I've been staring at the same message for about five minutes now.
After a whole month of not knowing where he was or if he was ok or happy, he's reaching out. I'm not really sure what to think. Is the account fake? Is someone tryna con me or sumn?
My heart was beating uncontrollably. I didn't know what to think and I couldn't bring myself to type a response just as yet.
As soon as I snapped back to reality and realized that I should really reply back, it was twenty minutes later. My dumbass ain't have to take that long but ok.
Seen?! He gon' leave me on read? Just like that? Wow, ok. He get outta jail and don't know how to act.
It was a Sunday so I was tryna get some assignments done before the due date. If I knew he was finna leave me on read like that, I wouldn't bother to check my dms at all.
Anyways, I checked his profile to make sure that the account wasn't fake...even tho I shoulda done that before I responded.
Ok. How he got that many followers since he been out? You know what? It ain't none of my business.

She ain't mention she was a Instagram baddie. Damn.
I left her on 'seen' or whatever just to scroll through her page. I only had one picture of her but now I get to see a whole different side of her.
Whenever we on video chat she was always shy but right now I'm beginning to think she a really good actor. She even got fan pages and people who obviously catfishing usin her picture.
"Wassup cuzzo! How you been?" I looked up to see my cousin Royce.
I closed my phone and stood up to dap him up. "Wassup cuz."
"Damn, I ain't know you was outta prison..."
"Yeh, been out for a month now," I said.
"After seven years...you look grown as hell now," he said lookin me up and down. "But you ain't have to get tatted everywhere."
"Nigga, my life, my choices. Where's auntie Gracie?"
"She comin...slow ya roll. She ain't too happy witchu."
"Why?"
"Why you think? You been locked up for 7 years..."
"Yeh and she never visited me so why the fuck she mad?" I asked.
"She ain't wanna visit you because she felt 'ashamed' to be related to a prisoner..."
I stared at him for a second before I bussed out laughing. "Aight cool."
I sat back down on the couch. That was when Gracie made her way into the house. I ain't say shit to her. I took my phone out and minded my business.
"Anaya's upstairs," I said, not taking my eyes off my phone.
Anaya was my sister and she been helping me get back on my feet since I got out.
She got me a phone, some new clothes and some expensive shoes along wit food and a room in her house...she been good to me for real. She prolly the only person in the family thas got my back right now cause I ain't heard from my motha or my brother since I got out.
"Come on Royce. We came for one thing only so let's get it and leave. I don't want all this negative energy rubbing off on either you or me," Gracie said in a cold tone before she passed by me and went upstairs wit Royce behind her.
I scoffed. "Yeh ok."
