Narrator's pov

"I don't wanna gooo" Ethan's muffled voice escaped through the pillow his face was buried in
"You have auditions to get to!" Kate yelled
"Oh- oh yeah I do. Fuck!" Ethan hissed as he propped himself up
"And you're gonna be late for work" Kate spat as she slapped a pillow across Jamie's head
"Wha-WHAT" Jamie stammered as she rose from the bed
"Get up, you guys" Kate groaned
It was the next morning of their little sleepover, last night was hectic which resulted in the two teenagers passing out at 3am after swallowing three bottles of wines and spill every secret that Kate held dear to her heart
Especially the one time she made a Valentine's Day card for her PE teacher but the woman was married with three children
"What time is it?" Jamie groaned as she rubbed her eyes
"8-"
"SHIT" Ethan and Jamie hissed at the same time, finding that adrenaline to pull them off their beds
"Water is already running, Jamie you can shower in my room" Kate rolled her eyes
"You're a doll, thanks" Jamie giggled as she ran past Kate's frame that was leaning against the doorframe
The brunette smiled at her two friends that were scampering around to start their day
She made her way over towards the kitchen where they'd maid had already started cooking since 6am for the teenagers. Autumn was still no where to be seen after Ethan tried to give her a lap dance last night
"Morning Ms Wilson" the woman gave her a warm smile
"Morning" She mumbled, making her way towards the table
"Ms Wilson, I.. I'm not sure if something I said may have upset you last night but I saw that your mood had changed since then. If it was something I said then I do apologize dear" She mumbled, a small smile spread across Kate's cheek
"No no. You don't have to apologize" Kate chuckled
"But- why were you so..?"
"It's.. Just something I was thinking about" Kate muttered
"Would you like to talk about it?" She asked
"Oh, I don't want to bother you with my troubles" Kate chuckled
"Nonsense dear, I have all the time in the world" The woman smiled sweetly as she turned off the stove, making her way towards Kate at the table
"Remember when you said you're accusomted to.. It? What does that mean?" Kate asked, the woman's eyes immediately widened
"Oh my, was that the thing that was bothering you?"
"It's stupid, I kno-"
"No no. It's not stupid, it's okay to feel and react. Especially when you're unsure of what you're doing" She said
"My mind went to places" Kate chuckled
"It's okay, you're allowed to think so. I mean, her reputation talks for itself. But there's more to the story than you'd think" The woman said
"Really?"
"Yep. I said I'm accustomed to it because I've seen the different places Ms Hester had her ex in the house. She's very.. Public when it comes to her pleasure" the woman chuckled
"Oh-" Kate's eyes widened
The sudden memory that Autumn had a girlfriend pulled into way into her confused mind. Of course the actress did it all over the house, of course.
"I've walked in many.. Many times on them and I am traumatized" the woman pouted
"Awwwwwww" Kate giggled
"Yes, laugh at my misery. Go ahead" She pouted again
"I'm sorry you had to go through that all over again last night" Kate chuckled
"Oh don't worry about me, my heart is still strong as ever" The woman said
"Has.. Um.. Has she ever told you why they broke up?" Kate mumbled
"Oh. I try to stay away from Ms Hester's personal life. But no, I have no idea. But.. Brooke was.. Um.. Different that's for sure" She said
"Different how?" Kate asked
"I.. Prefer not to get involved but just know she was different" The woman whispered
"Oh, I see" Kate gave a small smile
There was so much layers to Autumn that she had yet to peel, but she knew for sure she wanted to know more about the girl. Perhaps because of that small part inside her that felt those goosebumps everytime Autumn was near. She wanted to know every single thing there was to know about the girl, not because she was curious, but because she couldn't help the way she felt. And in the end, she could use the excuse of their orders by May to blame on her pushy questions
Kate felt a warm hand intertwine with her own, her eyes reached up to see the maid's fingers locked with her own. The woman gave her a small smile
"She's a good girl, Ms Wilson. But her life is complicated and it reflects on her. She just needs to be steered into the right direction" The woman mumbled
Kate smiled sweetly before matching her own coffee brown eyes towards the woman's
"I'm trying. I really am" she whispered
"You're also different, but in the good way" the woman said
"How so?"
"Because you're actually trying. You care" The woman said, Kate raised a brow at her words
"People don't try?" She questioned
"Most people find Ms Hester difficult to deal with. Especially with how pushy she can be sometimes. But no one has ever tried to understand her, neither has her ex" The woman said
Sad. It was truly sad. Kate couldn't understand how someone could easily give up on a person so easily. Sure she's had her times where she wanted to stab the girl in her heart like a vampire and bury her for a thousand years, but it was easy to let your emotions cloud your eyes. The fact is, Autumn is a talented woman who gets the job done, she's respected by many and loved because of that. It was simply sad that people wouldn't recognize her strengths and weaknesses because they gave up on learning them
"Has she been different?" the woman askedb
"She has, actually. Why'd you ask?" Kate questioned but the woman simply chuckled
"Isn't it obvious? She's comfortable with you" the woman said
When Kate smiled, it brought out that joy that rested in her soul. Those brown eyes would sparkle like sugar under the sunlight. So when the woman said that Autumn was comfortable with her, it brought out an even brighter smile that was hidden
"Really?" she chuckled
"Yes, really. I thought it was pretty obvious Ms Wilson" The woman smiled
"I.. I don't know, I just didn't notice it" Kate chuckled
"Because you're wrapped up with your little crush, aren't you?" the woman chuckled, Kate's eyes widened
"I don't have a crush!"
"Sure you don't"
"Bu- I don't!"
"Of course you don't. Suuuree" the woman chuckled
"But I don't!"
"Is that why you were naked on this counter with Autumn between your legs last night?" The woman asked, Kate's cheek then burned red
"Which reminds me, I need to disinfectant that counter" The woman chuckled
"I- am so sorry about that" Kate chuckled
"Oh don't worry about it dear, that's what I'm here for aren't I?" the woman said as she rose to her feet
But the thing that couldn't escape Kate's mind was the fact that the woman thought Kate had a crush on Autumn. She couldn't help but chuckle to herself at the thought of it.
A crush, such a schoolchildish word to use
Because Kate knew she didn't have a crush, no. It was nothing like that.
It was far worse.
