Friday,

Colby walked out of his house after shutting the door, on his way to his motorcycle for planning his day. He has decided to plan a special day for only Sam and Colby. He wants to go to some of the blond boy's favorite places for spending time together.

Colby hops on his motorcycle as he's putting on his helmet on his head. He turns it on and drove off on his way to Sam's house. Colby felt the cold wind in his face but choose to ignore it since he's used to it. He never drove his bike in winter because it's way too cold. Every winter, Shea has a car and she usually picks him up because he might get sick if he drove it in cold weather.

Sometimes he complains to Shea how much he misses riding on his motorcycle because he can't drive for the next 3 months. Plus Colby wants to be safe just in case if there is any snow or ice since it's really dangerous. He would get a car of his own but he's not much of a car person because motorcycles are his thing.

Eventually, when Colby got there pulled up on a driveway of Sam's house. He turns off the vehicle as he takes out the key. He walked towards the blond boy's porch. In his front yard, he has a garden filled with bushes and little trees but no flowers since it's too cold for them.

Colby walks up the step on his want to the front door. He took a deep breath for calming his nerves. He pressed the doorbell as he waited for someone to open the door. He looked around patiently for killing some time. Colby looks at his Apple Watch for the time; it's 11:45 am.

He usually doesn't wake up early on the weekends but he wants to spend a whole day with him as much as possible. Colby is pacing around a little for entertaining himself and soon he hears footsteps from the inside. He stops as shortly someone opens the door.

"Colby? What are you doing here." A boy with blond shiny hair looks at Colby in confusion and leaning against the doorway.

"Hey, I was wondering if you have any plans today."

"Um... not exactly." Sam lifted his eyebrows. "Why? What's up?"

"Because let's have an adventure with me." Colby smiles brightly. "So are you in, Blondie?"

Sam looks at him blankly for a minute. He thinks for a minute whatever if it's a good idea. But what could have happened? "Okay."

When the two boys sit down in a booth at Sam's favorite restaurant, Kate's Kitchen, he has always been there when he was a kid. It's been a while, but he didn't know when is the last time he had been there.

Colby feels a sneaky glance from Sam, but the blond boy quickly looks away and continues to look at his menu. Colby smile when he saw a tint of blush from his cheeks, he couldn't help but thinks it's adorable. He looked down at his menu before Sam noticed, acting like he's been looking at the list the whole time.

After they get done ordering. Sam took a sip of his drink. He picks up his phone once he scrolls through the text messages when he messaged Kat like 4 times but she didn't text him back.

He sighs silently and puts his phone down on the table waiting to focus on Colby. He doesn't want to be rude or ruin the day because Colby wants to spend with him. Just for two of them.

"Okay, Brock." Sam leans back against the booth as he looks at the boy sitting in front of him and crosses his arms. "What is going on..." He said in confidence.

"Just want to hang out because I'm a good guy." Colby lightly smirks watching Sam roll his eyes.

"We have been seeing each other all the time. We have been hanging out with our friends and with the other students at the rehearsal."

"That's the thing, Sam." Colby chuckle about him not understanding what the whole day is important to him. "I want to spend a day alone with you."

"Always been a cheesy motherfucker." Sam is sarcastic and raises his eyebrows playfully. His voice was usually dull and kept a straight face but it doesn't mean he can't have a little bit sense of humor. Sam leans in facing him properly. "Some things have nothing changed." He whispered and takes a sip of his water with a straw. After that, he gave Colby an affiliation smile.

Colby let out a breathy chuckle after hearing Sam's comment knowing how he is. He is truly excited to spend a whole day with him; going to some of Sam's favorite places and maybe asking him if he wants to somewhere else's. Either way, they both had an outstanding time.

❦❦

Colby has decided to take Sam to a Winnwood Skate Center, it's the only place the blond boy has never been. He remembered it was one of Sam's bucket lists before they went to college. They make a list when they were like 10 years old and Colby thinks it's a perfect time for Sam to complete his list.

Sam's reaction after he gets off of Colby's motorcycle, he raised his eyebrows as he's looks surprised when Colby remembered his old bucket list. Sam glance at him who has a cheesy smile on his face. The blond boy has a neutral reaction but he's shaking his head while he has an affiliative smile, couldn't believe Colby remember it. They walked towards the front window beside the door, for paying their tickets.

The moment they walked inside of the building after Colby paid for their tickets, the music is extremely loud playing 80s music, the lights are flashing around from each direction. Both of the boys go up to the stand for renting their skates.

There's a fence between the long hallway and the rink; separating for their safety. Some people in the hallway who's watching their families or friends skate. And some of them are taking a break for drinking water and cooling off. Sam and Colby's boys sit down on a wooden bench when they put on their roller skates.

Eventually, after Colby is finished tying his roller skates properly. He saw Sam is struggling with his shoelaces and keeps failing miserably. He walked towards the blond boy decided to help him out.

"Hey, you need help?" Colby kneels in front of him as he's waiting for Sam's permission.

"Please." Sam ran his hand through his hair with a bit of frustration but he hides it because he doesn't want to make Colby worry.

Colby makes sure that Sam's heel is secure and comfortable at the back or bottom of the boot. He loosens the laces of the skate, all the way to the bottom as he tying his laces properly.

Once Colby was finished, he stands up and stepped back for giving Sam some space for him to stand up. He doesn't want to pressure him or rush him. He glances at the blond boy trying to stand up but his skates keep moving rapidly causing him to fall.

"Hey, do you need a hand?" Colby asks with a smile brightly and he takes out his hand to Sam.

Sam looks at him blankly for a moment, whatever if he should let Colby help. He feels his heartbeat being slightly nervous because earlier he's seen a couple holding on to each other and holding hands. But he doesn't want to spend a lot of time on the bench since Colby pays a lot of money for him and surprises him with his bucket list. "Sure."

Sam took Colby's hand who's pulling him up straightforward. He's not to remove his hand for not wanting to fall again. Sam took his deep breath not wanting to overthink. Sam looks at a boy in his usually neutral reaction, ran his thumb on Colby's hand making he's ok.

"I'm ready."

"Are you sure?" Colby said while he glances at Sam but the blond boy nodded with a simper.

Their skates begin to roll towards the skating rink filled with crowded people, carefully not requiring to bump into anyone. Colby doesn't want to let him go causing him to fall until Sam is ready. He keeps holding his hand until Sam is ready too.

Sam never knew he's not very good with skate but it's his first time. Sometimes first time can be very hard but soon it will get better. He didn't mind, he's not the only one who can't skate; some things don't mean for people if they're not good at something. Sam felt someone closer to the ear, making his heartbeat were racing again and...

"Hey, do you want to see something cool?" Sam sighs relief when he hears Colby s voice. He glances up at him making him confused. "Um... sure. I guess."

It happens so fast when Colby took Sam's other hand as he swings him in front of him, so Sam is facing Colby while the blond boy is skating backward. Just in time for the lights turned off a little but the neon light and the disco ball flashing around the dancefloor. The music is turned the boogie song Wanna Be Startin' Somethin By Michael Jackson

His lips parted at the moment when Sam was not unexpected. Sam slightly raised his eyebrows at him he never knows Colby is filled with surprises until today. He wonders if there's any more that he never knew about Colby. Maybe someday will happen, but what happens it will be sooner than he expected?

"Are you having fun?" Colby smiled at Sam's reaction.

Sam glance at him with a simper and nods. "Y-yeah, it's amazing. Thank you, Colby." Sam assured.

Suddenly. Colby tries to stop skating but he spilled backward while their hands are still connected, accidentally causing both to feel down. Sam is on top of him as he's slightly panting not knowing what just happened.

"I'm so sorry, Sam. Are you ok?" Colby stammered. Looking at him worried but when he glanced at his eyes trying to find his reaction but he found none. He's unreadable. Needed to ask if he's ok.

"I'm okay," Sam whispered. He grabs the railing trying to stand up, once he realizes he's still on top of him and his hands are on Colby's built chest. He grabbed his hand attempting to help him up from the ground. "You ok?"

"Yeah. I'm sorry, I think my skates are a little messed up for some reason." Colby chuckled as he's running his hand on the back of his neck.

"It's ok." Deciding to calm him down and try to show Colby that he's is alright. "It's kinda nasty fall. Are you sure you're alright?"

"Yeah! Yeah. I uh..." Colby clears his throat. "I'm alright." Colby smile slightly. Leaning against the railing, looking around.

"Hey, do you want to get some pizza?" Sam requested. "There's a pizza stand at the snack bar if you want, instead of driving around." Sam chuckle silently at the last sentence.

"Yeah, sure. Sounds good." Colby smiled at the blond boy.

Sam is at the cafeteria in a specific snack bar as he's waiting for the boy to bring some pizzas. He decided to stay behind for saving a seat while it's crowded with people to get something to eat. He has his hand resting on his cheek while his elbow is on the table, he's staring at his table in neutral, thinking about what just happened earlier at the rink. Was it an accident? Or does Colby wants to be closer to him?

His stomach feels weird whenever he's closer to Colby. He doesn't have those feelings, ever since Colby said he has a date with another boy. He remembered the story that Kat told him about how she finds out about her sexuality. His vision became a flashback.

"Me and my friends were hanging out as we're planning for a sleepover, Grace brought a friend over. We're watching a movie and Violet sitting down next to me, I couldn't help but feel a weird pit of my stomach." Kat looks down as she fiddles her nails when she's speaking. She glances at her best friend and smiles at him.

Sam jumped and snaps out of his thoughts when he heard a slight slam from a tray. A person sitting down in front of him. He feels his heartbeat so fast from the jump sacred.

"Hey, are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm..." Sam paused while glancing at him blankly. "I'm just thinking. And you kinda startle me."

"Oh." Colby lets out a breathy chuckle. He sets down a plate piece of pizza in front of Sam.

"Colby, have you ever gotten nerves before?"

"Yes, I have."

"How do you manage to get rid of them." Sam takes a bite of his pizza, while he's listening to Colby.

"Shea taught me how to calm down whenever I get panic attacks..." Colby replied when he looked at him confused. "In my sleep, it's a long story." He takes a bite of his food and glances down.

The blond boy seems confused, Colby never had any of those panic attacks when they were friends. Sam is trying to get a puzzle piece together trying what happened those years of Colby's lifetime. A month ago, he found some Colby's pills, he got depression, his parents spilled, and panic attacks in his sleep. Something bad happened to Colby? Did he upset when his parents told him about the divorce?

"Sam!"

"Hmm? What?" Sam flinched a little and snaps out of his thoughts.

"I've been calling your name like 5 times. Are you sure you're ok?" Colby looks at him weirdly as he takes a sip of his water.

"Sorry, I've been distracted." Sam shook his head, let out a breath escape from his lips. He feels bad when he's thinking about Colby's past life, rather than spending time with him. Maybe he shouldn't be jumping any conclusions until Colby is ready. "So anyway... what breathing exercises when Shea taught you?" He said in a soft voice.

"Take a deep breath when you close you're close and think about happy thoughts. About the best memory that you ever think of, wherever makes you happy. And then let it out. Repeat until if you are fully calm."

"Mm," Sam hummed as he's slightly nodded. He takes a last bite of pizza.

"Why, what's up? Do you have any nerves lately?"

"Every once in a while. Usually, Kat calms me down but I want to know if you have any tips for me. So, I can do it on my own if she is not there with me. I think I'll try that next time

"I'm glad to help," Colby smile slightly. "So, is there anywhere you want to go after this?"

Sam picks up his phone from the table looking at the time 2:15 pm. He didn't realize they have been there for two hours. "How about a festival? I heard that today is the last day and we should go before it closes down."

"Yeah, sounds good." Colby smiled brightly.

❦❦

When the two boys have arrived at their location, they have entries in the crowded people who walk around the large pathway while they're waiting for the huge concert tonight. A couple of the bands playing supposed to be playing with their popular songs and some crowds of favorites.

When Sam and Colby went to a festival when they were younger with their parents. Always playing some games together, and they did everything together. One night, they both sneak away from their parents while they're distracted. The two boys went to a Panic! At The Disco concert for listening to a couple of songs and after they watched some fireworks.

When their parents found out about sneaking off, without telling them where they are. Sam and Colby were grounded, and their punishment is no phones or any other electronics, which mean they can't talk together. They were 12 years old back then.

Sam and Colby wander around the pathway to the food court. The blond boy is eating the cotton candy which Colby paid for and continue walking around, Sam looks at Colby who is busy texting someone for the past hour. He was so confused. Is Colby finally sick of him? Bored of him? And not wanting to do within his life?

Sam shook his hand when he's overthinking, continue eating his cotton candy. "Ain't you little Mr. Popular." Sam sarcastically jokingly.

"Shut up." Colby rolls his eyes while he's chuckling. He's putting his phone in his back pocket. "I'm letting my mom where I'm at, so I'm not kidnapped or anything."

Sam doesn't know why but he feels like Colby is lying. He knows he never lied till he saw a video of him and Evelyn. But this time, maybe Colby is hiding something from something and he doesn't know why. He has been kept texting Kat but she didn't pick up. She always called him whenever she missed text messages and told him what did he needs.

He's assuming that she was busy with her girlfriend and he understood she wants some time alone with her. She deserves privacy since she has been waiting for Devyn to ask her out. it's been 5 months when Kat is waiting for.

"Colby?"

"Yeah?" Colby looked down at him as he's listening.

"The whole thing with Evelyn. Do you remember when I don't want to be part of taking him down?" Sam said softly.

"Yeah, what about it?" Colby furrows his eyebrows.

"I changed my mind." The blond boy spoke. "I think, I want some revenge. For what she did to our friendship."

"Wait- what?!" Colby stops walking causing the people who bump into him and telling him to watch where are you going. He rolls his eyes at the random person's comment. He takes Sam's wrist and begins to walk towards one of the food stands, giving people some space. "Sam, are you about this? You don't have to do this"

"I know but I want to. Like what Shea said, what if she did never stop?" He whispered.

"We can think about-"

"No, Colby," Sam said slightly frustrated. "I made my decision and I don't want her ruined everyone's life." Sam realizes he snapped at him all of sudden.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to snap at you." He speaks lowly.

Colby heard a tone of his voice at the end, knowing he didn't mean to. "It's ok, Sam." He whispered as he pulled him into a hug, making Sam for calming down. He doesn't blame the blond boy for his emotions. Everyone has a hard timing controlling their emotions, including overwhelming and frustration.

Sam's arms wrapped around his neck, he buried his face into Colby's shoulder for melting his anxiety, staring at the ground behind him. His tears run down his face to Colby's t-shirt when remembering the time where he yelled at Colby in the practice room while they started to fight and it becomes a misunderstanding. He doesn't want to go back to yelling at him. Sam doesn't want to live in that past ever again.

❦❦

Later at 1 am that night. The two boys decided to stay a 5-star hotel (After they have some dinner and buy a couple of snacks and drinks in the lobby). It was a most popular hotel, some celebrities stay there for a concert from their tour.

Colby has been planning a day with Sam but he has a little help. Kat and Devyn are the ones who helped him. When he's at the festival with Sam, Colby texted Kat if she booked the rooms. But she accidentally booked a room with one bed. And as for Devyn, she packed the boys' stuff, so they can have fresh clothes in the morning.

The room is dark but they have a lamp on from the nightstand. They're laying on the bed and talking about the school play, the plan, and other random things. Until they both got quiet but it's not awkward or anything, it happens where they're enjoying each other appearance. Colby laying next to him and his head is on his shoulder.

Colby wants to bring up that night. The night when they were kissing. Colby wants what Devyn has; A relationship filled with love and passion. But what about Sam? What did he want? Colby glance at him trying to read him but it's really hard to tell since he's unreadable. This is harder than he thought. He has no choice but asks him.

"You know," Sam decided to break the silence. "Even though I don't know how to show it. But... I have fun today." Sam continued quietly.

"I'm glad." Colby smiled at himself. "I knew you were, but I have fun too." Colby plays Sam's dark rings in his hand for entertainment while staring blankly. He hears a heartbeat so fast. "Hey, Sam?"

"Hmm?" Sam hummed. Looking down at him to his shoulder.

"About the other night at you're house."

Sam takes a deep breath for trying to calm his nerves. He never thought about the kiss since that night. He's thought it was only a one-time thing but he never knew Colby felt the same way. But Sam should talk to him, instead of avoiding him about the kiss. Sooner or later, he needs to talk to someone. "What about it?" He answered calmly.

Colby slowly turns over as he's facing Sam, almost but yet not fully hovering above him. "Have you ever thought about- I mean.." Colby sighs, trying to find the words to say. "Do, you want to want to try this?" He said softly.

"Try what"

It's not easy for Colby to confess his feelings or make a statement about Sam whatever if they should be more than friends or take it slow. Colby moved his finger between Sam and himself. "Us. Do you want to try...us?"

Sam looks at the boy blankly, his lips were slightly apart about Colby's question. He thought about if he should be with Colby. Or at least he should try to get used to the whole boy and boy thing. It's still new to him.

"I mean there's no rush or anything like that. I'm just asking because it's our first kiss..." Colby keeps rambling but suddenly he is cut off from lips were connected to another person's lips.

Sam's fingers run through the boy's messing hair as he's continuing kissing him before pulling away from the short kiss. Staring at Colby's icy blue eyes. He feels his heartbeat beating so fast but he chose to ignore it, forcing on the boy who's in front of him.

"Yes," Sam whispered. Keep his hands-on Colby's neck before he could answer but Sam beat him into it. "I think, I want this to try."

"You sure" Colby looks at him shocked. He honestly thought he would say no, but he's so glad that Sam gave him a chance.

Sam nodded while having him a slight smile. He pulled Colby closer to him causing him to hover above him, so their bodies made into one silhouette. Sam's legs are wrapped around his hips. His hands are on Colby's cheeks once started to kiss him again.

The blond boy truly wants this relationship a try but it takes some while for getting used to the whole boy and boy thing. He never felt this with a girl before. It's different with a boy, but it's a good kind of different. He's not sure if he wants to label himself because he's not so sure if he's still into girls or not.

Sam smiled throughout the kiss when he felt Colby kissing him back. It's was slow and sweet but not so greedy or sloppy. Colby wants this night to be special for a blond boy since it's Sam's first experience with a boy. He doesn't want to ruin anything but Sam appreciates either way.

The room is dead silent. Not have to worry about their parents if they barge into their room or tell them to keep the noises down. That's why Colby wants to book a hotel room, so they can have some time for talking and privacy as long as they needed. They turned off their phones so they can focus on themselves and not have to worry about the mean girl or their friend group situation.

The room is slightly dark, the only light source is a lamp next to the bed. They want to see each other and not make things any awkward just in case if one of them falls asleep or if they make out, their foreheads might bump into each other. They don't want their night any more awkward because their relationship is very new but even though they didn't make any official.

Sam took his breath away when he felt Colby's lips on Sam's neck. He ran his hands goes up is between the blond boy's waist and his shirt. He felt Sam's fingers roaming around on his muscular back and clenching his shirt. He felt his stomach twist a knot and trying so hard hold a moan. He's not sure if he's ready any further.

"Colby..."

Colby somehow didn't hear it and he still kissing him and his hands is still on Sam's waist. His body is laying down on top of him while he's in between his legs. Colby is deep in his thoughts on how to become his best friend since birth, rivals in high school, and best friend again. And now they're making out in the hotel room.

He found it possible when some people finding confused about their sexuality at any age. But he never thought Sam is questioning him. Colby was never against it but he thought Sam is straight, get a girlfriend, and have kids. But either way, he's happy for him. To be with him.

Colby.

But he doesn't know if he finds a perfect boyfriend if Sam is straight. But he has some preference for a perfect guy. Colby doesn't want him treating him like he's nothing. He doesn't want his partner to control everything he does.

Colby.

He wants his partner or future boyfriend to treat him like he's matters. Like he's worthy. He wants some ups and downs like a normal relationship but not emotional abuse or too many arguments. That's why he feels careful around guys. After all, he wants to get to know him because he taking the next step.

"Colby!!"

Colby snaps out of his thoughts as he looks down at his blond best friend, calling his name. His hands-on his shoulders look like he wants his attention but he's in deep of his thoughts. Colby feels kinda bad because he's thinking about 'what if's', the future, and the past. He wants to forget those for one night and focus on his blond boy.

"Hey, what is it? Am I hurting you? Too heavy?" Colby looks at the boy, he's looking worried.

"No, no, no. Of course not." Sam slightly squeezes his shoulders trying to calm him down. His hands moved to his dark violet purple hair and his palms cupped his cheeks. "I'm fine. I have an amazing day with you but I'm not ready for... you know."

"Oh, it's completely ok. You can... we can take things slow until you're ready."

Sam looks at his amazing bright eyes at the moment. He is very lucky when he had him in his life. They may have ups and downs but it doesn't mean he doesn't adore him any less. Colby is such a generous gentleman he has ever seen. Sam leans in and kisses his cheek. "Thank you." He whispered.

"For what?" Colby furrowed his eyebrows and his head slightly tilted.

"For everything," He responded lowly. He studied his face when he looks a little lost but it doesn't stop him has a cute smile on his pink plump lips. "for you are so sweet, honest and so loyal to me. You were so patient with me. And you being you." Colby giggled at the last part of the sentence. "Even though I was being an asshole to you but you never gave up on me."

"Wow, I never thought the Sam Golbach, the image of the badass, leather jacket boy said cheesy comments about me."

"Shut up." Sam rolls his eyes and has a small smile. "Anyways, it's getting late. Do you want to cuddle, and relax for a little bit?"

"Yeah, cuddle sounds nice." Colby smile brightly before he gently plops down on top of him and laid his head on his chest. Eyes close when he listened to his heartbeat, soothing him. His arms are on each side of Sam's body and his hand touches his arm. He plays his thumb on the boy's shoulder. He felt a pair of arms wrap around him, it makes him feel so safe and vulnerable.

He's maybe vulnerable and fragile but he's more like a dominant type of guy than a submissive. But tonight, he just wants Sam to hold him so he makes him feel so safe. Shea always held him whenever he needs some comfort. They don't do that more often but only if it's late nights and Shea thinks he needs some sleep. Never goes anywhere until he feels safe.

Sam stared at the ceiling when he ran his fingers into Colby's hair as he's thinking. He's assuming Colby is falling asleep since he hasn't moved an inch or talked to him. It's been a long day, making him extremely exhausted. Sam admitted that he's having fun with Colby.

Sam's eyes are feeling heavy, he should get some sleep or he will look like a zombie tomorrow. He gazed down at the boy, his body is breathing evenly and his eyes are closed. Sam moved Colby's hair away from his face. Sam closed his eyes and started to fall asleep.
