some say they are now more silent since the most terrible and traumatic mass torture that happened 2 years ago

I just came back from the woods after hunting but only to catch nothing, but as I was walking back I heard yells and screams come from the village, apparently
the 'rebels' murdered one of the guards who had abused and killed a woman who stole some food from the man
this lady was one of the wives of the rebels leaders, the man was devastated, as angry as can be he gathered the rebels together and stormed to the vampire's house
there they pulled him out of his bed and made him sit on his knees, although they wanted to torture him to death, everyone knew it wasn't a good idea to go as low as that the vampires had previously done
because you always gotta make sure you are smarter than that
so they shot the man
the king was furious after hearing the news and kidnapped 15 men to set them on the village square where they were brutally tortured for more than 5 hours, some of them didn't make it out alive...
after his incident, it was silent
but
a bit too silent
because I know, that they are still protesting and making a plan to fight against the system, and my speculations were confirmed when I saw the familiar flower painted on the streets a couple of months ago
I could not explain how hopefully and happy I was, not only me, Everyone, kids were finally smiling and adults had gotten their hope back, life seemed to get its colour back...
and as I was daydreaming and thinking about what happened a firm knock on the door made me snap back to reality
¨ come in ¨ I said as sweetly as I could although I was still a bit dreamy because of thinking so much
the door opened revealing the nice maid but this time with a bright smile on her face and 2 dresses in her hands
¨hello Aya ¨ she said as she formally bowed, I quickly stood up and told her that it wasn't necessary
she chuckled a bit before laying the 2 gorgeous dresses on my bed
however, I was a bit confused.... are we going to have another task? the smiling woman seemed to notice my confusion as she sighed but kept her smile on her face
¨ Aya, tonight the last 3 standing have to give a speech for the kingdom, this way the people can see whom their possible future queen can be and how she is like, although I know that most people should already know you by now¨ she said with a little sly smile as I got her little joke
