There was truth.
"Goddamnit, I fucking hate you!"
There was consequence against you, a weak defense -
"[Name]! Shut up! You're to go to the detention hall!"
"Oh? So I'm the one at fault? You're the one that invaded me!"
Then there's me, I'm seventeen looking for a fight.
The argument went back and forth between teacher and student, as Rin looked on, fists curling into balls, itching to throw them at the teacher. To protect you.
All my life I was never there, just a ghost running scared.
He couldn't though. He had to remain invisble. Nothing more than a wallflower. He was someone running. He wasn't someone who could fight.
Here our dreams aren't made–
"Holy crap, I thought he'd never stop," you muttered to yourself as you stomped out the door.
A moment later, something - or rather someone - caught your eye. Walking up to him, which went unnoticed by him entirely as his nose was halfway through a book, you could recognize that it was the kid that had wanted to start yelling at the teach with you, but hadn't. You could tell that he had been conflicted himself, but was scared of something.
Maybe he needs some help.
They're won.
Ignore me, ignore me, ignore me. Please, please, please.
His chants went unheard and the person who had walked up to him spoke.
"Oi."
Lost in the city of angels
He looked up and his eyes nearly betrayed his surprise at who it was. The angelic girl who he had fallen hard for. She was strong, caring, and definitely not afriad to be blunt to everyone. Not that it gained her anything, but she did it. He was the complete opposite of him, since he had came here. He was too scared.
He was lost in this city of different beings.
Down in the comfort of strangers
"I don't talk to strangers," was the first thing out of his mouth.
You grinned, already liking the new guy that had transfered here this year. No one knew him and no one would talk to him. Which was completely sad.
"I'm [Name]."
Silence.
"I'm Rin."
I found myself in the fire burned hills
"Hurry up Rin! You're gonna miss them!"
He hurried up after you, groaning. He plopped onto the ground, trying to regain his breath. A moment later, he sat back up, fully rested and examinded the plateu we were sitting on. You knew exactly what he was gonna ask when you saw a frown cross his face.
"What hap - "
"People," you replied, cutting him off. "We used to set fireworks off of here for July Fourth. One day, some idiots didn't use safety precautions and set the plateau on fire."
"Oh."
In the land of a billion lights
"Shut up and look!"
Rin looked towards the sky and what he saw amazed him. Purple and green wavy lights appeared. He had never seen something so beautiful before. He looked towards his friend for an answer.
"Aurea bolis. The Northern lights," she grinned back at him. "We always get them this time a year."
As she turned back to look at the lights, his eyes stayed on you. You were amazing. It had been only a month since you had kown each other, but here you were. You were showing him some of your secrets when I had barely told you anything about himself.
Maybe it was time.
Bought my fate straight from hell
"So Satan's your father?"
A simple nod from him.
You looked away from him and down. This was all too much to process. He was half demon and stuff. He was also an exorcist and was right now, on the run from some random group. But there was no way you were going to run away. Rin was Rin. Besides that, you had your own secrets.
Second sight has paid off well
"Okay. I get it."
Rin's head shot towards you, confused. He thought you'd run away.
She laughed at his confused face. "I have some friends that were exorcists, but I had never met a half demon before.Espeially the one that has Satan as his father."
So his gut had been right. He could tell her. Then again, his gut was always right.
For a mother, a brother and me
"You have a mother and brother too?"
He nodded and you smiled. That was just amazing. He was alive - somehow, someway - and sitting right in front of her.
"Well, my mother's dead now . . . "
Oh. There were going to be some casulties along the way.
The silver of a lake at night
"Eh? Is that a lake?"
"Huh? Oh yeah. Gray Lake."
The hills of Hollywood on fire
"Are those fires?!"
"Hold up! That's a bonfire party. I heard that there was going to be one this weekend."
A boulevard of hope and dreams
"Oh my god, the punch is spiked."
"So I've noticed."
You two laughed and then somehow stumbled your way into a nearby forest clearing. As soon as you hit the clearing, you accidentally tripped and then fell onto Rin, pushing both of you tot he ground. Whoops of laughter sprang from your lips.
Streets made of desire
His lips found yours and it felt so good in the thin frigid air. The spiked punch had warmed you up, but now it was starting to go down.
However, his lips were turning that feeling back on. Your hands found his hair, and his, your waist.
Lost in the city of angels
Down in the comfort of strangers
I found myself in the fire burned hills
In the land of a billion lights
I found myself in the fire burned hills
In the land of a billion lights
(Of a billion lights, of a billion lights, of a billion lights...)
"[Name]?"
A sleepy voice 'hned' back.
Angels
"I love you.
Angels
"Love you too idiot."
I am home, home, home, home
Wide eyes made his blue ones. "This is where you live?!"
"Yup."
"It's a fucking castle school!"
He grinned and grabbed her hand. Thankful there were plenty of students and that none were too interested in seeing who the hell they were, Rin led [Name] towards a single door in paricular. Hands shaking, he managed to pull out a familair key and put it into the lock. Unlocking it, he opened the door to reveal a hallway.
Rin's smile got bigger and, once again, grabbing her hand, he took off running down the hallway to a familair classroom. Skidding to a stop into it, he waved.
"Hi!"
"Rin?!" severel voice screaed.
Lost in the city of angels
Down in the comfort of strangers
I found myself in the fire burned hills
In the land of a billion lights
"You sure it was a good idea to bring your friends?" you asked.
Rin shook his head, grinning like a mad man. "Of couse not. But they insited on stalking me."
"Whatever," you muttered, as you leaned into his chest.
Shiemi was blushing, as Shima was pointing at something. The others were creating trouble as usual.
One life, one love live
One life, one love live
One life, one love live
One life, one love
"You got lucky."
Rin turned towards his brother and grinned. "I sure did."
"Love her?" Yukio questioned, worried for the sake of his older brother.
Rin turned back to his sleeping girlfriend who was currently resting her head in his lap. "Deeply."
The city of angels
The city of angels
The city of angels
As they drove away, Rin's eyes were glued to the city that had changed his life.
The city of angels

Guys, please watch the video to the side or above, depending on what device you're on. This video is just amazing. I love it. Most of these people nearly gave up up, came from the bottom, etc . . . They're just like us. Yet they've somehow made it. So why can't we?
<3 Thank you for reading this song fic.
