Ariana's POV
After noting the room number I am going to attend, I decided to go and see Adrian. He just walked out 2 minutes before.
"Oh, you have to attend a patient all alone." – Elena exclaimed.
"Yeah, I know. This might be my test to check if I am ready to "face the world".
"Wait wait, you are DeCostello?" – Tyler asked shocked.
Oh, not again!!
"Yes, I am Ariana Grace DeCostello daughter of Nicholas DeCostello, the owner of this hospital." – I answered annoyed.
"Why didn't you tell us?" – He asked
"Guess what you never asked and I seriously don't want to be the popular one". – I informed him.
"Hey, you are really different from others. You don't like to flaunt your family name like it is an Oscar Award. You are not one of those snobbish rich whores there." – She told pointing to another group of girls standing there and flirting with others.
"No I am not and that is why I wanted to be friends with you. Anyways, now let me go and meet Ad.. I mean Dr. Martinez before he calls my brother and start whining".
"OK bye and all the best for your first day". They told together.
"Thank you and same to you. Bye" I waved to them and went to find Adrian's office.
I asked one of the janitors to help me and she showed me his office.
"This way Ma'am." - She showed me the directions.
I thanked her and finally reached his office. I stood outside for a good five minutes thinking of what and what not to say. Suddenly, a sound startled me.
"You can come in you know" – Adrian spoke.
How the hell did he know I am outside?
I cautiously opened the door and I fell in awe with the office. It was simple yet elegant.
"Good morning Sir". I wished him.
"Good morning to you too Ariana or Miss DeCostello. What should I call you?"
"Whatever you wish to call Sir. I am comfortable with both". I told him.
"I will call you Miss DeCostello while we are out of this room otherwise Ariana". He told me.
I nodded my head.
"When did you start calling me sir? I heard you calling me a jerk in the morning".
Oh! God did I call him that aloud
"No sir, I really didn't meant to call you that ----
"Oh! Is it? Was it a slip of your tongue"? He mocked.
"No sir, I never meant it in the disrespectful way and I am really sorry for calling you that". I lied.
"OK anyways, you were shaking while conducting the thoracotomy and that is not a good sign. You need to learn more and work harder. I want you to spend more time in the hospital learning both checking on patients and managing the hospital's financial and other works. Do you understand"? – He asked.
"Yes sir. I will spend more time in learning"
"Good. I will call you when you need to sign the documents. Be ready to face the world" He told me
What is with him and facing the world? Arghh.
"OK Sir".
Then I remembered something.
"Sir how did you come to know that I was standing outside"? I asked confused.
"I can smell your scent Ari" He said seductively.
I snorted, very unlady – like.
"OK, jokes apart. I have a camera outside the room and its video is playing in my PC".
"Oh" was all I could say.
"Now go and work otherwise I will call Uncle Nick or Damien". He warned.
"Can't you call Chris or Evan? They are much better than Damy". I asked.
"Yeah and then they will take your side. I know your family really well Ariana".
I chuckled and waved him bye.
"Ariana, one second".
I turned back to face him.
"You look really beautiful agape". He told me.
I looked at him with wide eyes.
Did he just compliment me? Oh, Lord please help me. The great Dr. Martinez called me beautiful. Wait a second, "AGAPE"? That means love in Greek. What is going on?
I blushed and muttered a thank you and ran away from his office.
OK that went well.
I then jogged to room number 303 to visit my first patient. Jesus, be with me. I prayed and entered the room to find my patient waiting for me in her bed.
"Hello, I am Ariana, your doctor. Are you Lillian"? I asked.
"Yeah, that's me and hello to you too". She said cheerfully
I asked about her family and took her vitals and blood samples for test. She had a type of rash in her body which I examined.
"Do you have any type of allergies Lilly"?
"No, I don't".
"Ok then I will bring the reports to you after I get it. Till then bye".
She waved me bye and I went to the lab to give hem Lilly's samples.
While walking to my next patient's room, I heard some kids crying and throwing a fit.
Then suddenly I heard someone calling me.
"AUNT ARI". She cried.
I turned to look at the kid.
"Anna"? I asked.
I see Dr Adrian trying to stop her from crying.
"Anna, baby what are you doing here" I asked her.
"Auntie I broke my arm" She cried.
"Do you know her"? Adrian enquired.
"Yeah, she is my friend's daughter". I told him.
"Can you calm her down; she is not hearing to me".
"Sure".
"Baby, don't cry. Where is your mom"?
"Her mom went with Flynn to buy the medicines" Adrian informed.
"Flynn? You mean Flynn Denise"? I asked.
"Yeah, you know him? So you also knew that he is her father?"- He asked.
"Yes, and I don't think he deserves to know it after what he did to Charlotte". I snapped.
"Is Flynn that uncle with mom"? Anna asked.
"Yes kiddo. Let's wait till they come back and your mom will explain you everything. Ok"?
"OK Aunt"
"Now be a good girl and allow Uncle Adrian to wrap your hands". Otherwise he won't let you play. You want to play right"?
"Yes"
"Ok then lets wrap it OK"?
"Dr. please do it. She will stay calm". I told Adrian.
Let Charlotte come back and explain Anna about her father.
