Gauri was walking to her class determined to follow what Bhavya had told her. Bhavya had given her the much needed boost to win her man she didn't love Omkara all these years just to give upon him. If Omkara doesn't bother finding out, who his real Gauri is then she is not going to tell him that she is his Gauri. All she has to do is be on her guard when she was talking to Omkara so he doesn't find out who she is. With that resolution in mind she walks towards her class with confident steps when she felt someone tap on her head, startled she turns back to see who it is and sees Omkara standing behind her with a smile on his face.
"Where is Madam President going?" Omkara asks.
"Madam President?" Gauri asks smiling happily.
"The way you were walking I thought you were someone very important." Omkara teases.
Hearing that Gauri starts blushing, yesterday Bhavya had drilled into her head about being confident with everything she does so no one realizes that she had something to hide, and she was walking in her most confident way.
Seeing her blush Omkara says "I was just kidding."
Gauri smiles.
"I was waiting for you." Omkara says.
"Me? Really?" Gauri asks unable to hide her excitement.
"I am sorry for what happened yesterday. I shouldn't have lost my temper like that in front of you." Omkara explains.
"It's okay." Gauri says smiling.
"I shouldn't have done what I did. I was bitching out on Gaur like some gossip aunty." Omkara says embarrassed. Gauri starts laughing hearing that
"I didn't mind that." Especially when it helped her.
"Aah! So, you like bitching huh?" Omkara asks with a twinkle in his eyes.
"No... no..." Gauri hastens to explain then seeing him grinning at her she realizes he was just teasing. "You were teasing me, weren't you?" Gauri asks with a frown.
"Yeah! Was just seeing how much more you will blush before bursting." he teases again.
"Omkara!" Gauri says in an admonishing way.
"Don't you know that you are supposed to call your seniors 'master' here?" Omkara asks her in a serious frown.
"Really? I didn't know. I am sorry." Gauri says seeing the angry look on his face.
Omkara starts laughing "You are such an innocent, Gauri." he says pinching her nose making Gauri blush even more. "Okay, I have class this hour; I'll see you around and once again sorry for the scene yesterday." Omkara says and in an apologetic way says "She brings out the worst in me." and with that he walked off while Gauri sadly smiled and then remembering the way he had pinched her nose she starts blushing, and smiling she walked to her class.
Gauri and Richa were walking around the crowded canteen with their lunch tray to find a table when she heard a shout "GAURI!" they both turn to the sound and sees Omkara waving towards them. They quickly walk towards him and seeing that Omkara's table had available seats.
They were going to sit when Omkara tells Gauri "Anyway you are walking up and down so can you please get me a cup of coffee?" Gauri gapes at him in shock, she thought he had called her so she could join them, and he wanted a waitress.
"Okay." Gauri says and was about to walk to the counter when Omkara laughs "I was just kidding, sit!"
Embarrassed Gauri sits and Richa follows suit.
"She is so gullible; believes everything I say." Omkara tells his friends laughing then turning a little serious Omkara tells Gauri "You shouldn't believe everything everyone says, Gauri."
"I don't believe everyone, I believe only you, Omkara." Gauri says with a shy smile.
Omkara's jaw drops open hearing her declaration while his friends start laughing and howling at Omkara, Ajay even patting him on his back. Omkara feels himself blush and trying to regain his composure he turns to Richa "Hi, I don't think we have met."
"No... I'm Richa."
"Omkara." "I know. Yesterday you were a hero." Richa says with a smile, Omkara just shrugs suddenly Ajay interjects "Gauri's hero."
"Shut up!" Omkara hisses under his breath and turns to see Gauri blushing slightly, quickly looks towards Richa and says, "These are Ajay, Dandi and Varun."
"Hi." Richa says towards them and they all reply back.
Then they continued to talk about college, and Omkara and Ajay started giving them tips on how to bunk classes, which all professors to watch out for, and from which all people they should stay away from. Though Omkara was much into his animated talk every now and then he would catch himself staring at Gauri who looked like she was hanging on to each word that fell out of his mouth, suddenly Omkara had a scary feeling that she could hear his unsaid words too. That WAS very scary.
The rest of the week went uneventful since Gaur glaring at Gauri, especially when she was with Omkara became a normal routine, it could be said that the week was uneventful. The next day also Gauri and Richa didn't get a table and they joined Omkara's table later on it became a habit to join Omkara's table along with his friends. Omkara's friends were very sweet to them and never treated them as juniors though Gauri and Richa had seen them ragging and bullying the other juniors. Omkara and she were getting on real well, and he still hadn't guessed that she was his Gauri, though he seemed to keep giving curious looks and at times she has caught him staring at her but then he will sweetly smile at her whenever she catches him watching her. There wasn't much progress that is, if Richa going bonkers over Ajay is not considered as progress, there wasn't much.
Now, they stood in the canteen trying to find Omkara and his friends. "They don't seem to have come." Richa says as she looked around.
"Then we will catch a table, come." Gauri says walking around looking for a table.
Five minutes later, they were stilling waiting for a table, now someone to vacate it.
"Why can't the professors stop teaching when the bell goes? They know during the normal class hours itself noone listens and what are we going to listen when it is the break?" Gauri and Richa hear Ajay's voice from behind them, and they turn to see Omkara, Ajay and Dandi walking towards them.
"Didn't get a table?" Omkara asks.
"No." Gauri replies shaking her head.
Omkara looks around then turning back to look at his friends asks "How many of us are there?"
"Five." Dandi replies.
Nodding his head, Omkara walks to a table which had a group of five guys sitting and says authoritatively "Get lost." They quickly get up and scurry out while Richa and Gauri watched in shock Omkara sits down as if he had every right in the world to do that "What are you two waiting for? Sit!" Omkara says as he noticed Gauri and Richa gaping at him even after Ajay and Dandi sat down.
"This is how you always manage to get a table?" Gauri asks shocked as she and Richa sat down with their lunch tray.
"D'oh!" Omkara replies giving her a weird look "Don't tell me you thought we come running and catch a table like you catch a seat in the bus or train."
"Well... I never thought about that." Gauri says.
"These are the advantages of being a senior." Dandi explains to her.
"But it is rude." Gauri says.
"Just because this is rude you don't expect us to give up on our advantages, right?" Ajay asks with a cheeky smile.
"And you being our friends you can enjoy all these advantages." Dandi gallantly tells them.
"But still..." Gauri says shocked and confused.
"Gauri, watch this." Omkara says with a grin and he snaps his finger and one guy runs and stands next to him "Go and find out today's menu." Omkara orders and the guy rushes to the counter. Omkara turns to Gauri and grins at her, suddenly she hears Ajay screaming "Hey you! Get me a pepsi."
Two minutes later, someone came to their table to give Ajay Pepsi while the other guy was standing next to Omkara and telling him the menu and he stood shifting from one foot to another while Omkara seemed to be lost in deep thoughts trying to make up his mind on what to eat. Finally he told the poor chap what he wanted and that guy rushed to get Omkara's lunch.
"Wow! You guys are like kings out here." Richa says awestruck.
"You guys are nothing but bullies!" Gauri declares and gets up to leave when Omkara catches her hand.
"Where are you going?"
"I lost my appetite." Gauri replies.
"Wow she has a temper." Ajay says grinning.
"She does!" Dandi agrees grinning waiting to see how Omkara will calm her down.
"Come on, Gauri. This happens, we ourselves have gone through all this, and this is just how our college is." Omkara says as he gently kept tugging her hand down to make her sit.
Gauri sits down with a frown "I won't believe that someone could bully you and you used to suck up to some people."
"He is really a hero in her mind...huh?" Dandi asks Ajay in a loud whisper.
"I wouldn't be surprised if she has a wallpaper of superman with Omkara's face pasted over his." Ajay replies making Richa giggle, Gauri to blush and Omkara to glare.
"As long as you take it in the right spirit and it is never cruel or over the top, it is fine." Omkara explains, "Our seniors used to make us do all these, but they were our friends too and whenever we were in trouble they were the first ones to come to help us. Like that even these guys know that we will never cause them any trouble and all these are just fun and a part of ragging."
Gauri frowns hearing all this as she tried to digest all that Omkara said, these people enjoy being bullied? Seeing her expression Omkara says "Nobody enjoys being bullied and when I said fun and ragging, I meant fun for us and ragging for them."
Hearing that Gauri starts glaring again at Omkara's cheeky smile,
"Just sit back and enjoy all these. Watch everyone being ragged." Ajay says with a smile.
"What makes you think that we are not ragged?" Richa asks him.
"You are our friends, we are super-seniors and everybody knows better than to mess with super seniors." Ajay replies.
"Is that why we were never ragged?" Gauri asks shocked.
"Then what did you think? It was because you looked like an innocent baby lost in the big bad world?" Omkara teases her.
"I look like that?' Gauri asks with her eyes wide.
"Yes." Omkara replies and then starts grinning.
Gauri realized he was again pulling her legs, so she says in a desperate attempt to have the last word "I still think that it is very bad of you to behave like this."
"We are expected to behave like this." Omkara says.
"What?" Gauri asks shocked.
"Yeah. It is kind of an unspoken rule that we should treat the juniors like that so it helps to bond more, make friends and also gives them a little taste of real life, you know how they should behave with their pain in the ass boss'." Omkara explains.
"Really?" Gauri asks shocked out of her wits and Omkara nods his head, after a lot of thinking Gauri says "If it is like that, then I think it is very nice."
Suddenly Omkara burst out laughing.
"Why are you laughing?" Gauri asks with a frown.
"You are such a dumbo, why do you believe every single thing I say?" Omkara asks back. Hearing the question Gauri blushes slightly then shrugging she turns her attention back to her food. Omkara with his left hand gently tugs on her cheeks and lovingly calls her "Dumbo." Gauri shyly smiles though she didn't know whether it was because he was touching her, or because he was looking at her so lovingly or because he called her dumbo.
The junior brings Omkara's lunch and Omkara comes to his senses and quickly pays him for the food and was about to eat when he realized that he had been holding Gauri's hand all this while. He had held her hand to stop her from going and now she was sitting and didn't look like she was going anywhere and he was still holding her hand. Oh God this is not good at all. Omkara quickly leaves her hand when he hears chuckling sound, he turns to look at his friends and sees Ajay and Dandi chuckling looking at his hand. They noticed, but he didn't.
A while later, Gauri and Richa decides to go to their class when the bell rang while Omkara, Ajay and Dandi stayed back lazily.
"Seriously, what is happening between you two?" Ajay asks. "I don't know." Omkara replies watching Gauri walk away.
"You don't know? So you know there is definitely something between you two?" Dandi asks.
Omkara turns to his friends with a confused look "I don't understand I feel this pull towards her. I feel special when she is with me, like I am with people who love me when she is around, and it is like she knows me and I know her." then he was lost in his thoughts suddenly he exclaims "Wait a minute!" then in a desperate excitement he asks "Is it me or her? Do you guys feel like that way when she is around?" Dandi and Ajay turn to look at each other and then shaking their heads at each other they get up and walk off. Omkara lazily gets up and walks behind his friends thinking about his strange behavior when she was around, then softly he whispers with a smile "Dumbo."
