Everyone began screaming and running in different directions. At first I was in shock, I couldn't move as if my legs were paralyzed. My heart was thumping in my chest I could feel that it was about to burst at anytime. Everyone was moving and yelling but to me it was all a blur. My brain kept telling me to move but my legs wouldn't respond. Whenever I watched a movie and one of the characters was in a similar situation I would laugh at how stupid they were, but now since I was experiencing it firsthand I take back what I said. When my body finally snapped out of its state of shock it was already too late. I felt someone's warm body pressed up against mine but I can't say I felt warm. The person which I'm guessing is a guy due to the body structure grabbed my head in a headlock and I felt the cool barrel of a gun placed at the side of my head. My first reaction was trying to get out the guy's grip but he was too strong and held my in place. My second was crying. I screamed for help but half the people where out the door while the other half were passed out on the ground due to the shock.
"AJ!" I heard Ellen, Jack and Eric shout. I saw Jack take a step towards me but the guy spoke up.
"One more step and she's dead"
This was it, I was going to die.
Jack stopped walking and my eye's scanned the place for Eric but I couldn't see him. The man began to walk slowly backwards pulling me with him.
"You!" he bellowed at a frightened Ellen. "After an hour I want you to call the police and tell them that I want half a million Euro's and that they have three hours or else the girl dies. Call them before that she dies as well"
I swear if I make it out alive I'll never comeback to Paris. I thought.
Right now I was bawling my eyes out, begging him to let me go. He continued stepping backwards trying to make an exit but before I knew it he tripped and fell to the ground. I closed my eyes ready for the impact but there was none. I opened my eyes only to find myself being thrown to the said.
"Ow!" I cried when I made impact with the hard floor.
"Sorry" Eric replied.
I turned my head to where the voice was coming from only to see Eric on the man's back. He held his arms with one hand and the gun was pointed at the man's head. Ellen scurried to my side and embraced me quickly.
"You" I heard Eric say. I looked at him to see he was gesturing to Jack. "Get them out of here" he ordered. Jack nodded and came to our side, taking my hand. He started to run but I stopped in my tracks making him Ellen stop too.
"No! Eric we won't leave you! What if he has a partner or something? You- you'll die" my voice cracked and fresh tears poured down my face. I didn't want people dying because of me, especially Eric.
"Don't worry about me, I can take care of myself. Now go"
"But-"
"No buts. Go" he ordered.
Jack began running again leading me and Ellen. I took off my heels and ripped the dress to my knees to make it easier. He led us to the back stage exit and took out his cell phone. I heard him speak in French and I figured he was speaking to the police. When we were out the side exit Jack hid us behind the dumpster.
"Wait here, I'm going to help Eric"
"But Jack-" he cut me off by pressing his lips to my forehead.
"I'll be fine, don't worry" then he left.
I glance at Ellen and she was just as frightened as me. Her tan face was now a terrifying shade of white.
I heard another gunshot then everything went black.

Beep, beep, beep.
What was that annoying sound?
Beep, beep, beep.
There it was again. Where was it coming from?
Beep, beep, beep.
I tried opening my eyes but they wouldn't.
Beep, beep, beep.
I tried again and this time they did.
There was white everywhere and I squinted trying to adjust my eyes to the sudden brightness. The place had the hospital smell.
Wait! Hospital? Why was I in a hospital?
Flashbacks of what happened came. I was going to be kidnapped by some psycho but Eric had saved me, again.
Eric! He could be dead! And it was all my fault!
I tried to fight back the tears but they were already pouring down my face. I sat up and surprisingly nothing hurt. Then why was I in a hospital? Maybe it was the painkillers. I drew my knees to my chest and buried my head in them, totally oblivious to the fact that the door opened.
"Amy!" I heard Ellen exclaim. I heard the scurrying of her feet as she rushed to my side. She threw her arms around me, squeezing me to death.
"Thank God! I was so worried and-" she cut herself off when she noticed I was crying.
"Baby, what's wrong?" she asked in a worried voice.
I looked up at her and felt more tears pouring out.
She cradled me in her arms until I could find my voice.
"Is Eric okay? Did- did he.........die?" I said my voice thick with tears. The word last barely came out of my mouth.
"Don't worry, he's alive and well, in fact he should be here any minute now he just went to grab something to eat" she said flashing me a smile.
"But what about the second gunshot?" I asked. Happiness bubbled through my body, knowing that Eric was alive.
"That happened when another guy showed up and Eric shot the man's hand so he could knock the gun out. Turns out Eric is a second degree black belt and has experience with guns since his grandfather used to take him hunting"
My eyes widened in astonishment. Ellen chuckled at my expression and wiped my tears with her thumbs. "Why am I here? I don't remember getting hurt and Jack! What happened to him?"
"He's right here" said a voice coming from the doorway. And sure enough it was Jack. He practically ran to my side and tackled me in a bear hug.
"Oomph. Can't. Breathe." I choked.
He pulled back giving me a sheepish grin. "Sorry, I'm just glad to see you're awake"
"Thank you Jack"
"For what?" he said giving me a confused look.
"For helping me"
"My pleasure" he said smiling.
"Don't I get a thank you too?" whined a very familiar voice. I looked up to see Eric standing in the door way looking as gorgeous as ever. My heart beat picked up at the sight of him.
He walked into the room and Ellen quickly got up from her seat.
"I have to go use the bathroom, Jack could you come show me where it is?"
"Sure" replied Jack obviously getting the message.
Ellen closed the door and winked at me before leaving. Eric sat down on the bed facing and his back was to the door. His piercing blue eyes bored into mine before he pulled me in a hug. He pulled me closer and I wrapped my arms around his body, pressing my cheek to his chest enjoying the feeling of being his arms.
"I'm so glad you're okay" he whispered in to my ear his lips grazing it.
"Thank you Eric. For everything. I don't know what I would have done if you didn't show up. When I heard the second gunshot I thought you died!" I was fully crying now.
"AJ-" I ignored him and kept talking.
"I'm so sorry Eric, for always putting you in these situations. I understand if you hate me and don't want to be friends anymore"
He pulled away from me and placed either hand on the sides of my face. He wiped away my tears with his thumbs.
"I could never hate you" he whispered and with that he pressed his lips to mine. At first I was shocked but I snapped out of it. I closed my eyes and responded to the kiss. He knotted his hands in my hair and I moved my arms to his neck, pulling him closer.
The kiss was indescribable. I felt fireworks go through my body. After a few moments he pulled back and placed his forehead on mine.
"AJ" he whispered huskily. "Will you be my girlfriend?"
