'Look, we have been in the same area for a long time. But with change in power in our pack another is going to try and seize control. There is a powerful wolf pack growing to our south probably to do just that. We are strong enough to take them on but we shouldn't be content with what we have. We should grow and expand.'
Hope was the alpha of our pack. She is the youngest we have ever had. Our last alpha became corrupt about a year ago and Hope challenged him. Won. And banned him from our territory.
Octavia is is training to be her second in command, Adora is her head strategist, and I am in charge of training the wolves.
It still surprises me that Hope allowed me to be in charge of training. I mean I wasn't born into this pack.
My pack got slaughtered when I was 13 in a rogue vampire attack. We were considered the top pack of the country tied with the Daxam pack but both got destroyed in the attack.
All decedents were considered whipped out. If the original attack hadn't gotten everyone the bounty going around for any Kryptonian or Daxam werewolves heads put out by the head rogue Lex Luthor did.
Kryptonian's are like most wolves but we are slightly more evolved. We are faster, stronger, and have better senses then other wolves who already have increased senses. Everyone has- had. One sense that was even stronger.
If your vision was increased you could see through walls and for miles in any direction.
If your hearing was increased. Well let's just say I have increased hearing and it gets extremely over whelming.
And so on. You get the point.
My adoptive parents found me half dead in a ditch and saved me hiding my identity from everyone. Hope obviously learned about it when she became alpha but everyone just thinks I was a lone wolf in need of a new pack.
My adoptive sister, Alex is insanely protective of me as well as everyone in the pack. She is currently teaching Octavia to be Hope's new beta. Because Alex was technically the last Alpha's beta so she can't be Hope's but until Octavia is ready she is standing in for the position.
Adora is tapping her fingers to the music as we pull into the parking lot. Octavia just finished her drink as she says 'Korra and Lexa are meeting us there right?'
Hope nods as I pull into the parking lot.
I pass Hope her her second coffee as we get out of the car and start walking toward the school.
She smiles at me and takes another long sip.
Hope leads us to the office as Adora throws out her and Octavia's garbage before jogging to catch up.
__Time Skip___
The day is going by insanely slowly.
Like my brain feels fried.
Thank god it is finally lunch.
I walk into the cafeteria.
I pause in the doorway and close my eyes and take a deep breath as I focus on Korra's heartbeat from her spot next to me.
She rests her hand on my shoulder as she says 'You okay Kara?'
I nod as I reopen my eyes and head toward the line.
She follows after me as I say 'Totally fine. I am just tired.'
Korra gives me an understanding smile as she says 'Well lunch isn't over for a bit and we are meeting the pack outside. You can find a shady tree and nap for a while. I will make sure we wake you up before our next class'
I smile thankfully at her as we grab our food and head outside to where Hope told us everyone was meeting up.
When we finally have them in our sights Korra jogs up to them and plops down next to Adora as they start talking about their classes.
I feel my phone buzz from my back pocket.
I pull out and smile at the message
From Alex <3:
Hey Kar! Hope you are enjoying the new school! Nothing to overwhelming right?
To Alex: Hey Alex, it is boring! I know most of the stuff they are teaching. It is bigger then our other school so more voices but I am taking your advice and just focusing on Korra or Hope's heart beat. It helps a lot.
From Alex:
I am glad! It has to be around lunch time for you. Go eat I know you are probably starving. You can tell me all about your day when you get home.
I smile and click my phone off as I sit next to Hope.
She glances at me with a worried eyebrow raised as she says 'Everything okay Kar?'
I nod and take a bite of a potsticker before I say 'Yah, you know me, not the biggest fan of big crowds. The cafeteria was more crowded then I expected.'
She gives me an understanding smile as she gives me one of her potstickers.
I give her my brightest smile as I quickly eat it.
I focus on Hope's heartbeat as the noises of the animals around us get loud.
Octavia smiles at our group as she says 'What class does everyone have next?'
Time Skip to 2 weeks later
We all finally got back to the pack house.
Different members were milling around. Some of the younger members where playing video games in the game room while some where cooking a big dinner for everyone.
Hope walks into the kitchen to get a report from Alex who was sitting with the people cooking.
Lexa, Octavia, and Korra walk to my room with me for homework time.
We all pile into my room and Octavia grabs a seat at the desk Korra lays on my bed and Lexa sits on the ground with me next to her.
Hope comes into the room a couple minutes later.
We all spend an hour working on homework when I hear some rustling a couple miles away.
I quickly stand while walking toward the window. Octavia's head bangs on the ground. She had been resting her head in my lap while reading for English class.
Hope raises a concerned eyebrow as she says 'Kara what is it?'
I raise a finger to silence the questions probably dying to get out of their mouthes.
I open the window and stick my head out as I close my eyes and focus on the rustling.
The footsteps are too light to be our wolves on patrol and the wolves are 3 miles to their south at the moment.
My eyebrows furrow as I pay more attention to that area. There were 5 sets of light footsteps. They were moving quickly towards our location.
My eyes widen at the speed these things were moving. I quickly jump out of my second story window.
Landing a little awkwardly, I roll once before shifting into my wolf form and taking off in the direction of the noise.
It doesn't take me long to meet the 6 things moving into our territory.
I ignore Hope and the others trying to mind link me.
I see 6 people walking into a clearing slowing down slightly when they weren't covered by the trees.
I step out into the clearing and start growling at them.
Their eyes widen as I slowly walk toward them.
It only takes a matter of seconds before one shakes off their shock and charges me.
I quickly bat the brunette to the side into a tree but she scratched my face pretty badly.
My wolf closes one eye because of the cut.
I keep growling but at this point the others run into the clearing.
Octavia's eyes widen and she shifts quickly and is by my side with a ferocious look on her wolfs face.
Hope steps in between our wolves as she says 'You know it's an act of war to enter a pack territory without an invitation? Who the hell are you?'
Their eyes widen and they quickly hold up their hands in a show of peace as the tallest raven haired girl says 'We are sorry! We didn't realize this was a pack territory. We mean no harm.'
Hope's eyes flash yellow in warning as she says 'Alrighty but I can have this place swarming with wolves in a matter of seconds if you are lying'
They nod as Hope passes Octavia and I both a change of clothes as she points to the tree line.
I grab the clothes between my jaws and walk toward the trees.
I could see worry on Alex's eyes as she follows my form.
I can hear her mind link someone to bring her bandages for my eye and the other girl.
It doesn't take me or Octavia long to shift back and change into the clothes.
I walk up to Hope and Lexa's side who were starring down the 6 other girls as I put a hand over my bleeding cut.
I could feel the awkward tension as Alex patches up the girl.
I clear my throat and Alex quickly moves to my side and starts patching me up.
I smile gently at her as I say 'I am okay Alex don't worry.'
She looks worried so I give her arm a light squeeze before turning toward the other group.
I raise my non hurt eyebrow and say 'What on earth lead you guys to come into our pack territory?'
A blonde haired girl raised her eyebrow back as she says 'How do you know we aren't humans?'
I point at their chests and say 'No heartbeats'
A girl with two different colored eyes steps forward and says 'Look we got thrown out of our vampire coven a couple months ago. Well actually we left, they were turning into a rogue group being lead by the Rogue prince. We wanted nothing to do with them anymore so we have been searching for a pack to find refuge with... We heard their was a powerful pack in this area we weren't exactly sure where and thats when we meet blondie over there'
Hope nods her understanding and says 'If you truly want to join our pack you will have to swear fealty to us and submit to me as your alpha.'
They glance at each other and say 'We are willing to do that.'
Hope nods and says 'In that case. Kara will be training you all to get an understanding of your abilities. Once you have officially been sworn into the pack and received your tattoos you can start patrols once Kara gives you the okay.'
One of the green eyed girls says 'And which of you is Kara?'
I step forward and offer my hand to the group as I say 'I am. Welcome to the pack.'
They all walk forward and offer me their hands one at a time.
The two different colored eyed girl is first she gives me a small smile as she says 'I am Catra.'
Next was the taller of the two raven haired girls 'Asami. Nice too meet you.'
The brunette who scratched me looks sorry as she takes my hand as she says 'I am Raven and I am sorry about your eye. I was just trying to protect my friends.'
I give her a smile as I say 'Don't worry about it I was just doing the same thing. No hard feelings?'
She nods as I shake the last brunette's hand who introduced herself as 'Josie.' after the blonde introduces herself as 'Clarke'
Last is the other raven haired girl she has piercing green eyes. She offers me her hand as she says 'Lena. Nice to meet you ocean eyes.'
I take her hand and immediately feel searing pain shoot up through my body before focusing all of the pain into my shoulder.
I fall too the ground screaming in pain as I clutch my shoulder.
Hope's POV
My eyes widen when I hear Kara scream out in pain.
I run up too my best friend and kneel at her side as I see her shaking from the pain.
I growl up and flash my eyes at the girl as I say 'What did you do?'
Alex was next to me in an instant placing her squirming sisters head in her lap trying to relieve some of the pain from the struggling blonde.
The girl looked just as confused and worried as we do.
She drops to her knees as she says 'I am not sure I felt this spark of electricity when she grabbed my hand and then she just screamed. I wouldn't hurt her or any of you.'
My eyes widen remembering something I read.
I grab Kara's left shirt sleeve and rip it open as Korra says 'What is happening to her Hope?'
I inspect her skin as I finally see the medium sized S on the inside of her arm.
I lift her arm and show it too Alex.
Her eyes widen as she says 'Lena come here now.'
The girl's eyes widen and she does as asked.
I grab her hand and lace it with Kara's.
The pain seems to lessen as Kara's breathing slowly evens out.
I release the breath I didn't realize I was holding.
Lena is stroking the back of Kara's hand as she says 'What was that?'
Asami nods her agreement as she sits next to her friend resting a supporting hand on her shoulder.
I glance at Alex and nod at her to explain. If Lena is who I think she is they will have too find out eventually.
Alex releases a breath before saying 'Do you guys know about the Kryptonian massacre?'
Lena's eyes widen before I see sadness cross her eyes as she says 'Unfortunately I do. My family are the ones responsible for it. I ran away before it happened but, the fact that I even share genetic material with them disgusts me more everyday.'
All of our eyes widen at the admission before Alex continues 'Well Kara is the last surviving Kryptonian that we know of'
Everyone gasps around us except Korra.
Catra raises an eyebrow at our group and says 'Why are they surprised isn't she your friend?'
I nod and say 'They are but because of the bounty on Kryptonian wolves heads she had to keep it a secret from everyone. Our last Alpha didn't know because their mother didn't trust him. Rightfully so. But Kara and Alex trusted me enough to tell me. I am not sure why Korra isn't surprised.'
Korra shrugs and says 'I guessed. Kara was always sensitive too loud noises more then other wolves. I did some research and the only thing that made sense was her being Kryptonian. That and Kara never talked about her past.'
They nod their understanding before Lena says 'What does that have to do with me and her reaction to touching me?'
Alex answers her this time 'Kryptonian lore says that someone from their pack would save the world. Shortly after finding their soul mate. When they find each other their connection will be electric and a scar will appear where ever the pain is the worst. Kara was grabbing her arm so I am guessing Hope guessed on the area where it would be. We both thought it was just a myth but apparently it isn't and you are her soulmate'
Kara sits up at that moment and pulls Lena into a hug as she says 'Guess you are stuck with me Lena'
Lena pulls away from the hug while resting their foreheads against each other as she says 'I think I can live with that.'
