Neil finds himself having a trainer battle with the self proclaimed "rookie killer" Cheyenne, she wore a black and white dress and had long platinum blonde hair.
"Iyohohoho, another rookie to destroy! Come out Aurorus!" Cheyenne shouted.
From her pokeball a big blue dinosaur like creature on all fours appeared, having ice crystal like designs on it's body and a long neck, "Auroooooooo!" The beast shouted.
"Combusken it's your time to shine!" Neil sent out his impatient fighting rooster.
"Buskkennnnn!" Without a moment of hesitation the chicken ran towards her opponent with sheer speed.
"Ice beam let's go!" Cheyenne ordered and the ice beast shot out a blue beam from it's mouth, "russsss!".
"Dodge and use double kick" Neil commanded and his Pokemon dodged the attack with ease.
"Kennnnnn!" Combusken then landed two solid Hits on the dinosaur surprisingly knocking it out.
"So weak? Aren't you supposed to be the rookie killer?" Neil asked surprised that he had beaten her with a single attack.
"Well am the rookie killer cause I only take on battles I know I'll win!!! You ain't a rookie!!" Cheyenne shouted as she recalled her Pokemon and ran off.
Neil sighed as he approached combusken however, 'shiiiiiiiiiuuu!!!' a bright red fiery light engulfed the chicken in an instant.
"The hell?!" Neil shouted as he shielded his eyes from the powerful light, as the light vanished standing in front of him was a red humanoid bird.
It's body was a mixture of red, yellow and black, it's arms had scales and talons while it's long legs were covered with red and yellow feathers, it long feathery hair fell into two long dreads at it's back and it's beak was sharp.
"Combusken?" Neil asked but was answered with a new cry "Blazikennn!!!!!" The creature cried.
Neil took his pokedex and analyzed it.
Blaziken the blaze Pokemon
It's the evolved form of combusken
It uses it's fist and feet to perform incredibly powerful martial arts.
"Wow you've evolved huh, let's go to the Pokemon center and get your moves sorted out, am proud of you girl" Neil rubbed the back feathers of Blaziken to her delight.
Dandelion village
This was another small settlement, with gray houses and dandelion plants everywhere,the Pokemon league is also located near this village but the path is hidden in the forest, before exploring the village Neil went to the Pokemon center to check his Pokemon.

With that done Neil went exploring the village.
He entered one of the biggest buildings there to find out it was a fossil research laboratory.
As he entered all the scientists turned to attention and realized who he was.
"That's professor Neil!", "He saved the fossils from team delta back in the covelite ruins", " His definitely one of the strongest scientists out there!", "I'm breathing the same air as a genius! Annnn indirect kiss!" All these words of admiration sweep Neil as his personal space was invaded by a swarm of lab coat wearing nerds.
"Call down! I'm just here to check out some stuff!" Neil shouted but the crowd still surrounded him.
After the hassle Neil went to the head of the research lab "Ed" unlike the rest his lab coat was red and he wore a yellow baseball cap covering his bald head.
"It's an honor Sir, professor Ivan has told us a lot about you, if you need anything just ask us" Ed said with utmost respect for Neil.
Neil happy with this put the location on his map so he could return one day with a fossil, after heading out he noticed the second biggest building in the village door was opened, as he entered it to his surprise, standing before him was the mysterious red haired ninja.
"Professor, check the item I gave you earlier" the ninja said calmly.
Neil looked at the item and it was a large key.
"This place was built by master, it took severe damage but am sure you can fix it, continue your research Neil! My Master's gift to you is this lab!" after saying those words he vanished out of sight.
"The heck is going on anymore? Whatever if I'm going to beat team Delta, I'm going to have to use my mega device" with that said Neil went to work fixing the machines in the strange building.
An hour later
Neil clicked the start button on a laptop and...
"100% system operational mega device ready for use" a voice similar to that of his aide Tyra came from the laptop giving him joy.
"Alright Blaziken time to mega evolve!" Neil shouted as he sent out his fire bird.
"Blazeeeee!!!" Blaziken was hyped up for her transformation.
Neil took out a red stone from the mega device's slot and placed it on Blaziken chest.
'Twassssssssssssssss' veins began to grow from the stone as it morphed Blaziken's appearance, now her head feathers stood upwards and she had more black feathers, her scaly and taloned fists got fire tendrils wrapped around them. She had evolved into "Mega Blaziken" a much more powerful form than her normal state.
"Permanent mega evolution achieved! The only way to reverse it is to remove/destroy the stone, Mom am one step closer to achieving our dream!" Neil shouted as he fist bumped his mega chicken.
He then returned her to her ball and walked out of his new lab locking the door with his key, as he turned around a familiar face came to his vision.
"Yo long time pal I was just passing by what a surprise right?!" A man wearing mid evil attire akin with a sword said to Neil.
"Ah you're that guy from before in fescue city!" Neil recalled his first defeat,
"Yep that's me call me Jacob, by the way I have a message for Kasper if you see him, tell him 'be careful' ears are everywhere".
"(What does that mean?) Jacob? That's a code name isn't it? you're some sort of spy?" Neil pieced together.
"Huh spy? am not a spy?! Here let's battle I'll prove am trustworthy!" Jacob stated as he readied a pokeball.
(Hmmm, this won't be a repeat of the last time) Neil said in his mind as he too got his pokeball ready.
The crowd was made up of some villagers and scientists with Ed being the referee.
"Staraptor I choose you?" Jacob released a giant dark brown bird with hints of read on it's head, "Starrrr!!!" The giant bird cried.
"Crobat let's go!" Neil sent out his dark purple 4 winged bat, "Crobattttooo" the bat showed shouted.
"Battle start!" Ed shouted.
"Staraptor use brave bird!" Jacob commanded and his bird charged the bat covered in blue light.
"Croooo" Crobat was hit head on by the powerful attack.
"Crobat poison fang now!" Neil commanded and as Staraptor was about to let go Crobat sunk her teeth into the bird's left wing.
"Staraptor no!" Jacob cried as his bird was poisoned and slowly losing it's strength.
"Crobat don't let up! Use air cutter!" Neil said to his bat and she released a volley of wind blades at the poisoned staraptor knocking it out.
"Staraptor is unable to battle, the point goes to Neil" Ed said happily and the crowd went wild."Did you see that strategy" "Neil really is talented".
"Alright Conkeldurr your up next" Jacob sent out a huge muscular humanoid pokemon carrying two stone pillers in it's hands, "Connn keldurrr!" The behemoth shouted.
"Crobat switch out Meowstic go!" Neil switched out his bat knowing a rock type attack was coming next.
"Conkeldurr rock slide!" Jacob said and the behemoth shot out numerous large Boulders at the psychic cat.
"Meow! (Is that all you got!)" The cat cried as she took on the boulders and didn't flinch.
"Finish this with psychic!" Neil shouted.
"MeowwwwSticcccc!" Meowstic sent a wave of psychic energy crashing down on Conkeldurr knocking it down to the ground.
"Keldurrr rrr" the behemoth struggled to get on it's feet but failed, giving Neil the second win of the match.
"Two down huh? time to get serious! Goodra go!" Jacob sent out a white slimy looking dragon with goop dropping from it's skin.
"Meowstic thunderbolt!" Neil shouted as meowstic shot a stream of purple lightning at the dragon.(it's a dragon type but all that goop should make it easy to put down.
"Gooo!" the dragon endured the hit and didn't get paralyzed.
"Retaliate with a dragon pulse!" Jacob shouted and the goo dragon sent out a blast of bluish purple energy at meowstic.
"Dodge it!" Neil commanded.
"Meowwww!" Meowstic tried her best to levitate away but the pulse attack was too quick and hit her head causing a critical hit.
"Dragon tail!" Jacob shouted, "draaaaaa" the goo dragon sent a green colored tail at the cat knocking it back into it's pokeball.
"Meowstic was sent back the point goes to Jacob" Ed said again.
As meowstic was switched out snare was sent out."Snover!" The frost tree Pokemon charged at the dragon.
"Dragon claw Goodra!" Jacob commanded.
"Counter with a flurry of ice punches" Neil instructed his Pokemon who released a barrage of quick icy jabs at the dragon.
"Gooo ooo" the dragon's movements were slowed down thanks to the thunderbolt before and combined with the icy pain it just received Goodra was ready to drop as the final punch knocked it out.
"No Goodra!" Jacob cried as his goo dragon was defeated giving Neil his 3rd point.
"Excadrill come out show Neil how evolution has changed you!" Jacob shouted as he released an iron clad mole with claws like blades.
(I've got 3 more Pokemon Crobat is in no condition to come back yet so snare has to stay). "Snare use razof leaf!" Neil commanded and snare released a swarm of sharpened leaves at the mole.
"Hone claw!" Jacob calmly said as his mole blocked the leaf attack with it's claws while sharpening them.
"Damn it!, use blizzard and block his vision" Neil ordered. " Snooooverrrrr!" Snare released a snow storm from his mouth that covered the battle field in white, however.
'Zoooom!' The mole had dug it's way through the snow and was inches away from snare "metal claw!!!" Jacob ordered, "Excaaaa drillll!" Without a moment's hesitation with it's now powered up claws slashed snare knocking the living daylights out of it.
"Snover is unable to battle, the point goes to Jacob" Ed said and the crowd was amazed by his show of skill and using the environment to his advantage.
"Nicely done using the terrain i made to your advantage however..." Neil's eyes began to burn with the blaze of determination, "I'll show you the result of my years of testing!".
"Go Mega Blaziken!" From the pokeball exploded a tornado of flames and within it was the mega form of the Kung Fu chicken Blaziken.
The crowd were baffled from the spectacule unfolding before them.
"Blazeeeee!!!" She roared vigorously.
"Wow you sent out a mega Pokemon without using a mega bracelet or key stone?! You're really something bro! Excadrill use that advanced accuracy and HORN DRILL!" Jacob shouted
"Exxxcaaaadrilllllll!" The mole turned into a metal drill and shot towards a standing Blaziken.
'Slammmm!' before Excadrill knew what happened it's body was slammed into the ground by Blaziken's powerful kick, 'bammmmm' sand and dust erupted as a crater was formed by the impact.
"Exxxx....." The mole let out before it fainted giving Neil another win.
"Thanks for the hard work Buddy, now it's time Charizard let's go" Jacob recalled his mole and sent out the orange winged lizard.
"Stand down Blaziken . Well go ahead, mega evolve" Neil said as he ordered Blaziken to not attack.
"Huh instead of attacking first you'll let me power up, weird" Jacob said to Neil with a confused face.
"I want to beat you at full strength, now do it!" Neil said with his eyes still ablaze.
"Hehehehehe, alright I'll give you what you want! With the blue flames of origin! Mega evolve Charizard!" Jacob answered Neil as he touched the key stone on his sword and transformed his giant orange lizard into a black dragon with blue flames.
"Now let's go Charizard X dragon claw!" Jacob ordered his dragon, "Charrrrr!" Charizard roared as it raced towards Blaziken with it's glowing green claws.
"Blaziken counter with double kick!" Neil asserted.
"Blazeeeee!" The chicken then used her boosted speed to catch up to Charizard and counter all it's claw attacks with her kicks.
The dragon and the bird moved from one side of the battlefield to another as they continued to exchange blows, with neither side having the upper hand.
Charizard then kicked Blaziken away and moved back to it's trainer.
"We're not done yet! power up with dragon dance!" Jacob shouted and Charizard began to spin in the air with it's wings powering up it's speed and attack power.
"If you think your the only one who can do that you're mistaken Blaziken bulk up!" Neil countered and his Pokemon began to feel her muscles doing so to increase her defense and attack power however.
'Zoooooommmm' Charizard didn't hesitate to front it's increased speed to launch a quick dragon claw attack at Blaziken hitting a critical on her neck
"Kennnnnn!" Blaziken cried at the immense pain in her neck, Charizard's ability was tough claw making contact moves stronger alongside a dragon dance added with a critical hit, the victory would be Jacob's however.
"Char?" Charizard was confused as Blaziken didn't pass out from the attack and was holding on to it's arm.
"What?!" Jacob was also confused.
"Seems like that bulk up saved her! Don't let this opportunity go! Double kick!" Neil said with sweat on his brow.
"Blazzzzzzikennnnn!" Blaziken lifted Charizard into the air and performed a series of powerful kicks to the head of the dragon sending it crashing onto the ground.
"No Charizard get up!" Jacob pleaded.
"Charrrrr......" Charizard didn't even have the strength to stand it's head was still ringing from the kicks as it fainted.
"Charizard is unable to battle! Jacob has no more Pokemon to use therefore the winner is Neil!!!" Ed shouted and the crowd went wild.
"What a surprising turn of events!", "Mega Pokemon are amazing!", " This was one of the best battles I've ever seen!", " Dandelion village finally got exciting!" All the cheers from the crowd echoed everywhere.
Jacob returned his Charizard who had reverted back to it's original orange form with a satisfied look, while Neil rubbed the feathers of his giant Mega chicken who was happy.
"Hahaha! Guess I lost, but at least this battle made you trust me right?" Jacob asked.
"Not really, This was just revenge for the loss in fescue" Neil said with a plain face.
"Heeeeeeeeeh? So petty! Well whatever you'll trust me in time, am off to see a friend in a near by village see you later bud!" Jacob highlighted and left Neil in the crowd of cheering audience.
Neil was content with his victory but one of his Pokemon wasn't and that would lead to a snowy conflict in future.
Next time Neil encounters a legendary?
