⚫️Julian's POV
I would never expect that after the meeting, I'll witness something that will partly change me.
I've seen Cassandra and Zayn hugging under the rain with only one umbrella.
"It's not romantic, guys! Stop it."
I have no idea what they were talking about but I also don't care.
Zayn won on that position and I ended up being the Vice President.
Cassandra hugged Zayn first but she also hugged me and I think that's all that matters.
He may be won but the game isn't over yet.
I came home stunned when my parents filled the living room with balloons.
There's also a banner saying "Congratulations, Julian!"
"I-I didn't get the position." I sadly told them while putting my bag on the couch.
Mom and Dad looked at each other and smiled at me.
Mom gave me this warm hug.
The supposedly cold and tough Julian became soft as I melt from that hug of hers.
"It's okay, Baby. We're still proud of how brave you are."
I also felt Dad's hand tapping my back.
"That's life, Son. Sometimes you win or you learn."
Those comforting statements coming from them really helps me a lot.
My attention caught the cake chilling at the table.
"You bought a cake?" I simply laughed.
"Of course! Let's eat?" Dad responded.
I was smiling and nodding at the same time. I felt like a kid.
We talked about stuff that we don't normally discuss.
⚫️Cassandra's POV
Final exam was just around the corner.
Everyone was planning for a group study and some wanted to study on their own.
For my squad plus Matthew, We want to study together.
We were all sitting on one of the benches at our university.
"Cassandra's place?" Zayn suggested and everyone agreed.
"Guys, I want to go somewhere. Buong summer na nga akong hindi makakalabas ng bahay eh." I reasoned out.
"Ha? Why?" Their eyes focused on me.
"Basta. I'm staying at my house for the half of the summer and then the rest of the days we'll visit Mamita." I informed them.
Even though Dad and I are in good terms now, I still need to be grounded for my actions.
"Actions have consequences whether it's good or bad." That's what Daddy said.
"Reminds me of her delicious foods." Catherine uttered and I smiled.
Last summer Zayn and Catherine was with me at Mamita's place. Every summer if they have time they will come with us to visit Mamita.
Catherine and Zayn's grandparents passed away that's why Mamita became their grandmother too.
"What about sa place nila Cathy?" Matthew suggested.
"Sus. Gusto mo lang ma-meet ulit magulang niya eh." Zayn contradicted. Instead of laughing, Matthew smiled.
"Yes, Sir. I do." Matthew replied and kissed Cathy's hand.
"Teka nga. Bakit ka sasama saamin? You're on the sports track. Iba naman ang subjects mo compared saamin." Zayn curiously asked.
"Pake mo, Zayn?" Cathy responded.
Tumawa si Matthew at pinipilit kong hindi matawa sa kanila.
Napipikon na si Zayn kaya naman nagsalita na ako. "Have you heard the new coffee shop? Dun na lang kaya tayo? 24/7 naman bukas sila."
"Linawin ko lang. Bukas ng sabado, Sa ganap na ika-isa ng hapon at walang mahuhuli." Pagpaparinig ni Zayn kay Cathy.
"Gosh. You don't need to speak like that. Hindi naman ako mahuhuli. Besides, I don't want to keep my baby waiting." Sabay lambing na naman kay Matthew.
Nakakaumay din pala makakita ng mga naglalambingan sa tabi mo parang ang sarap tadiyakan.
I went home and tried to chill at the backyard.
Mom is calling...
I automatically accepted the call.
"Hello, Love." She greeted smiling.
"How are you? You're coming back na next week ha." I kiddingly told her.
She became serious and replied. "About that... I think I'll be staying here a little longer than what I promised you. I need to do some important and confidential stuffs."
Before I even response I saw a man that looks like a lawyer approached her from behind.
Mom covered the camera of her phone that makes me so confused.
"I need to go na, Sweetie. Love you." She uttered and ended the call.
"Love you too." I whispered.
I put down my phone and leaned back at my seat.
I sighed heavily and waiting for her chats.
My phone received a notification and I immediately grabbed it.
"Oh. It's Tita Dawn." I whispered and checked it.
TITA DAWN:
Hi, Cas! I just wanted to ask if you're reviewing tomorrow for your final tests?
ME:
Uhm, Yes po. Bakit po?
TITA DAWN:
Good! I was wondering if Julian can study with you? Your Tito and I should help him kaya lang alam mo naman si Julian, He don't want us to bother him.
Hindi ako nakasagot kaagad nang magsalita si Dad.
"Ba't naka tingin ka sa pool? Lalim ata ng iniisip mo?"
"Aga mo ngayon, Dad."
"Ano ba name ng Dad mo?"
"Tama na, Dad. Ang corny mo na naman." I told him poker faced.
He laughed genuinely and asked.
"What are you thinking ba?"
"Si Tita Dawn po kasi. May biglang request."
"Oh? Minsan lang naman mag-request ang Tita Dawn mo. Pagbigyan mo na lang. Iyon lang pala akala ko nagbabalak ka na tumalon sa pool."
My eyes widen and speechless.
"Seryoso ka-" I was about to ask when his phone rang.
He excused himself and I left there groaning.
"If I let Julian come with us. I wouldn't focus because the two will be busy fighting against each other. Hay nako. Nakakaloka."
TITA DAWN:
Cassandra, Are you still there?
Oh fudge it.
ME:
Yes, Tita. Sure po. He can come with us. We set-up a group study po kasi earlier.
TITA DAWN:
Thank you, Cas! I knew I could count on you. Don't worry. Tell me anything you want. Bags, Accessories, name it!
ME:
Tita 'wag na po.
TITA DAWN:
I insist. Dali na, Cassandra.
I didn't replied at Tita Dawn instead I chatted my friends.
I asked if they will let me bring one more student on our group study.
They all agreed but I know tomorrow will be a chaos.
The next day was Saturday.
I was walking my way to Tita Anna's car when I heard a honk from a black car near our gate.
The window rolled down and saw Julian in a freaking slow motion.
I didn't mind that and approached him.
"Why are you here? I texted you the place na 'diba?" I questioned.
Hindi naman ako galit o naiirita.
"Sunduin daw kita. Mom's order." He coldly answered.
"Himala. Sinusundo mo ako."
"Mahiya daw ako eh ikaw nga dapat mahiya."
"Manahimik ka muna diyan at mamaya kita gagantihan ha? Papaalam lang ako."
I went back inside and saw Tita getting ready.
"Tita, Julian's waiting for me outside. Sabay na daw po kaming pupunta dun. Kaya kapag hindi ako nakauwi, Julian already killed me."
She chuckled and just told me to take care. I hugged her and went back outside.
I opened the door on the passenger seat and sat.
"Seatbelt mo."
"Ba't parang pilit."
"May sinasabi ka?"
"Wala. Ang sabi ko lang naman BAKIT PARANG PILIT."
"Malamang. You're only doing this because Mom promised you something in return." He told me and started driving.
"Kapal mo. Excuse me, I didn't asked anything in return po!"
"Kala ko may hiningi ka."
"Hindi ako ganon!"
"Hindi halata."
I was about to loose it. Hindi ata ako mamatay dito more like siya ang papatayin ko.
"Let's just listen to some music." Julian uttered and turned on the radio inside his car while I started chatting my friends.
"Susunod naman ay ang Passenger seat by Stephen Speaks. Kaya naman sa mga taong natotorpe sa mga crush nila. Confess-confess din kapag may time ha-"
Agad na nilipat ni Julian ang station. Bigla ko namang nahampas ang kamay niya.
"Hoy, Gusto ko dun! Ba't mo nilipat?" I contradicted and adjust the radio.
Sumasabay ako sa kanta habang nakatingin sa phone ko.
"Mainit ba?" He suddenly asked.
"Hindi naman. Bakit?" Napatingin ako sakaniya and I saw that he's sweating.
"Naiinitan ka ba?" Tanong ko at dali-dali niyang kinuha ang panyo niya sa bulsa.
Pinunasan niya ang pawis sa kaniyang makapal na mukha. charot.
"Hindi ah." Sabay tanggi nito.
"Nahiya ka pa." Ako na lang ang gumalaw sa AC.
"Sinabi ngang hindi." Naiirita niyang sabi.
"Welcome, Julian." Ngiti kong tugon.
Hindi ko alam kung anong meron sa mukha niya na namumula na. Galit ba 'yon, inis dahil naasar sa ngiti ko, o ano?
Nanahimik na lang ako hanggang sa makarating kami. lol meron din naman akong pakiramdam sadyang masaya lang inisin si Bh0sHxz jUli4n.
Everyone was already here.
Zayn and Julian's eyes met and the fight started again.
"Ba't nandito 'to?" Sigang tanong ni Julian.
"Hoy. Hindi ka naman kasama dito at ikaw pa talaga nagtanong niyan ha?" Sabi naman ni Zayn.
"Pucha guys." Nakangiting banggit ko sa kanila at nagtitimpi.
"Isa pang angal niyo. Uuwi talaga ako at magkaniya-kaniya na lang tayo." Banta ko. Umupo na lang ang dalawa at nagsimula na kami.
