"When did they say they'll get here?" Yuka asks me, eating a donut as we sat in one of the café's booths. "I don't know, they said probably around 3? I don't know." I respond.
"Ugh, I'm kinda pissed I had to come here for work just to find out I didn't have work." I sigh. "You're the dumbass who misread her schedule. Besides, I'm done work." Yuka laughs.
"Oh." Yuka pauses. "What?" I ask, curious.
"Isn't that one of them?" Yuka nudges my shoulder, pointing at the window. It's Seungmin. He walks into the café and I immediately wave at him. He slides into the booth and says hi.
"Am I the first one here?" He asks. "Yeah, basically. Wait, I thought you had a baseball meeting?" I ask. "Nah, it got cancelled." Seungmin replies. Suddenly, Seungmin looks up and looks towards the window. "Felix is here." He says.
I look up, and he was right. Felix was heading into the café. His smile lights up when he sees us and sits by seungmin. "Hi guys!" He smiles. "Wait, I thought you had work?" Felix asks me.
"Trust me when I say this, but I thought so too." I sigh. The doors open again, and the same group of boys that came in 4 days ago walk into the café. They come sit in the booth and Yuka fake pukes when she sees that she's squished beside Renjun.
"Stop being dramatic, you morons." Haechan says. "You made me sit here!" Renjun complains. "Shut up, its not like I want to sit with you." Yuka scoffs.
I look at my phone and see that Eric and Sunwoo just told me they're close. I suddenly feel a kick under the table and look up.
Na Jaemin, with the smug look on his face. "Are you serious?" I kick. "Ouch, that hurt, angel." He fake cries. I kick again. "Ouch! What the hell was that for?" Jeno complains.
"Sorry- I thought it was Jaemin's leg." I laugh. Soon, Sunwoo and Eric arrive, pulling a chair and sitting with us. Jongho hasn't arrived, and we all continue to talk, greeting each other in a lowkey- but comfortable way, considering the fact that we have been texting for a week now.
Although it has been a week, it felt like a pretty long week.
We all sat in the café for a long time, but Jongho hasn't arrived.
"Minyoung, Yuka." Hana says. We look at her. "Yes?" I respond. "Can you guys lock up for me? Euntae left, and I noticed you're all still talking. So.. can you?" She asks. "Yeah, sure." Yuka replies. Hana walks off and leaves the café. "It's raining." Eric says. "There's also thunder." Renjun adds.
"Gosh, I'm walking in that." Hanseul sighs. "I'll give you a ride." Jaemin offers, with a smug look on his face. "I'd rather walk." I laugh.
I look at the time and see that there are no other costumers, it's already almost closing time. "Where on earth is Jongho?" Felix asks. "I don't know. Is he at your house, maybe?" I ask. "Nah, I told him I'd just drive him with me to my house. So he doesn't know my address." Felix says.
"Weird." Minyoung sighs.
Everyone gets ready to leave, and they're all scattered in the café as Yuka and I organize things and stack chairs. The boys help, and start thinking of how they'll reach their cars.
I walk towards the door, and see that a figure is coming closer. I squint my eyes to slightly see properly, and it's- "Jongho." I gasp, opening the door, to let the boy it.
I grab his arm as Sunwoo helps me. "Are you crazy?" I nearly yell at him. "Walking in the rain?" I scoff.
"Am I late?" He chuckles, almost
bitterly, but humourlessly.
