I couldn't pass out, they wouldn't let me. Every time my eyes were on the verge of closing someone would kick me or throw freezing water over me.
My Father raised me to be stronger.......to fight to survive, but in those few short hours I felt like giving up. My Mate was dead, I was on the cusp on death myself. But I couldn't find it in me to fight for survival, not even the thought of my brothers was enough.
If anybody had walked in that room right at that moment, they would have seen a dead girl. I was laying on my back staring blindly at the ceiling, blood and tears mixing together making it hard for me to see. But I couldn't find the strength to even lift my arm to wipe the gunk away.
And the worst part? Not the beatings, but the fact that I had no idea why this was happening to me.
I heard talking outside the door and let a small whimper pass my lips. I don't think I could survive another beating.
