it's been a week and lev was a little surprised you still hadn't noticed your hatbox was missing. he was getting a little tired of having to hide it in the most random places.
some of those places included his closet, his pile of clothes, his volleyball bag, under his volleyball practice clothes, and then under his bed. he moved it around so often in fear you'd find it and then end his life before he could become nekoma's ace.
as he walked to school with you and momo, all he could hope for were two things.
1. hope you wouldn't find the hatbox in his possession and then proceed to end his life for touching your stuff
and 2. hope you wouldn't bully him to the point where he loses it and mails out the letter that are inside the box.
oh yeah, he read the letters and he found out all about your crushes on akaashi, that dude from kindergarten, and kenma.
the letter for kenma was pure gold to him. he never knew you held those feelings for his upperclassman and he never knew you held those feelings for akaashi.
to him, this was perfect blackmail material without actually telling you he had blackmail material. it's like he held all the power over you.
"lev, hurry up. as much as you annoy me, i don't want you to be late to school today. mostly cause alisa would kill me." he heard you say.
he didn't even notice how slow he was walking until he saw that you and momo were way ahead of him and he had the longest legs. you three had finally arrived at his school.
"all right you know the drill, text me after practice so we can go get our food. our parents are still in seoul and alisa is planning on studying tonight." he gave you a thumbs up and ran inside the gym.
"LEV! LATE TO PRACTICE AGAIN?" yaku yelled at him when he entered the gym.
"yaku-san, i'm sorry. my sister was taking forever to get ready this morning and she made me late." he hoped yaku would accept his excuse but he didn't.
"lev, i've met both of your sisters and i know for a fact that's not true. try again. now go get changed and then go work on your receives."
as soon as he heard the word receives come out of yaku's mouth he started having war flashbacks. he hated receives. kuroo and yaku would work him to the point where he's just dead on the floor.
kenma got a good laugh out of it though. until he remembered after receives, it was his turn to set to lev and make sure he could spike it.
it never really worked out the first few fifteen tries. luckily, practice had run a little quicker than usual today so he only had to set to lev ten times today.
"all right, we'll work on your spikes after school. just go to class now." lev quickly nodded to kenma and changed back into his school uniform before dashing to his classroom.
end of the day
it was the end of day and lev had to go to after school practice. he always wondered what you did while he was at practice. you only had one friend and that was momo. and then again, she had dance practice most of the time.
but as soon as he entered the gym after changing into his practice clothes he saw you sitting on the bleachers, talking to kuroo.
"lev, your sister's gonna be joining us this practice. so, have fun with that." kuroo said to him as he walked over the coach nekomata.
"n/n, what are you doing here?"
"momo had dance practice again and i didn't feel like studying so i thought 'hey, why not visit my annoying little brother at volleyball practice and see what he does?' so here i am." you said with a big grin on your face.
truth be told, lev was a little scared of you being in practice. for one, he had assumed you still loved kenma, so he had also assumed you were only there for him.
secondly, if you weren't here for kenma, then you were here for him. and that scared him a little more than if you were just here for kenma, because if you were here for him, then you'd see how bad he his at receives.
he just hoped it wouldn't come to that point. but unfortunately, they were doing three-on-three games today.
the teams were as listed:
team one: kenma, lev, and yaku and then
team two: kuroo, yamamoto, and shibayama
as they played, he looked over at you and saw that you were watching him with a thumbs up. he felt pretty confident, until he had to receive a ball yamamoto spiked from kuroo. that's when he stumbled and fell on his face.
and that's when you bursted out laughing. you were laughing so hard that tears were coming out of your eyes. the rest of the team kind of snickered, even the coaches.
lev had never been more embarrassed in his life. his face was red but he had to continue with the match. you had calmed down from your laughing fit and had continued to watch.
an hour had passed and practice had ended, lev changed back into his uniform, and said goodbye to his teammates as he walked over to you and exited the gym.
lev didn't talk to you the whole time you two walked over to the ramen restaurant you two planned on eating at. he was still mad at you for laughing at him.
lev was sensitive about his volleyball skills. he had expected you to tell him to shake it off, not laugh.
you two had entered the restaurant and sat down at an available table looking at the menu, even though you two already knew what you wanted to order. you were looking purely for the appetizers.
you two had decided on chicken potstickers, a bowl of pork miso ramen for you, and a curry chicken ramen for lev.
he still hadn't talked to you. he was sulking. a bad habit he had since he was three and you had stolen one of his dino nuggets from him. so you two ate in silence, and then walked home in silence.
when you two arrived home, he went straight to his room and closed his door. he sat on his bed for five minutes before standing up and looking for your hatbox.
he took the letters out and put them in his pocket. he quickly walked over to your room and opened your door to see you doing your homework for the day.
"hey n/n, i'll be back. i'm going to the store real quick." you nodded and continued on your homework.
lev left the house and started walking to the direction of the nearest mailbox. today was his breaking point with you and your teasing so he decided to do what he had hoped would teach you to not mess with him again.
he decided to send the letters.
a petty move? sure, but when lev was sulking he had no common sense. he took a deep breath and slipped the letters in the mailbox.
a/n: and the mystery sender of the letters is none other than your little brother LEV! i think it's gonna get a little more dramatic after this chapter. see you all on the next chapter 💘💘💘
