Cold though it were.
Not a raindrop in sight.
Not a single one.
Though it may seem, same for the sun.
Where is it?
Where has it gone?
A jumper he wore.
To keep nice and warm.
Walking his dog.
Out in the cold.
It wagging its tail, doing as told.
Sit, stay, wait for the car.
Almost at the field.
Playtimes not far.
"Thank goodness it's not raining"
They sighed clinging to zipper.
Smiling so chipper as the heavens stayed quiet.
Cool and retired.
Not a raindrop in sight, though it may seem.

The man howled.
"You silly pooch. You've only gone and made me, step in your poop."
Wash away, wash away.
How they did hope.
No heavens were open, so no puddles.
How will they cope.
"Rain, please do come. I'm sorry for offending you. If you could just drizzle. To clean off my shoe."
Then the rain did come.
It did what he asked.
He commanded the rain.
Yet commanding his dog, still proved quite a task.
