"You're gonna what?" Zee repeated in disbelief. Had his best friend lost it?
"I'm going to ask for Saint's help." He repeated again, with a serious face
"Okay." Zee couldn't believe it. He thought once Mew saw the file he would realize how damaged that kid was, even though that sounded horrible it was the truth. He thought he would walk away from the situation but here he was telling him he was going to try and convince the ice blocks friends.
"I'm serious about this Zee, I can't really explain it to you and I'm going to sound completely insane, but the moment I saw Gulf it was like I was sucked in and have no way out " he chuckled shakily at his own words.
Zee knew Mew was a 100% serious and a 100% terrified of whatever it was he was feeling. They had known each other since they were 13 and this was the first time he saw this side of Mew. Sure he had been in relationships before, and one of them had broken him completely but he had never seen him look or speak about anyone as he did about Gulf.
It was insane, I mean he had know the guy for what ? A week at most? But by the looks of it whatever it was he feeling, he was drowning and fast.
"Okay" he repeated " I'm your best friend and I will be there for you no matter what, if Gulf is this important to you I'm willing to do anything to see my best friend happy" he smiled at Mew, Mew looked really grateful.
Zee smiled wickedly and Mews smile faded, he knew that smile, he was about to mess up the warm moment
" Also it doesn't hurt that my little beauty will need to help us, therefore since I'm such an amazing friend you will help me as well." He got up and walked towards the door. He turned in time to see Mew roll his eyes at him. "What are you waiting for? Let's go meet my little beauty!"
Meanwhile...
He could hear the sound of machines beeping... at first it was at a distance and as he woke up little by little he could hear they were clearly next to him.
He breathed in deeply without opening his eyes. By the smell of antiseptic and the multiple machines beeping around he knew he was in the hospital. He tried to recall his last memory, he saw a flash of Mew walking towards him.
He remembered now. He wasn't feeling good after having an episode that morning. He remembered feeling like he was fainting and then opening his eyes to see Mew reaching for him, for a second he remembered he was excited to be touched by him again and wanted to reach out but before he could everything went black.
He groaned out loud.
"Glad to know you're awake." Mild said in a serious tone. He was upset. Of course he was. Why wouldn't he be, by now he knew why Gulf was here and he also knew he had not told him about it. He decided to keep his eyes closed
"Don't pretend to be asleep now Kanawut, you have some explaining to do." He said sternly. "We've talked about this a million times, if you ever have an episode you got to let me know, I don't want my brother collapsing suddenly and giving me and his best friends heart attacks"
He used the brother card. Which meant he was really really upset. " I'm sorry" Gulf croaked " I just feel like sometimes I'm too much of a burden to you guys, maybe if I wasn't here anymore..." he trailed off with a tear slipping from his closed eyes.
He heard sniffling and that prompted him to open his eyes. Mild was sitting next to him covering his mouth crying as quietly as possible. Gulf felt guilty, it was he's fault. He tried to reach out for him but Mild smacked his hands away shocking him.
"How dare you! How dare you say you're a burden to me? To all of us?!? How dare you think about leaving me!" He sobbed harder " Why can't you see how much we love you! How much we care, how can you take our friendship so lightly to even consider leaving us forever? "
When Gulf had woken up from his coma the first person he had seen was Mild. He had been sleeping next to him holding on to his hand. He remembered when he slightly shifted and a groggy Mild had looked at him and shot up like a rocket when he had seen his eyes were open. He had ran out of the room screaming his brother was awake. He had been there waiting for him to wake up and now here he was telling him he was better off dead.
" I love you Mild" he whispered. Mild stopped crying for a moment, he looked so shocked at the words. Probably cause he had not heard them since what had happened. Gulf had made sure to keep his emotions locked in. He smiled at Mild's wide eyed reaction. " I really do brother"
That brought a brand new river of tears, and Mild got up and hugged him. " Kana, I love you too" he sobbed " but you know I have a boyfriend right?" He teased between the tears. That made Gulf laugh and hearing him laugh caused Mild to cry even harder.
After a while...
Mild was driving them back to his apartment he had insisted for Gulf to sleep over and he was not taking a no for an answer. Gulf had complied.
" So both Saint and Bright were there with me but had to leave" he continued " Bright was ready to kick your ass for scaring him" Mild chuckled. " Apparently he had left a very important client to rush to the hospital and he had to go back to grovel at her feet" he laughed.
"And Saint?" Gulf asked while looking out the window missing Mild's panicked look " Uh I don't really know he had some sort of appointment and said he had to go" the tone caught Gulf's attention. He looked at Mild who kept his eyes on the road.
"Appointment? This late?" Gulf raised an eyebrow " Saint would be the first to whine if we didn't invite him to sleep over, remember he's always begging me to join?"
" Guess he's just busy today" Mild said, not sounding convincing at all. Gulf was about to ask again when Mild interrupted. " You know Suppasit carried you to the car, he looked very worried" that shut Gulf up quickly.
He looked away from Mild. That's right Suppasit had seen him faint. He remembered him being the last face he saw, he also remembered his only thought when they locked eyes had been how much he wanted to reach out to him too. What the heck was that? Why would he want to reach out to him. He saw Mews concerned face flash again and felt his heart speed up. Why did he look so worried?
"Gulf! Did you hear what I said?" Mild asked interrupting his thoughts
"Ah sorry no, what was it?" He asked trying to push the image of Mew reaching for him out of his mind.
" I said you should thank him."
"What? Why?!" Gulf answered a little too high pitched making Mild raise a brow.
"Hmm I don't know, maybe cause the guy caught you before you cracked your head open like a coconut ? Or maybe because he carried you up 4 flights of stairs!" Okay that one was a lie but he didn't need to know that. " I know you hate interacting with other people Gulf, but Mew really deserves a thanks this time"
"Hmm" Gulf murmured without looking at Mild
" Is that a yes I hear?" Mild teased
" If you tease me about it again, I will not say anything to him" Gulf retorted
Mild smiled , this was a step in the right direction. He glanced at Gulf for a moment and his smile became wider, Gulf had a hint of a blush on his cheeks.
