you had just gotten back from your two week summer break away from school. were you still bitter that you didn't get into nekoma for high school? yeah, just a little bit. you missed being around kenma and kuroo like in your middle school days. your little brother, lev got into nekoma, yet you didn't. you instead got into fukurodani academy.
but, at least you met your best friend there, momo hirai. she was a dancing machine who was overprotective over you, probably more than alisa...probably. but you loved her either way. unfortunately for you, akaashi also got into fukurodani.
you haven't seen him since you graduated elementary school. from what you heard last year, akaashi was still dating his middle school sweetheart, he's the setter of your school's volleyball club, and in class 6. honestly, his girlfriend was kind of a bitch. she would always try to trip you or insult your outfit even though you're wearing the same uniform.
did you care? no, not really. you've reached the point in life where you didn't really care about what people thought of you, you got that from kenma. right now, you were walking with lev and momo to your respective schools. lev was being a little more annoying this morning.
"LEV, OH MY GOD SHUT UP ALREADY!" you yelled at him as he was ranting about some assignment he didn't do.
"n/nnnnnn, why are you so mean to me?" lev pouted.
"lev, please stop talking. you're being extra annoying this morning. now shut up before i clock you." you snapped back at him.
he simply laughed and mumbled something under his breath that you didn't hear. finally after what felt like hours, you had arrived at nekoma.
"all right lev, text me when you're done with volleyball practice"
he nodded and then ran into his school while you and momo continued your walk to fukurodani. "f/n, don't you think you should be a little more nicer to lev. i mean, he is your little brother." momo said to you.
you thought for a minute about what she said. "no, he's annoying. he deserves to know his place." momo laughed as you two continued to walk to school.
you two had finally arrived. you two changed into your indoor shoes and walked to your class, class 2-5. as you two were walking, you bumped into someone. unfortunately for you, it was akaashi's girlfriend, mai.
"excuse you. watch where you're going. oh wait...it's just you."
"yeah...it's just me. i'll watch better next time, mai." you told her as she looked you up and down, with a look of disgust.
"nice hair, haiba-chan. little piece of advice though, you might want to brush your hair next time so you don't look hideous." she crossed her arms.
you were about to respond when you were interrupted by akaashi. you hadn't seen him in years, and wow he got prettier if that's even possible.
'is that even fair how he got a glow up and when he didn't need one?' you said in your head.
"hey mai, what's happening here?" he asked mai as he kissed her on the cheek.
"oh nothing, i was just complimenting haiba-chan on her beautiful hairstyle. come on, i don't want to be here anymore. byeee." mai said as she walked off.
"hey, haiba-san...long time no see. sorry about mai, she's always like this."
you nodded and opened your mouth to say something to him when momo interrupted you.
"akaashi-san, i see mai looking at you with a look that could kill. you might want to calm your demon spawn of a girlfriend. we'll be on our way." and with that she grabbed your hand and lead you both towards your classroom.
'seriously, what is up with me and getting interrupted today. can i not speak today?' you thought as momo lead you into the class.
"momo, i mean this in the nicest way possible...for the love of god, LET ME SPEAK!" you told her as you sat down at your desk, pouting slightly.
she giggled and kneeled next to you, holding your hands. "f/n, i promise you, i will never, never, ever interrupt you again." you looked at her like she was crazy as she stood up and sat down at her desk.
time skip to the end of the day
it was finally the end of the day, and thank god it was. your english teacher had decided today was the day to have a pop quiz. you couldn't study for it seeing as it was a pop quiz, so you probably failed it. now you're here, walking with lev since momo had dance practice.
"lev, i'm telling you this because i love you, for the love of god PLEASE use deodorant after practice. you smell."
"funny, you never say that to kenma-san. and he smells worse than me after practice." lev shot back. your face started burning at the mention of kenma. you simply flipped lev off and continued your walk back home.
"ALISA! WE'RE HOME!" you and lev yelled as you took your guys' shoes off and put your slippers on.
"Levochka! n/n! welcome back loves! how was school today?" she asked in a sweet tone.
"eh it was fine, i had a pop quiz today for english, i'm 100% sure i failed it. also, alisa, please tell lev to shower. his smell is making my head hurt." alisa giggled and told lev to go shower, threatening him no dinner if he didn't.
he pouted all the way upstairs as you laughed. you thanked alisa and went upstairs to your room. your encounter with akaashi today had reminded you of your love letter that you wrote. you could barely read it since you wrote it when you were six. so you rewrote it when your handwriting got better so it could be legible for you.
you changed out your uniform into a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie. you went into your closet and pulled your hatbox out. you sat down on your bed and opened it up and grabbed akaashi's letter.
as you read it, you didn't hear alisa calling you and lev for help setting the table. you were too engrossed in this letter you wrote for him. while you were reading, you felt something hit your head. unsurprisingly, it was lev throwing a pillow at your head.
"lev! what the fuck dude? you couldn't have done that any other way?"
"noPe! anyway, alisa asked for our help downstairs so, come downstairs." lev walked away as you put the letter back in the box and walked downstairs. unfortunately for you, you didn't put it back in the closet or even attempt at burying it under a pile of clothes.
"hey, alisa? where'd our parents go?" you asked her as you helped her set the plates. you don't know why you asked her, they were rarely here to begin with.
"they left for seoul today, something about a photoshoot and business meetings."
you nodded as you sat down, said thanks for the meal and began eating. after eating and cleaning up the table and dishes, you all sat down on the couch for your weekly movie night. today was lev's pick and he ended up choosing finding nemo...again.
you and alisa ended up falling asleep on the couch, bad idea.
lev looked over at you and alisa sleeping. he waved his hand in front of your face and then blew air in your face to make sure you were asleep. he quickly went up the stairs. he saw you reading something when he hit you with the pillow and lev being nosy decided to do some poking around in your room.
as he entered your door he started to say to himself "if i was a secret letter, where would i be?" he kept searching your room for what you were reading when he found your hat box.
in all honesty, lev was tired of you always picking on him just because he was younger, by a year. he opened the hat box and saw the letters. one for akaashi, one for that boy in kindergarten, and one for kenma. he snickered to himself as he took the hatbox and scurried off to his room.
