Finally, the last full day till the end of the training camp. You had to admit, it had been rather fun, whether it be playing and messing around with the boys or chatting and relaxing with the girls.
Now, the best part had come, the barbecue. You had a feeling some of the boys already knew, considering they were singing and dancing about meat and how meat is god? It wasn't long until all the girls had finished cutting the watermelon and were walking outside towards the rowdy teams. Being one of the few teams without a manger, and with Kiyoko already catering for Karasuno, you found yourself walking towards Nekoma, where more shouting and laughter could be heard.
The only one who noticed you was the talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it Lev ;).
He ran towards you from his beating session 😼 from Yaku and to you instead. "(L/n) - chan!" he yelled, waving his arms in the air, "Is this for us?" he said, eyes sparkling at the look of the summer fruit. "It is" you replied, chuckling at his excitement. As soon as those words left your mouth you swore his smile was so wide it could match Hinata's. You stood there as he was eyeing which slice to pick (most likely the biggest 😼) before Yaku came over and pushed him away. "Hey (L/n) - san" he said, way too innocently despite him being known as the demon senpai. He took the slice Lev was about to take for himself and waved goodbye to you, taking a bite as Lev sat on the floor there in shock.
"H-hey wait a sec" he said, most likely still so shook that he didn't even bother going to get it. "Lev" you said to him, before walking over and kneeling down to his level then using one hand to pat his head affectionately, "There's still enough, don't worry" you said softly, smiling at him as he looked at you like you were and angel (which you are). It took him a second to process what you said but when his brain stopped working like internet explorer, he teared up, "Th-THANKYOU (Y/N) - chan" he exclaimed before going quiet again at the end. He wrapped his long arms around you waist before burying his head into your chest, still sniffing.
"H-hey" you whispered to him, a slight blush on your cheeks, because you had to zoom the watermelon above your head so Lev didn't knock them all over, which then gave access to your entire chest area (you know if you're female ✊😔) as well as it even being slightly puffed out due to your arms being in the air, still protecting the watermelon.
Despite no attention being on you before, all of a sudden the three musketeers that always remember to drink their respect women juice (Lev should learn 😡) seemed to have noticed your situation, and felt rage bubbling inside of them.
"WHAT IS THAT!" shouted the leader of the bros, pointing in the direction of Lev and you, also leading to other people seeing your situation due to their loudness, some sporting blushes at the sight and others wishing they were in Lev's place.
Yet there you and him where, his face still nuzzled in your chest and your arms still holding the tray of fruit like your life depended on it. The bros waltzed up towards you both, muttering incoherent insults towards Lev. You flinched as you could feel the aura they were radiating and turned towards them only to see them marching in sync, the only thing you could really do was sit there and sweat drop at their behaviour, needing Kiyoko back in your life.
Nishinoya took the tray out of your hands while Tanaka and Yamamoto grabbed onto Lev, they pulled him away from you successfully but ended up landing on the floor too. You got up before dusting off your knees and grimacing at the small patch of tears and mucus on your shirt, luckily your shirt was black so it wasn't too noticeable, but it was still pretty gross.
Grabbing your tray from Nishinoya and thanking the boys you walked away from the scene where they were teaching Lev to respect women and instead to the small captain circle, consisting of Kuroo, Daichi and Bokuto, most likely talking about which team was better.
You stood behind them all and tapped Kuroo on the shoulder, his attention turning towards you as he smirked realising that it was you. "Hah, see that Sawamura - san, I told you she would be coming to our team again in the end" you could hear the smugness in his voice and it only made you sweat-drop. "Actually Kuroo - san, i'm just handing out watermelon slices to the Nekoma team, considering they don't have any mangers" you said to him, instantly deflating his ego by at least 32% and Daichi staring at him with a smirk and his hands on his hips. "Oh~ what was that then Kuroo - san" he said, chest puffed out in victory. "I said nothing..." muttered Kuroo, seemingly disappointed by your unbiased response.
"Oh, can I have some (Y/n) - chan?" asked Bokuto, making grabby baby hands towards you, which you could only smile at and give in to his request, "I'm 99% sure you have already had a couple slices knowing you, but if thats what you want" you replied, smiling at him and holding out the tray, letting him take a piece and sink his teeth into it, a look of satisfaction setting on his face. You smile at the sight again, despite being a third year, Bokuto was definitely a childish person, being easily able to make someone smile without even trying.
You turned your attention back to Kuroo sulking and offered him a piece by motioning towards the tray and holding it out towards him. He stopped sulking momentarily to take some watermelon and bit into it, and as if by magic he was back to his normal self and munching on his fruit like a good child.
Finally you turned your head to see Daichi looking straight back at you. You were a little surprised at first, but easily recovered and gave him a piece too. "Eat" you said, shoving a slice of watermelon into his mouth, knowing he won't decline, being canon that he is one of the biggest eaters. He took the fruit with pleasure and started crunching away too, leaving you to watch the three boys to make mess on their own.
Finding your tray to be empty you placed it on one of the tables near the girls, piling it on top of the others. You could hear other boys talking about Kiyoko as she walked towards your group, but could you really blame them? She was very pretty. Though before you could escort Kiyoko for her safety, the group of women respecters radiated an aura that stopped anyone from going near her, which you deeply respected.
Finding the girls to be chatting amongst themselves, you didn't want to interrupt, so instead walked over to the quiet kid group, consisting of Kenma, Tsukishima and his sidekick Yamaguchi, you felt more in your comfort zone with those three, considering hey were like the quiet kid in class that could also pull a gun out in front of everyone.
You walked over silently, the sounds of the girls chatting fading away as you walked closer to the trio. You reached them unnoticed and leaned over Kenma's shoulder, seeing that he was playing Animal Crossing, specifically New Horizons, a game that you had also been playing since it had came out.
"Oh, you play that too?" you asked, seeing his villager talk to Apple, a hamster villager. He flinched at first, looking behind his to see you leaning over his shoulder to see his game, he thought it was a bit weird at first, seeing someone as nice and pretty like you talk to someone like him, but he accepted it and replied, "Uh, yeah, it's calming I guess" He carried on to play on his switch, comfortable with the fat that it was only you watching him. If he was honest, from the mall encounter you had already had, that being the time you were talking to Coach Nekomata about Tsukishima, just the calmness and serenity in your voice put him at ease, he knew he wouldn't be bothered if you ever approached him, and it seems, he was right.
You eventually ended up sitting next to him on the stairs, your head only centimetres away from his shoulder as you watched him play. "Ne, Kozume - san" you started, only to be interrupted by him "Kenma is fine" you were slightly startled at first, to have someone you had barely known already insist on calling you by their first name was rather different for you, but then you remembered that pretty much everyone you had heard talk o him would call him Kenma so maybe that's why.
"Alright then, Kenma - chan-" you stopped. It seemed to have just slipped, what you called everyone in your old team, everyone had - chan at the end of their name, male or female, young or old. The word hadn't left your lips since you were thirteen, so why now?
Kenma too seemed rather startled at first, his name never having any other honorific other than - san or -kun, - chan was a bit different to him, yet, he liked it.
"It's ok" he said "Kenma - chan is alright" whilst saying that he smiled slightly, a tint of pink on his cheeks, but continuing to look at his screen. You smiled too, glad you could use that honorific again with someone you could be friends with.
And that's how the evening went for the two of you, smiling and giggling with eachother, even Kuroo stayed away, wanting his best friend to socialize with another and he looked at the two of you in awe, knowing you could be there for Kenma too.
In the end you ended up exchanging numbers with most of the other players, and promised Kenma you would play Animal Crossing with him at some point, to which he happily agreed.

(A/n) - That was the longest chapter I have ever done and i'm proud. Also my dad has started singing BTS what should I do? Every second of the day is me hearing "NANANANANANANANA LIGHT IT UP LIKE DYNAMITE" and i'm mentally scarred. He also said whichever kid shows up in 1:55 of Dynamite looks like a girl and he was genuinlly confused whether mans was a male or female. Personally I don't listen to BTS but this was tragic, I hope anyone who listens to kpop can have a full recovery after hat I've just shared.
