'Just another day as Spidey', I groaned quietly. Defeating Rhino, battling the Avengers, and completely missing dinner at the orphanage.
Yes, I live at an orphanage. Why do you ask?
Well... Long story.
At the age of 4, my parents died in a plane crash. I went to live with my aunt and uncle in Queens, New York. Then at 13 years old, the spider bite happened. Things were looking up for me... Until Ben was shot.
My fault.
I became spiderman, saved the world a few times, got a girlfriend, failed to save her father.
My fault.
Her dad's dying wish was that I stay away from his daughter. I did. Then I didn't. She died.

Flashback
I was doing my usual patrol when a police car sped past me. 'Well, better go see what's going on. ' I thought. Swinging along with the cruiser, we finally turned on to a residential road.' Wait isn't this my street? ' I thought, worried. Something was burning, I could smell it in the air.

My apartment building was on fire.
I swung down to the crowd, frantically searching for aunt May. "There's someone still in there! " An older woman cried out grabbing my shoulder. "Don't worry, I'll get the person out. " I say trying to sound confident. "Wait spiderman. The building's going to collapse! " A fireman shouted. But it was too late, I already broke through a window.
"Hello? Anybody in here? " I shout, breathing in the smoke. *cough* This isn't good. It's getting hard to breathe... My skin is on fire... "Help" A voice cried out. I follow the voice, searching for the owner. I stepped into... my apartment.
Oh no.
"May! " There she was, stuck under a beam, pain covering her features. I rush over to her, grabbing the beam. She whimpers in pain.

Throwing the burning beam aside, I grab my aunt, cradling her burnt broken body. I pulled off my mask, feeling like I was suffocating.
"P-peter... " She whispers weakly. "I... love...y-you..... baby... " She looks at me, grasping my arm. "Aunt May, don't leave me! I need*cough* you... please. " I sob, coughing.
I cried as I watched the life leave her body.
My life, my mom, the only one I had left, was gone.
Gone.
I sobbed, holding her lifeless body as the fire licked my body. Unable to breathe
I don't remember getting thrown out the window by the explosion. I don't remember webbing away. I don't remember the pain of the burns. I don't remember jumping onto a tall building.
But,
I remember her lifeless body in my arms. I remember the look in her eyes. I remember punching the cement walls until my fists bled. I remember screaming until my lungs hurt. I remember collapsing onto the ground, curling into a ball.
