FORKS, WASHINGTON
ANNAS ROOM
It was a gloomy and rainy day in Forks, like always. Anna Stanley sat in her window looking out into the forest with a book in her lap. She had been reading, well trying to anyways, when she lost focus (again)she was supposed to go shopping with her older twin sister, Jessica, and their friend Isabella Swan, but honestly Anna didn't have the energy nor want to do so, she didn't with anything lately, everything she used to love had kind of gotten lost in questions about the meaning of life, leading to where she was now.
Anna sat in the window holding her knees close and resting her head on them, while rocking back and forth, trying to provide herself with some comfort from the deep darkness that had taken over her mind.
She was so preoccupied with thinking she didn't even hear the Bell ring or her sister calling her name, in fact she didn't hear anything until her door was slammed open, making her jump down from the window still and drop her book on the floor "didn't you hear me call?" Jessica said in her usual high pitched voice that hurt Annas tired and sensitive ears. She wanted to snap at Jessica for banging the door open so violently, and giving her such a shock, but she was too exhausted for an other argument, she had enough of them when Jessica bickered with their mom over nothing special, so she simply nodded while picking up the stuff she had dropped, Jessica put her head slightly to the side, it was obvious her sister was getting worse and she couldn't understand why.
Anna was everything she wanted to be and more, and yet Jessica heard her cry herself to sleep, she was left behind when Anna got hospitalized yet again, and she would lie in her bed holding her ears silently sobbing as Anna sat in the room just besides hers in their mothers arms, having another psychosis and screaming about how she wanted to die, none the less she sympathized with her twin, after all Jessica cared more about Anna than she did about anyone and she just wished Anna could see that.
"Bella's here" she muttered after looking at Anna for a while, Jessica sounded slightly upset and Anna knew it was her fault, she was ashamed of herself, ashamed of feeling the way she did when she had such a loving family, and nice friends such as Bella, Angela and even Jessica herself, but she just couldn't help it, she couldn't help the loneliness, the extreme sadness, and the odd fascination with dying.
SOMEWHERE IN PORT-ANGELES, WASHINGTON
The movie was horrible. Absolutely terrible. Anna was completely disgusted and didn't really know what to say, luckily for her though she didn't have to say anything because Jessica had plenty to get off of her chest "I don't know why you wanna sit through all those zombies eating people and no hot guys kissing anybody" she started "yeah it's gross" Anna agreed nodding along with her sisters statement, she wasn't a sucker for romance like Jessica, but a good comedy to get rid of all her nasty thoughts for a while wouldn't have hurt, and she figured it'd be good for Bella as well "Like, why are there that many zombie movies anyway? 'Cause if it's supposed to, like, draw a parallel about leprosy, our cousin had leprosy, ok it's not funny, you know? And, like, is it supposed to be a metaphor for consumerism? Because don't be so pleased with your own, like, self-referential cleverness? Like, some girls like to shop. Not all girls, apparently" Jessica ranted Anna zoned out halfway through too used to Jessicas rather obnoxious talking, she had a lot to say, and Anna was sure she had good things to say too, they just got drowned out in all the insignificant stuff that came out the girls mouth
"We were glad you called Bella" Anna interrupted "I know... We know that you're going through a rough time, but I understand, probably more than you know, anyways we're happy to help you get out of the house if you ever need it" she continued smiling up at the slightly taller girl, like always Annas kindness and calm surprised Bella, she hadn't expected anyone to say they understood and actually sound genuine, but Anna did, and it made Bella wonder what the girl meant when she said she understood more than Bella knew, but she decided to drop it as Jessica started again "yeah totally I mean I'm going through stuff too, Mike said he just wanted to be friends, and it's hard..." She said trying to sound as perfect as her sister, but somehow it was harder than Anna made it seem to always be so understanding and compassionate.
After a while of chit chatting the girls passed an alley, and Bella looked down at a gang of sort sitting down there with their motorcycles, and she seemingly spaced out, all of a sudden she jumped back as if she had seen something dangerous in front of her "dude c'mon" Jessica scoffed looking oddly at Bella, Anna felt a bit bad at Jessicas attitude, she wished she had said something first. However before she had time to hit herself in the head over her mistake Bella decided to answer Jessica. First she sent a look down the alley, and then she told them she thought she knew the guys that sat down there "they don't seem very nice" Anna said nervously, she was frightened by being so close to those people even if the girls were on a rather crowded street "what do you mean Anna, they seem great" Jessica said in a sarcastic tone, to which Anna slightly snickered, "can we go?" Jessica continued.
"I'm just gonna see something" Bella said before walking fast towards the group of bikers, who instantly began catcalling the girl, she stopped halfway there, and Anna had hope for second that she might turn around, but after standing still for a second Bella continued walking towards the men. Before Anna and Jessica knew it, Bella jumped behind one of the men on his motorcycle, and the pair drove quick out of the alley, and past, the girls who both stood with open mouthes and wide eyes feeling completely flabbergasted at the Swan girls recklessness, Anna knew what it meant to have a death wish, and could empathize with that, but this was clearly something else far beyond the girls understanding.
Bella came walking towards The two gobsmacked girls and Jessica instantly started scolding the girl "hey what the hell is wrong with you? just curious" and for once Anna didn't feel bad at her sisters rudeness, honestly she felt it was need considering how serious the situation was "I just thought I saw something" Bella muttered "Bella that doesn't sound that good, are you sure you shouldn't get some help maybe?" Anna whispered, too scared to properly speak "god that was such a rush" Bella just said completely ignoring Anna, she wasn't surprised though, even if it was with good intentions asking someone if they should get help, can only come off as rude, and no one would know that better than Anna who had heard that exact sentence uncountable times "awesome so you're an adrenaline junkie now, that's cool, you can go bungee jump, but you don't get on the back of some random losers motorcycle" Jessica said with a slightly raised and clearly very annoyed voice.
After that night spend with Bella it was clear to Anna that the girl had changed, this wasn't the Bella she had first met all those months ago, no this girl was very different, and although Anna related to how pain could change a person, she wasn't certain that this was for the better.
