You stepped outside into the courtyard, walking into the warm sunlight and sat next to your red headed friend.
"Hey, you'd never guess who was looking for you- don't worry i didn't lead him here " you stopped as you noticed tears were running down her face.
"Whats wrong? What happened?"You asked as calmly as you could, trying to comfort her. More tears silently cascaded down her rosy cheeks. She shook her head and wiped away the tears from her face. Refusing to look at you.
"Doesn't matter, i'm fine or at least i will be."she said shakily, playing with the bracelet on her wrist.
"Look i'm not pushing you to tell me what's wrong, but i am here for you if you want to tell me. If there's anything i can do to help you, just let me know okay?" you stated, knowing that it'd probably make her feel worse if you made her tell you.
She nodded gently and sadly smiled, turning to look at you "Thank you, you're a good friend (y/n)"" But honestly, i'll be fine " You nodded not really believing her , but respecting her privacy.
You both sat there talking, mostly you. You wanted to cheer her up, Lily was a strong person, so whatever had happend clearly made her upset. After a while of searching around for Lily, the boys gave up and headed for lesson. James & Sirius had defence against the dark arts whilst Remus and Peter had potions, they all parted ways and got to class. You knew that lesson already started but decided to not tell Lily.
"You have got be kidding" she giggled.
"Nope, he was actually dumb enough to give me 8 galleons just to know where you were." You both laughed, before a wave of realisation spread over Lilys face.
"OH Godric, we're gonna be late for first lesson!" she shrieked, standing up and dragging you too.
Lily was practically sprinting whilst you were taking your time, going as slow as possible to piss her off. Meaning Lily had to stop every few seconds to allow you to catch up with her.
"I'm confused, i'm sure Lily said she had this class today" James said worriedly
"Maybe she just said that to trick you" Sirius said laughing at his friend.
"Or maybe she's just late" Potter replied.The two of them burst out laughing.
"Yeah as if Lily would be late"Sirius howled, making them laugh even more. It was about 15 minutes before Lily came in.
When you got to the classroom, everyone was already in their seats- class had already begun.
"I am so sorry that we're late sir, it won't happen again i swear"Lily blurted, making the bespectacled boy laugh at her tardiness.
"Yes ,yes whilst it's your first time being late to my lesson miss Evans i will let you off with a warning however, since this is not your 1st time being late to my lesson miss (l/n) i'm afraid its detention for you" Professor Raywood expressed.
Both Sirius and James laughed at how quickly Lily was to apologise and then running to her seat, leaving you at the front with the professor.
"Oh i look forward to it sir" you said flirtatiously and winked at him making his eyes widen and a a crimson blush form on his face.
You smirked and took your seat at the back next to Lily, as they were the only two left. Lily had already gotten her books out on the desk and was speedily writing everything that was on the board. You didn't feel the need to do this as you'd already learnt this lesson over the holidays. Your parents made you have a tutor, which was very annoying when you wanted to go out but did come in handy during class.
"Can't believe you were late to lesson, tut tut tut" You whispered provocatively to Lily, she whirled her head up at you rolling her eyes and sighing.
"You were late as well you know" she whispered back.
"Yeah but have you ever been late to lesson before, its disgraceful behaviour i expected more from you" you said sarcastically shaking your head at her with a smirk. She huffed clearly angered by the fact she was late.
"Girls at the back, because you were chatting i'm going to take that as a sign you know the difference between the expulso curse and the blasting curse, hm?" the professor questioned, slightly annoyed that the two of you weren't paying attention. Lily sat there trying to think of an answer but lucky for you, you already had one.
Sirius and James both looked at who he was talking to. James looking at Lily and Sirius looking at you.
"The expulso curse makes huge explosions and uses lots of force, whereas the blasting curse makes anything it comes into contact with explode. Generally people use the expulso curse more because they think its more powerful, which is absolute bullshit as the blasting curse causes lots more damage and can even kill" you answered causing lots of people around the room to have their jaws drop, even Lily was surprised that you knew it as she looked from you back to the teacher. He looked shocked and a little embarrassed making you smirk even more.
" I'm going to ignore the use of language and focus on the perfect answer you just gave miss (l/n), 5 points to Slytherin"
"Oh why thank you professor" you said flirtatiously ,resting your chin on your bent hand winking at him once again. He coughed and started moving his collar from his neck trying to cool himself down. You quietly snickered, smirking. A few other other people laughed at his reaction.
Sirius laughed at how daring you were, if he didn't know you he might of said you're a Gryffindor. If only, that would make things so much easier. I could see her more, talk to her more, steal her away from my brother and eat with her for once. Wait,what am i even thinking. He shook his head and tried his best to do his work.
"Now now settle down class, back to what we were doing." The professor said trying to busy himself. You looked back at Lily who was shaking her head at you whilst gently laughing.
"What? You should be thanking me, i just saved your arse" you said cockily, raising an eyebrow at her.
"Whatever" she said playfully, rolling her eyes."do you always have to be such a flirt?" she laughed.
"erm" flicking your hair out of your face dramatically" of course i do" You said smugly and getting back to the task at hand.
Every couple of minutes Sirius just couldn't resist turning his head to look at you. Godric she's beautiful
"You so like her" James said smugly, arms crossed- waking Sirius from his thoughts
"i do not" Sirius replied rolling his eyes.
"Every time she walks into a room, you don't stop staring at her and its like you go completely brain dead" James said tapping his friends head.
"Yeah? Well..i could say the same thing about you"
"You're right i do like Lily, in fact i love Lily, at least i'm honest about my feelings, it's called being emotionally available. You should try it padfoot" The boy with the glasses spoke. Leaving Sirius stunned.
"Wow. Your crazier than i thought you were"
After a while, the silver eyed boy overheard people whispering behind him "Should i do it?" he heard one boy ask "Dunno, she's pretty scary" he heard another say. From the corner of his eye, he saw something fly over across the tables to you. A note. He thought to himself.
After nearly finishing the lesson & being bored out your mind a paper animal flies over to you. You look to where it came from. A slim Slytherin boy with neatly kept, dirty blonde hair and dark blue eyes - Evan Rosier.
Sirius watched you attentively, waiting to see your reaction- to give him any hint as to what was written on the note. Your face was completely unreadable. Expressionless. Until you picked up your wand and lit the paper on fire, smirking at the boy behind him - who Sirius had recognised as being Evan Rosier, one of Snape's friends.
He looked at you with a smirk on his face and pointed for you to open the paper. You rolled your eyes, opening the paper. We should go out some time, it'd be fun. You had never even spoken to him before so were a little confused as to why he was sending you this.
You picked up your wand and cast the incendio charm onto the paper, causing it to slowly catch fire. You picked up the piece of paper making sure he could see it and smirked, fluttering your eyelashes innocently. He laughed, with a devious grin on his face. You used a scouring charm to clean up the bits of ash and burnt paper.
The boy laughed, which confused Sirius, as clearly that was a rejection at it's finest."Feisty isn't she" one boy said "so, are you gonna give up?""of course i'm not, it's all about being persistent. Besides i like a chase" he said making the boys laugh. Once again making Sirius boil with anger, quickly having to calm down
"Can you smell something burning? " Professor Raywood asked, oblivious to what had just happened. Luckily the bell rang as soon as he said it, dismissing you all. Once everyone had left the classroom, you noticed that Lily went a bit quiet again.You didn't want to push her so you just left it and walked to your next lesson, transfiguration. i'll talk to her later you thought.
