3rd persons P.O.V-
Leyla has been missing for a week. It's taken its toll on each of the Rescue Riders. They hadn't done a Rescue all week. It just wasn't the same without Leyla.... All the towns people were sad when they heard the news about Leyla. They were extra careful not to get into any danger knowing the Rescue Riders were really busy looking for Leyla. The Rescue Riders (mines Leyla) we're walking towards Chief Duggard.
"Hey Chief? Can we see your map? We need to look for Leyla." Dak asked Chief Duggard.
"Umm sure but..." Duggard said glancing away.
"But what?" Dak asked.
"Well... you might want to except the fact that she's not coming back..." Duggard said sadly.
"What are you talking about of course she's coming back. She... she's not dead." Dak's words sounded harsh by the way he talked but Chief Duggard knew better.
He could see the pain and fear behind Dak's emerald eyes. The pain of his sister not being next to him right now. The fear of his sister never being by his side ever again.
"Dak it might be hard to understand but" Before Duggard could finish his sentence Dak cut him off.
"There's nothing hard to understand, she coming back." Dak said with bite in his voice. He backed up and jumped onto Wingers saddle.
"Let's go." Dak muttered to Winger.
"Dak I didn't mean" The Rescue Riders didn't stay to hear what the Chief was going to say, they flew back to the Roost.
Dak slid off Winger saddle and onto the ground. "C-Can you believe him! He-He just..." Dak said with clenched fist. He was facing the other Rescue Riders.
"Dak... he might be right...." Winger said glancing away.
"We can't give up yet! Winger.... Leyla is practically your sister." Dak said looking at him.
"She is but..." Winger started.
"But it hard to face the facts." Summer said, knowing what he meant.
"What facts?" Dak said crossing his arms and glaring at them.
"The.. the blood." Aggro said quietly.
"Yeah..." Cutter agreed sadly.
"You guys are being really negative." Dak said with a glare.
"What do you expect us to do! We've searched everywhere!" Aggro said her temper rising.
"Guys don't fight." Burple whispered quietly. Though the other Rescue Riders didn't hear him or just ignored him.
"I expected you guys to not give up! We need to keep searching!" Dak yelled.
"Even if we find her, she'll probably be dead!" Cutter said.
That was it Dak ran off and into the roost. He keep trying to kick it the steps in anger.
"Where are you Leyla?" He whispered. He was in wet anger. As he kept kicking the steps.
"Why won't you break!" Dak yelled out in anger. He felt tears well up in his eyes. He let wet tears roll down his face. He felt Winger's wings wrap around his frail body. Winger was on his hind legs and his front legs wrapped around the sobbing boy. Dak turned around in the hug and clung onto Winger neck. All the other Rescue Riders joined in on the hug. They all stayed huddled together, sleeping until morning came.
Leyla's P.O.V-
"So tell me again, why can't I go outside?" I asked Darris.
"Because it's dangerous out there and you don't don't know how to fight. You also don't know how to use any weapons." He said. I mean he did have a point...
Darris was putting some herbs in a shelf
like thing in the cave. While Nora was doing her daily work out. There was a branch going across the top of the cave. She was doing chin-ups on the branch as of right now.
"Leyla has a point." Nora said jumping down onto the cave ground.
"Really?" I said surprised she was standing up for me. Or just generally agreeing with me.
Her guarded look came back on her face. "I'm just saying that because you need to learn how to fight. You can't just sit here all day being lazy." Nora said and crossed her arms. I sighed. How long would it take for her to trust me, or generally be nice to me?
"I guess we can start training her..." Darris said and glanced away seeming unsure.
"I can take her out hunting with me." Nora said with a shrug.
"You sure?" Darris asked.
"I think she looks sure." I said with a smile. I didn't want her to change her mind. I get up from my sitting position.
"So when are we leaving?" I ask.
"You can't go out like that." Nora says with an raised eyebrow.
"Like what?" I ask confused.
~~~Small Time Skip~~~
I look at myself, they put something like black dye on my clothes. It made my outfit look a lot less colorful. To be honest I kinda like it how it was before but I guess this will be better this way. I will able to blend in with the night well. It was the middle of the night, currently.
"Not bad." I say looking at myself.
"Ok then let's go." Nora said with a smirk. Not sure why she was smirking... is she planning to kill me? I decide to go with her anyway, I mean this could be one of the few times I go outside so lets hope I don't mess this up.
"Ok but... don't I need a weapon?" I ask.
"You need to see what's out there for yourself first." Darris said with a smile.
"Ok." I agree.
Nora signals me to follow her with her hand that had her bow in it. She had the quiver of arrows with her as well. When we came out of the cave we were developed in a forest of trees. The color of the trees were a darker of wood, With lush green leaves. There was green grass as well. We were walking through the woods silently or that's what I thought until Nora glares at me. She was in front of me in a crouched position, walking. I followed her lead by going in the same position as her. She had her hood on, well until she turned around towards me and pulled the hood down glaring at me.
"You have to be light on your feet. Every time you step I can hear you." Nora says. In stand up all the way forgetting that we're outside with wild dragons that can attack us at any moment. I walk up next to her so I'm on her right side. She also goes out of her crouching and into a standing position.
"So how do I be quieter?!" I whisper shot. I was starting to get annoyed at how she's always picking on me. How she hates my guts! I never did anything to her!
"Well I don't know! Try using your brain to figure it out!" She whisper shots as well. I was done doing this with her so I'm about to leave when out of the corner of my eye I see a dragon. A skrill! It seemed that it didn't know I saw it. How some like all the other dragons, I know what powers, strength, speed, and other things about it.
The skrill was a black color and its lighting was blue.
I have no idea what to do but it's like my body goes on instinct and I know I have to save Nora. My muscles automatically pushes her out of the way with myself. A lightning blast goes right above us, where we previously were. Nora immediately gets up and grabs my hand. We run fast, we find a trunk of a tree to hind in. The tree was hollow and must have been really thick when it was alive and heathy. We both easily jump in and stay silent.
I hear footsteps from something and then the footsteps retreating away. We stay quiet for a minute longer. I decide I should see if the dragon is still here. I was about to pop my head up but I see Nora's hand in a stop position. She knows more of what to do then me so I stop and wait. I see her put her hood up and stick her head up a fourth of the way out.
Why couldn't I do that? Then a peace of my hair falls in my face. I mentally smack myself. My hair is red, it would stick out like a speed stinger in a flock of rock spitters. Her black hood and hair would be better to blend in if the dragon is still there.
I see her climb out of the trunk, "You can come out now." Nora says in a whisper. I climb out of the tree trunk with ease.
I look at Nora and notice she's looking at me as well. Her hood is down again and I could see her now. Her blue eyes held sincerity. She had a small smile on her face and her muscles were relaxed. This was the first time ever she had looked at me like this. Like a... like a friend.
"You saved my life.." I she says in a low, quiet voice. My brain wants to say, 'it's what I do.' But I don't do that so I refuse to say that and just return the smile.
"Thank you." Nora whispers.
"Always, I mean that's what friends are for right?" I ask.
"Friends?" She says confused.
"Yeah, friends." I replied. I hope she won't snap at me for calling her a friend like she would usually do but instead of that the sincere smile never leaves her face.
"Come on, I have something to show you." She says and starts running. I have no choice but to follow her so I run into the forest. I see that we're back at the cave. What are we doing here?
"Why are we here? I know about this." I ask confused. Is their something wrong with her?
"Just come on." She says and signals me to come when she moved the bushes from the entrance that keep the dragons from finding it.
Once I'm in I see the familiar sight of home. Darris looks towards us with a questioning look.
"What are you guys doing back so early?" He asks confused. He has his eyebrow raised with a look of confusion.
"It doesn't matter." Nora said. They seem to look at each other for a couple seconds almost as if their speaking to each other through their eyes. Like...mind reading. A smile comes on Darris's face.
"You finally trust her?" Darris says, now a smirk on face. He talked like I wasn't there, though I didn't mind. I wanted to see how this would play out.
"Yeah." Nora muttered and glanced my way. She continued talking. "Here, give me your hand." I hesitate.
"Do you trust us?" Darris asks.
I immediately answer, "Yes." I put my hand out. I put my right hand out and they did as well. Our palms were facing upwards. I notice the they both have an X under their thumb. We're all in a circle.
Nora turned to me and said, "We are not friends, were sisters." While Nora was say that Darris gets out an knife, he uses it to carefully reopen his and his sisters X shaped cut. He stopped before he cut my hand. He looked straight at my eyes, almost as if he was searching my soul. He didn't have to ask, I already knew what he was going to say.
"Do it." I whisper. He nods and makes a cut on my hand in the shape of a X. It gave a small sting but it wasn't that bad. He made it deep enough so it could leave a scar when healed but not deep enough to leave any real damage. Their was a bit of blood but I think that's what he meant to do. Knowing what was happening I put my hand up and they did as well. We put our hands together, mixing our blood.
"We will make it off this island." Nora said.
"As siblings." I say.
"Together." Darris adds.
"We will never leave each other behind." I say. They both nod in agreement.
That was the night we truly bonded. The night we became family. Became siblings. That was the night the promise was made. That was the night I found my true family. I will never forget this.

Honestly I did have a temptation to make Leyla romantically involved with one of them but I decided to focus on more of the sibling bond between them. Which I thought was really cute! I am gonna make some moments of Leyla on the island that way it shows how much she's changed. The Rescue Riders might not come in the next few chapters for a while. I might have a small part of the next chapters of them in it and see how their doing. I'm not exactly sure how long I should make her at the island. Anyway Vote and Comment. Byeeeeeeee!
