Butterflies erupted in my heart.

You play the flute
The tune, so melodious and sweet
Making me forget everything as I rush to meet you.
Look what you have done Kanha!
You blocked our way while we were trying to cross the river to the markets of Mathura claiming your 'butter tax.'
Grabbing our wrists so gently and playfully,
We felt seen for the first time.
Look what you have done Kanha!
You called us to the forest to engage in your divine Rasleela.
How lucky we have been!
The forests which are wild are now tamed, each branch, each twig dances to your tune.
Look what you have done Kanha!
You wiped our tears as we begged you to not leave us, giving us a promise to come back which has now become the only ray of hope in our lives.
O Mohan!
We now enact your pastimes here,
We chant your names every time of the day, we talk to each other only about you.
It feels as if you are still here and
In any moment you will arrive in front of us, smiling mischievously and doing your pranks.
