Eric's PoV
I sat in class with my best friend Bruce next to me.
"So.. as you know, you will have summer vacation in 3 weeks. I wanted to tell you that next friday is prom."
Our teacher announced happily.
I sighed. I won't get a date anyway. So I'll just stay at home.
The lesson continued normally, except some girls talking about how excited they are.
Then the bell rang. Everyone packed their stuff together and headed out to lunch. Bruce and I walked out of the classroom and we saw our friends Ace and Peter talking to each other. Both of them were blushing heavily.
I smirked because I exactly knew what was going on.
"So.. do you have anyone in mind? For prom.." I shook my head.
"Nah.. Nobody wants to date a guy that is shorter than them." I laughed.
Bruce chuckled and mumbled something. "What did you say?"
"Nothing!"
We went to the rooftop and sat down.
Suddenly I saw Jake coming towards us. "Hey freaks, no date for prom huh?" I tried to ignore him, until he grabbed my collar and held me up.
"I asked you something!" He screamed angrily.
Suddenly someone grabbed my waist and put me on the floor.
"Stop it Jake! If you touch him one more time, I'll make sure that there's no tomorrow for you!!" Bruce screamed.
Jake starred at him in fear. Bruce was taller and stronger than him. He knew that in a fight, he would lose immediately. "I.. It won't happen again!" He said, running away.
I sat on the floor crying. Bruce turned around and knelt down. He hugged me and stroked my hair.
"Come on Eric.. He's gone.."
"But he'll come back!" I said, sobbing slightly.
Bruce frowned. "And when he does, I'll be there to protect you."
I sniffled and laid my head on his shoulder. We stayed like this for about 3 minutes, until Ace and Peter came towards us. "Hey guys.. Eric what's wrong?" Peter asked.
"Jake.. He scared him." Bruce replied.
"Jake?! I swear to god I'll kill him."
I smiled lightly. "You guys are the best friends anyone could have."
Bruce, Ace and Peter smiled.
"Thanks Eric, you too." They said at the same time. I sat up and Ace and Peter sat down next to us.
"So you guys are each others date?" Bruce asked smirking.
Both of them blushed and nodded.
"Finally.. You two have been crushing on each other since forever." I said.
They blushed even more.
"And what about you guys?"
"What do you mean?" Bruce asked. "Will you go to prom together?" Ace asked. "What?! No! We're just friends!" I yelled, cheeks turning pink.
"Yeah yeah, sure thing."
(Timeskip till next thursday)
Bruce's PoV
I looked at myself in the mirror.
I wore a red shirt, tight black jeans and my favourite leatherjacket.
I hope Eric will like it..
After i took the roses i left the house and walked to our meeting point.
I waited a few minutes, until Eric came. My breath hitched.
"Hey Bruce, what do you have roses for?" He asked.
"Uh.. They are for.. y-you." I replied handing him the roses. He took them and blushed.
"F-For me?" I nodded slightly.
"I..wow..Thank you Bruce."
He smiled and hugged me. I hugged back. He took his head off my shoulder but kept his arms around my neck. I blushed when i noticed that my hands were still on his waist.
Eric's PoV
It seemed like the perfect time to tell him my feelings. Yes.. today is the day.
"Bruce.. I have to tell you something.."
Bruce looked into my eyes. "Yes?"
"I.. I don't know how to say it."
"Just say it.''
I gulped.
"I love you!"
I pressed my hand on my mouth.
Bruce froze and was shocked.
"You.. love me?" He asked.
I sighed and nodded.
"Yeah.. ever since I met you, I thought you are the right one."
Bruce was silent. "I understand if you don't feel the same way.." I said quietly and looked down.
Suddenly I felt lips pressing against mine. I gasped in shock and my eyes widened. After a few moments I kissed back and closed my eyes.
Bruce let his hand slide into my hair, and I lightly stroked his cheek.
After what felt like hours, we pulled away and looked at each other.
Bruce smiled.
"Well.. I do feel the same way. And I actually wanted to ask you if you will go to prom with me."
I was shocked. "I.. Of course! But.. there are so many pretty girls..Why me?" Bruce laughed. "Eric, look at these girls and look at you."
"Yeah, exactly!" I replied.
"They are nothing compared to you." He said, still smiling. I was speechless.
Bruce kissed me again and I snapped back to reality and kissed back.
After a minute we pulled away.
"I love you Eric." He whispered against my lips.
"I love you too." I smiled, eyes shining.
Timeskip to the next day
Bruce's PoV
I brushed my hair and looked at the time, 17:23. Ugh. I looked at my clock again, 17:25. Seriously?
It continued like that until it was 17:50. I grabbed my keys and almost jumped into my car. I drove to Erics house and waited a few seconds, staring at his door. Suddenly the door opened. I saw Eric and my jaw dropped.
(Eric: left Bruce: right)
He looked absolutely stunning! I got out of my car and he came towards me, looking at me sheepishly.
"Wow.. you look so beautiful." I gasped. His face lit up and he blushed. "Thanks, you too." I opened the door and he got in. I hopped in and started driving.
"Soo.. How do you think will our classmates react?" Eric asked.
"Don't know and don't care. I'm proud to be with you and I don't care what other people say." I replied. Eric smiled widely. "You're so adorable."
I smirked. "Thanks my love."
We arrived at our school and got of the car. I grabbed Erics hand and he blushed, squeezing my hand lightly. We walked into the gym together and immediately felt all eyes on us. Including Ace, Peter and.. Jake.
Peter and Ace came towards us.
"Just friends, huh?" Ace smirked.
"Oh shut up." Eric mumbled and I laughed. We sat down on a table, Eric and me were still holding hands.
Suddenly someone tore our hands apart. I turned around and saw Jake.
I growled and stood up.
"What did I tell you?" I asked angrily.
"What do you me- Oh.. I- Bruce please have mercy!" He whined.
I sighed. "You have one last chance. Now get lost." I replied warningly.
He nodded and ran away.
I sat down again and wrapped my arm around Erics waist. Eric looked scared, but he calmed down as soon as I held him. "God you guys are a dreamcouple." Ace said. We laughed.
"Thank you, you and Peter too." Eric answered. Both of them blushed.
"Stop looking at each other so stupidly and kiss." I laughed. They blushed even more but slowly leaned in and kissed. I heard Eric silently freak out and smiled.
I heard a slow lovesong and stood up, grabbing Erics hand again and dragging him to the dancefloor.
"Bruce I.. can't dance." He blushed and looked away. I smiled softly.
"It's okay, just stay here with me."
He nodded and wrapped his arms around my neck. I put my hands on his waist. We danced slowly and never broke eyecontact. "My babe." I said quietly. Eric smiled. "Only yours."
