3 years later.
I'm now standing on the veranda in the backyard.
3 years have passed since the kids were born.
Everything has been peaceful and nice.
"Mommy!" I heard two small squeaks from behind me.
I turned around and saw Felix and Faine standing there hugging dinosaur plushies and holding each other's hands.
They're only 3 years old but they're already as big as the other 6 year olds in the pack.
"Hey babies. When did you wake up?" I knelt to match their eye level.
"Just now!" They both yelled at the same time.
I smiled warmly.
"Where's Falynn?" I looked behind them.
"Don't know. Can't find." They said worriedly.
I frowned.
I heightened my senses and tried to find her.
But i couldn't sense her anywhere in the pack house.
My worry increased tenfold.
Pha! I yelled through the mindlink.
What? What happened? He responded immediately.
I can't find Falynn! She's not in the pack house!
WHAT?! WHERE ARE THE OTHER TWO?!
They're here with me. But they don't know where she is.
Ok we'll find her. You take care of Felix and Faine. He said quickly.
I could feel his worry as well.
Where could she have gone? Kai mumbled worriedly.
I don't know.....
"Come on let's go inside." I lifted Faine and Felix up.
We went inside.
Beam, Yo, Ming and Kit came running.
"You can't find Falynn?" Kit asked frantically.
I nodded. "She's nowhere in the packhouse."
Tears formed in my eyes.
Where are you baby?
"She might have wandered outside. I'm sure she wouldn't have gone far." Beam said.
The others nodded.
"Here. Take them. I'll go look." I gave Felix and Faine to Yo and Beam.
I used apportion and appeared in the sky right above the packhouse.
I scanned the woods surrounding the packhouse trying to find her.
"Mommy!" I suddenly heard her voice.
I snapped my head back.
I blinked profusely.
She was floating in the air.
There was gold dust around her.
Wait is that mana?? Is she using mana?? Kai mumbled unbelieving.
"Baby when did you learn how to do this?" I asked slowly.
"Falynn watched mommy do it and tried to do it by herself. Falynn finally did it today!" She came closer to me and smiled widely.
My jaw hung low.
Forth? Did you find her? Pha asked through the mindlink.
Yeah.....
Where is she?
She's in the air right above the packhouse.....
......... In-in the air???
Yeah come to the terrace you'll see.
"Why didn't you tell me or anyone else before coming out here? We were really worried when we couldn't find you in the packhouse." I hugged her tightly.
"Sorry. Falynn got too excited and forgot to tell mommy." She also hugged me.
Just then the terrace door opened and mom, dad, Pha, Ming, Kit, Beam and Yo came out.
I slowly let go of Falynn.
"Look. You worried Faine and Felix even." I pointed at Faine and Felix who were in Beam and Yo's arms. They had tears in their eyes.
She slowly went down and landed on the floor. I followed close behind.
All of their jaws were hanging low.
Faine and Felix tried to squirm out of Beam and Yo's arms.
They knelt down and let them go.
They ran to her and hugged her tightly.
"Falynn is sorry for making everyone worry..." She hugged them and mumbled guiltily.
"You can already use mana?" Pha asked slowly.
She smiled widely and nodded.
"Aura taught me!"
We all frowned.
"Aura?" I asked.
"Hm! My wolfie!" She said excitedly.
We raised our eyebrows.
"She's very cute!" She added.
No i'm not cute!
I heard an unfamiliar voice through the mindlink.
Judging by how the others also look taken aback they heard her as well.
You're Falynn's wolf? I asked.
Yes. My name is Aura. As she just told you. She answered.
You can already communicate with her?
She's half god AND an alpha. Don't tell me you weren't expecting something like this. She said unamused.
"You have a point..." I scratched my head.
Oh and by the way Faine and Felix can also talk to their wolves. She added calmly.
My eyes widened and i looked at them.
"You can also talk to your wolves?" I asked Faine and Felix.
They slowly nodded.
"Why didn't you tell us?" I knelt down.
"They said we should surprise you." Felix said.
"Surprise?" Pha approached us.
You'll find out later. Not now. I heard Aura's voice.
I slowly nodded.
"But don't just come out on your own without telling anyone." I said.
Falynn nodded.
"Now come on. It's almost lunchtime." Mom spoke up.
I lifted up Falynn and Pha took Faine and Felix.
We headed inside together.
The next day when i went into their room after taking a shower, they weren't there.
Again? Seriously? And Faine and Felix joined in as well this time? Kai muttered exasperated.
I heightened my senses.
They were in the backyard.
Pha the kids are in the backyard. I'll meet you there. I said through the mindlink.
He was in the shower.
Ok. He repsonded.
I went out into the backyard.
Their clothes were on the chairs on the veranda.
I blinked profusely.
Do you think they....
Just then i noticed three small furballs rolling around on the grass.
"Faine? Felix? Falynn?" I called out.
They got up and looked at me.
Woah.....
Falynn's wolf - Aura - was a black one just like Zen but had gold eyes.
Felix's wolf was a white one with dashes of black on random spots. One of his eyes was silver and the other was golden.
Faine's wolf was a white one just like Kai but his eyes were silver.
I approached them.
"Is this the surprise you were talking about?" I asked.
They nodded and pounced onto me making me fall onto my back.
"Oof!" I yelped.
My name is Arrax. I'm Felix's wolf. An unfamiliar voice said through the mindlink.
I looked at him and smiled.
And i'm Archer. Faine's wolf. Another voice said.
I looked at him.
I slowly sat up putting them on my lap.
"You guys look really beautiful." I gently patted them.
They leaned into the touch and purred.
Their tails were wagging like crazy.
Pha came out just then.
He tilted his head.
He couldn't see them since i had my back to him.
They peeked at him from my lap.
He raised his eyebrows and looked at me.
I smiled and nodded.
He approached us and sat beside me.
I could feel Zen's excitement.
Archer jumped onto Pha's lap.
He smiled widely and patted him gently.
"You guys looks completely different than how i thought you would." He chuckled.
They smiled proudly.
Falynn said she's hungry. I heard Aura's voice.
Faine too. Archer.
And Felix as well. Arrax.
"You want to stay in this form?" Pha asked.
They nodded.
We got up with them in our arms.
Arrax climbed up and laid down on my head.
I chuckled.
Archer did the same on Pha as well.
He also chuckled and held him so he wouldn't fall.
Aura settled on my shoulder.
We made our way inside and to the dining room.
Dad was sitting at the table while mom was serving the food.
She froze when she saw us.
Dad turned around also froze.
They blinked profusely.
We smiled and went closer to them.
Archer lunged onto dad who barely managed to catch him.
"Your wolves look so beautiful." Mom smiled widely.
Dad also smiled.
"Aura, Arrax and Archer huh?" He patted Archer gently.
He snuggled closer and purred softly.
Arrax got up on my head ready to jump.
"Mom catch." I warned her.
She reached out just in time to catch him before he hit the table.
He nuzzled her neck and snuggled close to her.
She chuckled and patted him gently.
Mom put their food on a flate plate so they can eat easily.
They were on the table and finished eating pretty quickly.
After eating, we decided to head back to the backyard.
Pha and i changed into our wolf forms as well. Of course i made sure we're the same size as Zen. Our real size would be a little too big to play around with them right now.
After playing around for a while we let Kai and Zen take over so they can also play with them.
"Woah!" I heard Yo's voice.
We turned to the veranda and saw Kit and Yo standing there with their jaws hanging.
Come on. Join us. I mindlinked them.
They immediately took off their clothes and shifted before running to us.
We played around until dinner time.
Falynn asked if we could sleep together like this tonight. Aura asked me as we went inside.
I looked at Pha who smiled.
Sure. I agreed.
I could feel their excitement.
We ate dinner and went into our bedroom.
We snuggled close together.
Pha and i were curled around then while they were lying between us comfortably curled into small balls.
We talked about the things the kids currently know and the things they don't know regarding their powers and mana.
We have a long road ahead. They'll face a lot of obstacles in the future. Especially since they're different from the other kids. Kai said after they fell asleep.
Yeah. But we'll be here with them. Zen replied.
We nodded in agreement.
