Almost a year had passed since Hinata Shouyou left Japan for Brazil, and a lot had happened, especially for Kageyama, who had participated in his first Olympics a few months back.
And as much as Kageyama had loved this year, something was missing in his life; namely a young man with orange hair.

In March, Kageyama made use of the two week of vacation at his disposal to go on a trip to Brazil. He had asked his old coach and other people about Hinata's whereabouts, so he knew roughly where to go.
Tobio walked with his suitcase rolling behind him on the shore line, where a very big beach of white sand extended miles and miles away. He checked his indications again, and suddenly he heard a familiar voice on the side.
"Pass here!"
Kageyama's head shot up, eyes wide, just in time to see his former teammate jump to reach the ball that was tossed at him. Tobio gasped, he didn't think that Hinata could go much higher after their last match together, but he was clearly mistaken...
Shouyou spiked the ball from such a high spot that it was as if he was flying.
"Yeah, nice!" Hinata shouted happily after scoring, high-fiving his current teammate.
Tobio's heart beat fast in his chest as he started walking towards his old friend. And as if he had heard him, Hinata's head turned towards him. Their eyes met, freezing them on the spot.
Hinata's eyes got wider, "K-Kageyama...?" he stammered.
He took a wobbly step in front of him.
"Yo!" Tobio just said, trying his hardest to stay calm.
"You... son of a... aaargh!" Hinata yelled as he sprinted forwards.
He was coming to Kageyama with high speed, and the latter didn't have the time to dodge him. He just squeezed his eyes shut, waiting for a hard blow; but instead, he felt his torso being encircled.
Tobio looked down and saw that Hinata was hugging him.
"F*ck it's so good to see you, man!" Hinata exclaimed. "I didn't even know you were coming!"
A small smile appeared on Tobio's face as he patted Shouyou's back.
"Well it wouldn't have been a surprise otherwise, now would it?" he joked with a grin.
Hinata smacked him as he finished his hug, but was smiling so brightly it almost blinded Tobio. "I've missed you!"
Kageyama gaped at him for a second, then put his hands in his pockets nonchalantly and looked at the beach volley-ball court right in front of them.
"So... are you going to invite me to play with you or...?" he pouted.
"Well it depends... how long are you gonna stay here?" Hinata asked curiously.
"About a week."
"Then we have all the time to play later!" Hinata replied. "Come on, let's go eat something, you must be starving, right?"
Now that he mentioned it, Kageyama noticed that his stomach was rumbling pretty noisily...
"Yeah, fine by me..." he said, massaging his belly.

So Hinata took Kageyama to his favorite snack bar, situated by the beach shore, and ordered some of the Brazilian specialities he had learned to love during the few months he had lived here.
Strangely, they ate in silence, just staring at the sea. But it wasn't uncomfortable, just quiet.
Then Shouyou assumed Tobio wanted to get rid of his suitcase, so he led him towards his house.
He unlocked the front door and let Kageyama enter the apartment.
"It's not much but it's pretty cozy once you get used to it!" Hinata said as he put his bag in a corner.
Kageyama looked around the room timidly, "It looks nice!" he just said, setting down his own luggage.
"My roommate is out right now I think, I'll introduce you later. Let's go to my room."
They entered the small bedroom, in which there was very sparse furniture.
Kageyama's eyes quickly travelled from the bed to Hinata's face, and their eyes locked to each other once again. Goosebumps ran on Tobio's skin from head to toes as he took in Hinata's appearance:
He had gotten a bit taller, and his slim limbs were peeking through a light tank top and dark shorts.
Tobio got out of his gazing trance and just realized he had unconsciously stepped closer to Hinata.
He was now towering over him, a light blush on his face. He cocked his face to the side and breathed:
"You really look good like this..."
He lifted one of his hands and brushed his finger on the exposed collarbone. Hinata shivered under the touch, peeking up at Tobio.
"Really? Do you think I'm good-looking then?" Shouyou asked curiously, staring straight into his friend's eyes.
Kageyama just lost it then; he grabbed the back of Hinata's neck and yanked him towards him. He crashed his lips against Shouyou's, twisting his own neck to get a better angle.
"Mnh~ Wai-" Hinata moaned, trying to push Tobio off a bit. "Don't you want to talk a bit first...?"
Tobio didn't answer and kissed him instead. Clumped together, the two young men staggered towards the bed, taking their clothes off in the process. They stumbled down on the mattress and Tobio finally had the time to peer at Shouyou's body once more.
He gulped at the view of the clear tan lines that had appeared from under the tank top.
"So sexy..." he mumbled, lightly touching the marks with the tip of his fingers.
"You really have weird tastes, don't you...?" Hinata remarked with a chuckle.
"You have no idea, Shouyou..."
Hinata's eyes widened at the sound of his name, followed by light kisses over his chest. Kageyama took one of the pink nipples between his lips and sucked it. That made Hinata fall back on the bed, his hands covering his flushed face.
Kageyama moved his hands along the shape of Hinata's waist and hips, which made the latter wriggling under him. Then he took the boy's shorts off, revealing once more some clear tan lines.
"Shit!" Tobio exhaled shakingly as Hinata's hard shaft sprung up in front of his eyes.
He could feel the tension growing in his own pants and knew he couldn't wait any longer.
Kageyama hunched over Hinata's small body and whispered in his ear.

So Kageyama's week of vacation went quickly, more quickly than he wanted. And as he said goodbye to Hinata at the airport, Tobio could feel that something had changed in him; evolved.
"See you soon..." he said as he hugged his friend at the terminal.
"Yeah..." Hinata replied, his eyes teary.
Kageyama was smiling as he sat in the airplane before the take off. He looked through the window and could see Hinata pressed against one of the windows of the airport, waving at him.
The moment the plane took off, Tobio sighed as he felt his heart squeeze in his chest.
"So this is what normal people call 'love' huh?"
