Wealth is how America grows. If you want to survive in America, wealth is the reason. All families rely on wealth, but part of systematic inequality is partly because of one thing. The lack of wealth in black households. The wage gap between black and white families is huge. This gives a disadvantage to black people, and the reason they are looked down on. America is very elitist. The amount of money you make plays a big part in how you are treated. If you are born into a billionaire family, you are treated well and called a hard worker. If you are born in a poor household with very little money, you are likely to stay in that cycle of poverty being called a scoundrel or a lazy person who isn't trying enough. This is stupid because you can't be called lazy for not having the resources to escape something that isn't even your fault. As said by Trevor
Noah in his book Born a Crime, "Give a man a fish, and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he'll eat for a lifetime." What they don't say is, 'And it would be nice
if you gave him a fishing rod." That's the part of the analogy that's missing.'
There are many key factors to this inequality. One is that black households and families are less likely to be homeowners than white households, meaning they have less access to the tax benefits of owning a house. Another being employment discrimination and how the country is so segregated, black people usually end up in low pay jobs. They have less access to stable jobs, good wages, and retirement benefits.
Latino and some Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders also fall underneath white people in America in terms of wealth. The median for black and Latino families' wealth is $17,600 and $20,700. The median wealth of a white family is 171,000. African Americans have 1/10 of the wealth of black Americans. Black families are in greater need of savings than their white counterparts. African Americans have fewer assets. The graphs below show the wage and income inequality in America.
If we want to feed black people for the rest of their lives, we at least have to give them a fishing rod.
For people who don't believe racism is a problem, I don't know how much more information I can give you, but here we go:

● Income for African Americans was lower than white people's income by 42%
● Student loans are higher for the black community than the white community
● More black children are born into poverty.
● Black people have less access to health care during the pandemic.
● Coronavirus has an impact on people of color.
● Black people are overrepresented in prisons
● Black people are 3.64 times more likely to be arrested for marijuana possession
● Fatal police shootings are more likely to happen to people of color.
The American Housing system was designed to benefit white people but is a disadvantage to people of color. The government has made the housing system discriminatory. Black people are excluded from federal homeownership time and time again. I think the government needs to take action and not discriminate
when it comes to opportunities because it's not fair that some people have all the opportunities, and others get none.
