Gauri was crying as she thought about what she heard. She had been crying the whole day remembering that she had been just a bet for Omkara. She knew he always made bets but she never thought he would make a bet on her. Was everything a lie for the bet? Gauri wondered sadly. She wanted to talk to Bhaiyya or Bhavya but then what was she going to tell them? That Omkara did something like this to her? How could Omkara do this to her? How could he ever do this? Then she stops in shock, he could never do something like this. What if she had over reacted or misunderstood? Her Omkara would never do something that would hurt others. No, he could never do it. It is not in him to hurt others. Wiping her tears she hurries to college to talk to him when she realizes that it was already dark. She takes her mobile and calls him, he had tried calling her a couple of times but she had ignored his calls. His mobile was coming engaged. She walks to her hostel and finds Ajay, Dandi and Varun. Dandi was on the phone.
"Gauri... listen..." Ajay hurries to her worriedly.
"You don't have to tell me anything." Gauri tells them. "I over reacted. Omkara can never do anything like that. I trust him."
Ajay starts smiling in relief, "You scared us."
"I tried calling him but his mobile is coming engaged." Gauri tells him worried. "Is he angry with me?"
"He is not... he was worried that you were angry with him."
Gauri tries his number again and it was coming engaged. "Engaged. Can you ask him to call me?"
Ajay looks at Dandi who was still on the phone.
"You go inside, it is late. He'll call you." Dandi tells her.
"Are you on the phone with him?" Gauri asks eagerly noticing he was on the phone.
"No."
"Okay... if you see him, please tell him that I am sorry and to please call me... okay?"
"Don't worry, Gauri. You go in now."
Nodding Gauri goes inside her hostel.
"She is coming in." Dandi informs Omkara on the phone and hangs up.
Gauri tries Omkara's number as she opened the door and entered her room. It was switched off now. Sighing sadly she locks the door when she feels something on her feet and looks down to find red and blue balloons all over the room. Confused she looks up to find Omkara leaning on the wall smiling at her.
"Omkara!" Gauri says happily as she hurried to him trying not to burst the balloons. She hugs him and says crying, "I am sorry, Omkara. I don't know why I suddenly thought you were with me because of the bet. I am so sorry I slapped you."
Omkara with a smile wipes her tears.
"I trust you, Omkara."
"I heard you tell that to Ajay." Omkara tells her smiling. "I was on the phone with Dandi then."
"Are you angry with me?"
"I was but then I realize that it is all because of that stupid bet."
"Stupid bet?"
"Yes." Omkara tells her smiling. "That day, after the issue with Gaur, I was trying to tell you everything and you were acting all that is no big deal. Remember?"
"Yeah." Gauri says confused.
"And the next day Shivaay and his friend came to see you, and Ajay and the gang started making fun of me saying that I was behaving like a love sick puppy while you were acting as if I don't mean a thing. I was kind of drunk and I made a bet with them that you would be the one who would confess first. "
"That was the bet?" Gauri asks shocked.
"Yes." Omkara tells her grinning embarrassed.
"And that was the reason you kept forcing me to confess?" Gauri asks hands on hips.
"Yes."
"Hmmm..."
"What?" Omkara asks seeing her thoughtful.
Gauri keeps looking at him and realized that she doesn't want any more secrets between them. She couldn't cheat him anymore.
"I want to tell you something."
"Tell me."
"Please don't hate me after you hear that." Gauri tells him in a worried tone.
Omkara starts laughing hearing her.
"I am serious, Omkara." Gauri says worriedly seeing his reaction.
"You are such a dumbo, Dumbo!" Omkara says still chuckling.
Gauri looks at him confused.
"Look down." Omkara tells her grinning.
Gauri looks down to see the balloons.
"Normally, such occasion people use red and white but I used red and blue."
Gauri looks at him confused wondering what he meant by that.
"Red balloon... blue balloon." Omkara reminds her.
Gauri looks at him confused.
"I can't believe you forgot that." Omkara says slightly hurt.
That is when she remembers how he had helped her get balloons when they were small and then gasps out loud, "You know?"
"Yes." Omkara replies laughing as he pulled her towards him.
"How? Ali told you?" Gauri asks shocked.
"I knew before that itself. But then Ali told me the reason why you were hiding the truth from me." Omkara explains.
"Really?" Gauri asks still in shock.
"Yeah... that day i saw you running away from Ali and I asked him what his bhabhi was saying. He was surprised that I was calling you his Bhabhi and he told me what you told him." Omkara explains.
"When Bhaiyya came that time you found out?"
"No... I knew before that itself... and I didn't see Shivaay that day... remember?"
"Then how did you know?" Gauri asks exasperated. "Did you know from the beginning?"
"Not from the beginning... remember that day at the mall? We were walking... we had a talk on make-ups?" (Part 3)
"Yeah."
"That time, I started thinking of how you had put make-up once and came to see me."
"I used to be silly na?" Gauri asks blushing.
"That you still are." Omkara tells her chuckling.
Gauri slightly hits him. Omkara laughs and continues, "I was thinking about you... and my mind was like fully on that kiddo Gauri and suddenly you held my hand. And the way you held my hand was just like how she used to hold my hand, and then I looked at you and the way you were smiling at me, I realized."
"Oh!"
"That is why I started avoiding you... I was angry and I was in love also... and I just didn't know what to do."
"Then I saw you with Gaur and you thought you lost me."
"And I realized that I couldn't live without you." Omkara tells her smiling.
"Then why didn't you tell me all this?"
"I was going to tell you but then you were acting all pricey."
"Oh!" Gauri blushes.
"Why do you hate us, Omkara?" Gauri asks him sadly.
"Well...." Omkara hesitates.
"Is it because Baba became close to us and you feel Baba neglected you for us?" Gauri asks him sadly.
"Come on, Gauri... you two lost your parents so suddenly and I was only happy to share my Baba with you." Omkara tells her shocked.
"Then why? Did we do something to you?"
"No..."
"Then?"
"I started having naughty thoughts about you." Omkara tells her grinning cheekily knowing how silly his reasons were.
"What?" Gauri asks shocked.
"You were just 11, Dumbo and I was 17... and I started having all these "physical" thoughts and dreams about you... I started feeling like a pedophile."
"Really?" Gauri asks eyes going wide.
"Yeah... you keep running behind me like that, I was bound to start thinking of you like that."
"So you started hating me?"
"That is why I moved to here, I was feeling so disgusted with myself for having those kind of feelings towards you but I couldn't help how I was feeling and I realized I had to get away from you... then I started missing you and I started hating myself for having such thoughts about you. Then I started thinking badly about you and Shivaay to get rid of these feelings... started making up reasons to hate you. And I think I succeeded a little in that but then you came here and I started falling for you. Maybe my heart always knew who you were and the old feelings just intensified."
"Hmmm..."
"I was a little upset too that you didn't trust me enough to tell me the truth. I could understand your fears but was angry that you didn't trust my love to tell me who you were. Maybe that is also why I never told you that I knew who you were."
"What are you thinking?" Omkara asks her seeing her thoughtful.
"I want you to win this bet." Gauri tells him smiling.
Omkara closes her mouth and says, "I love you, Dumbo." Then he releases her mouth.
"Why did you do that, you idiot?" Gauri asks shocked.
"Because it was a stupid bet and you have been always telling me about your love, so when we are at an age when we can truly make a lifelong commitment I wanted to be the one to do it."
"I love you" Gauri tells him smiling and then she says "but then I'll tell Ajay and all that I told you first."
"You don't have to do that."
"I want to do that."
"Now is there anything you think we should talk about?"
Gauri thinks for a while and asks "No... is there?"
"Good, no." Omkara replies and takes her lips in his.
Epilogue
3 years later
Laughing they come out of the blanket. Omkara starts kissing her again.
"SIR!"
Omkara curses under his breath while Gauri stifles her laughter.
"I am going to fire him!" Omkara tells Gauri and then screams out, "Khanna... I am coming!"
Omkara was about to get up when Gauri wraps her arms around his neck. Omkara lightly slaps her on her hand, "Get up... you don't want to be late for first day of college now... do you?"
Gauri pouts making Omkara chuckle, he leans down and kisses her soundly on her lips and gets up before she could stop him again. Gauri watches as Omkara walked into the washroom. She pulls the blanket over her and with a sigh closes her eyes.
They have been married for two months now, two months of honeymoon. For all the kissing they had done in college, they never went beyond that as unexpectedly Omkara turned out to be an old fashioned who strongly believed sex comes only after marriage. But once they were married there was no stopping him, Gauri thinks with a blush.
After she had finished her under graduation she had come back home and joined a local college while Omkara had joined Sharma industries after his studies. He had hated the idea of joining her family business but Shivaay and Baba had browbeaten him into doing it. Shivaay and Baba had refused to look after Gauri's share of business and threatened Omkara about the losses that could occur because of lack of management and Omkara had reluctantly joined the business. Gauri had transferred everything in Omkara's name as she didn't want to be part of the business. She wanted to be a teacher. Omkara was at first very uncomfortable and cranky in the beginning but as he started proving his metal and showed everyone that he deserved to be there at the head then he started enjoying it.
"Dumbo... get ready, I'll drop you on my way to office." Omkara tells her as he came out in a towel.
Sighing Gauri goes to get ready. By the time Gauri was ready, Omkara had already left their bedroom. She comes out to find Omkara in discussion with Khanna.
"Omkara! BABA! KHANNA! Breakfast is ready." Gauri shouts out as she helped Patil set the table.
"Dumbo... Shivaay will be coming." Omkara informs her as he looked up from his file.
"Okay." Gauri replies and turns to Patil asking him to get another plate.
Few minutes later, Shivaay reaches there and they sit for breakfast.
Tej smiles seeing Gauri and Om so happy with each other, and Om joking with Shivaay. It had hurt him a lot when Om had turned against Sharmas but now he loved them a lot. Tej sighs loudly. "Now, all I want is a grandchild."
Omkara and Gauri turns to look at each other grinning.
"What?" Shivaay asks offended.
"What?" Tej asks frowning.
"All you care about is these two? You don't even seem interested in getting me married!"
"Your marriage?" Tej asks shocked.
"I am 29... next year I'll be 30! But you are not even interested in my marriage."
Gauri excitedly looks at Omkara and realizing what was in her mind, Omkara smiles at her.
"Bhaiyya... we have a friend... she was Omkara's classmate... but my friend too... her name is Anika... she got a job here and she is here now... are you interested?"
"Yeah sure... I'll meet her!" Shivaay says shrugging.
"Oh God! Don't you have any shame?" Tej asks shocked at Shivaay's casual tone.
"Baba... he is Dumbo's elder brother... I'm surprised he is showing this much restrain." Omkara says laughing.
"What do you mean by that, sir?" Khanna asks confused.
"Let's just say... someone tried helping someone with balloons and ended up hooked, booked and cooked." Shivaay tells him.
Omkara, Shivaay and Tej laugh while Gauri blushes happily.
