Your POV
Last night I didnt really sleep.. in fact I got up before the sun rise just to take a look around before I had to leave. I went back up to that same spot Zen and i went to before. He promised he'd ask to marry me up here last time so many months ago.. Now im sitting here with this beautiful ring in my hand
"I wish Zen was here again.." i muttered to myself as i looked at the sun rise. It took so long for the sun to peek through and see me.
After a long while, there was a noise coming from the steps. It made my heart pound with wonder and worry. Worry because there was once enemies up here shooting arrows at us just weeks ago.. But then I saw this person.. and my worries faded.
"Y/n.." Zen called to me with a smile as he continued to walk to my side. "I hoped i might find you here" he said softly as he sat next to me.
"I wanted to see you all night but I couldn't bring myself to wake you up so early.. I said as i looked at the ring in my hands on my lap.
"I was up too. I went to the gardens first but you werent there. I almost gave up till I remembered this place.." He told me and was looking in my hands as well.
"Sorry I sent you on a wild goose chase" i giggled and looked back up to him.
"You didnt, that was my choice" he smiled. His choice to be with me.. My heart is pounding because of his words and the things he does..
"I wish i had the choice to stay longer.." i said as looked to the sunrise.
"Your family needs you too. Don't forget your country either, lord knows Raji couldnt do well without your guidance" Zen chuckled and shyly slipped his hand in mine while I wasnt looking but I welcomed it.
"I hope that by the time im gone he'll be able to rule without my guidance. He needs to talk to the citizens more somehow to figure out what he can do for them" i said as i wondered to myself.
"I wouldn't let him go to town like you do. Hes not as social" he chuckled as i moved a little closer to his side.
"Thats very true" i giggled, "even so, he'll figure something out eventually.. For now, all I need to do is work a bit harder to come back to you." I said softly with a growing smile.
"Dont work too hard while im not there" he said as we looked off to the sun.
"Ill try."
We had a little more time together before we parted. I left early in the morning with Obi and had a 3 and a half days trip back home that was incredibly boring and uncomfortable. It was hard for me and Obi to settle back in and we were really restless so we went and had ourselves a match outsids only after i greeted my family. Father couldn't talk once I got home, he was having an important discussion with some nobles about stuff in Tanbarun. My siblings were excited to see me again. They heard about all the troubles in Clarines and what happened sith Rue. I explained to Raji how Rue used to be Dominic's old aid and tried to kill me off like the rest of my family but failed. I didnt tell the twins though, itd scare them. Raji was a little scared too but he understood. I showed the twins the stitches on my back, they were very curious but Raji didn't want to see so he went off somewhere. The twins were actually in tears. Obi saw it for the first time too but he thought it was pretty cool after getting over the worried part. Rona and Eugena couldn't stop crying so i had to comfort them. But finally after that, I had that match with Obi. It was a lot of fun. He went easy on me because I could tear my stitches again so we didnt go all out. We had gaurds watching though, they thought it was amazing how a princess could have so much fight left in her even after almost being assassinated.
It turns out that the whole kingdom heard i had almost been assassinated and actually blamed it on Clarines! I couldn't leave the castle to set things straight so I was just stuck worrying about mine and Zen's kingdoms. I started writting my letters again for this month and explained the situation here that night.
The next day I got to talk to father about what happened. He was very worried about my health but I showed him I was fine. I told him about how I slapped the queen and got kicked out which he wasn't very happy about. Then we got to Rue attacking me. He said my other dad actually wrote him a letter and it was sent a while ago. He said dad thought I'd actually die in his arms that night but I pulled through miraculously. Then I told him about what happened once I got to Clarines again. I told him in detail about the deaths and what we did. He said he was proud that I helped protect Clarines with the king and Zen. Then we eventually talked about the marriage meeting. He was happy that it finally happened too. We discussed that we can only have a wedding after everything is completely blown over which means we probably won't marry till next year.. But i did show him the ring Zen gave me. Father was in shock that he proposed 'so soon'. It really wasn't soon, its just soon to the public but they don't even know yet. I also told him about Obi getting engaged too. Father felt pretty horrible keeping us away from Clarines now but it was alright.
Over the course of the next week, Obi and i have been hunting down all the people who jumped the castle wall just to get info on me. I dressed up as a guard which was really fun. I got the idea from Zen when he dressed up as a guard at the festival once. Obi and i caused a lot of trouble running around in uniforms like that but it was fun. I finally had the last of my stitches taken out too which was nice. At the end of the week I started going back to the greenhouse. The flowers haven't bloomed outside yet so im waiting for that. I sat down where I normally would with my pen, paper, wax and stamp.
I began writting to Zen like normal. Obi normally doesn't write with me though, he does that at some other time in the day when I'm not with him. Everything was going good until I noticed this person sneaking around. This wasn't anything new to us. Obi saw this person too.
"Y/n, do you-" Obi began but i stopped him without even looking up.
"I know.. Ive been watching him for the past 10 minutes" i said quietly and looked up to check that person's position again. Are they really trying to enter..?
"What me to take care of them?.." He asked softly and tried not to make it look like we noticed this person.
"No, maybe if i gave them some information they'd leave us alone for good.." i muttered back.
"But after everything in Clarines, these people aren't safe. You aren't safe anymore no matter where you go.." he told me as i streched my arms.
"I know that. I need to start up training again. We should start tomorrow morning" i said tiredly.
"Tomorrow then.." he answered softly. "Should i go let them in then?.." he asked in wonder.
"Let them travel if they want" i chuckled as i went back to writting my letter. I wrote about my situation right now. About how theres another person who entered the castle just like the others looking for information. Zen would probably have already gotten up and dealt with this person but im kind of bored of that after this week.
Another few minutes passed by and this person actually came in. They opened the door and hid somewhere close by it.
"Princess, how long of letters do you write?" Obi asked using my title as a way to tell me this person has entered.
"Long enough to catch that person who just walked in" i said with a sigh as i stood up and streched my back. The person hiding flinched and moved the plants by accident.
"Come out! We know you're there!" Obi shouted as i yawned to myself. Im so tired for some reason lately. Maybe I'm still recovering from the things that happened in Clarines.
"I-Im sorry to intrude!" A girl shouted and stood up then bowed. The person who came in is a woman? Why is she acting like this? I thought for sure she'd run away.
"Come forward and state your name!" Obi shouted again. Hes enjoying this too much..
The girl slowly walked around to where i stood with a less than happy look on my face. Not to mention she was looking at my letter to Zen too closely. "My name is Roslin.. I was sent by the castle town to check if the Princess was hurt.." She confessed with her head down.
"I appreciate your concern but the work you put in to escaping the guards was too much." I told her sternly and wasn't being quite so nice. Well, maybe I was compared to other royals..
"I know and im sorry princess, but we were all so worried after hearing the news of your attempted assassination while in Clarines and no one had any news of your health. Then the Wistal castle was attacked while you were there.." she trailed off and looked worried and scared.
"Im not hurt and i appreciate your worry but you could have been in more trouble than you think if you got caught here. I have to ask you to turn back now" i told her with a soft smile.
"I understand.." she muttered and lowered her head.
"Was that all you came for?.." i asked in wonder. If i want all that to stop then I need to give her more answers.
"Well.. Rumors say that the attacker was your last attendant.. They said you traveled back to Clarines with your real father too then once arriving you fought in a battle that killed most of the castle staff.. they said you were very hurt, they thought you wouldn't make it.." she went on quietly.
"Well.." i sighed as i thought about it, "I was almost killed by him when I had my back turned. My real father did save me and we did fight at Wistal castle. The queen died and king Izona rules alone but hes a great king so there's nothing to worry about" i explained as i thought to myself. Obi stayed quiet for this whole thing.
"R-Really? And you're not hurt?" She asked quickly and looked a little worried but happy.
"I was hurt but im all healed now. I stayed in Clarines and had a marriage meeting with prince Zen" i began in thought.
"W-We heard about that too.. So you're going to marry him and move away?.." She asked sadly.
"I hope I do" i shrugged smiling. "I love my kingdom but there are still much better other rulers than me. Raji is turning out to be quite the prince now too" i smiled as i thought about that.
"I see.. The town will be very happy to hear you're alright" she answered and was a bit sad at the news ill be leaving.
"Obi, do you mind helping her find a way out?" I asked with a smile.
"Not at all, Princess" he nodded smiling before guiding the girl out.
It was pretty quiet after they left.
Not much happened for a while after meeting with that girl though. Obi and i began training and I had continued working on my studies about Tanbarun and Clarines now. Then one day the next month, I had finally received Zen's letters. He had quiet a lot to tell me this time.. Shirayuki was pregnant.
"What?!" I shouted with wide eyes and a giant grin on my face as i leaned back in my chair and scared the hell out of Obi.
"What in the world does that letter say thats so surprising you almost gave me a heart attack?" Obi asked with a sigh as he leaned against my windowsill.
"Uh.. Its nothing.." i muttered as i stood up and walked around the room reading.
'Shirayuki told us of her pregnancy the day you left us. She said her and Obi were talking about starting a family but didn't mean for it to happen so quickly.. She's waiting to tell Obi till next months letters so please keep this a secret. In the meantime, find someone you trust in Tanbarun to stay by your side. Theres no doubt Obi wont want to come back for Shirayuki after hearing the news but i don't want you being alone and i definitely don't want you being alone with someone Obi doesn't know or trust. Obi knows more about other people than we do so try to somehow get him to trust new people. Maybe say something about your siblings needing a new attandant soon.
Other than that, I miss you. We all do. Come back home safe soon.

I let out a long sigh after reading that.
"What did it say?.." Obi asked in wonder as i folded it back up.
"It says i need to find my siblings a new aid. Can you help me find someone?" I asked as i sat back down at my desk.
"Uh, sure but why do Rona and Eugena need just one? Shouldn't there be two?" He asked in confusion.
"O-Oh, I guess so.. Find someone trustworthy and strong i guess" i shrugged and began to read the other notes. It says that shirayuki is already past 3 months pregnant.. we left when she was at 2 months when she didn't have a belly yet. Obi is gonna be shocked when he goes back to find her 4 months pregnant.
"I heard there were a few people who had finished their training a while ago. Maybe i could find them.." he muttered in thought.
"Hey Obi.." i called as i looked down at the stamp on Zen's letters.
"Yeah?" He asked in confusion.
"Uh.. Did you and shirayuki plan on having a family in the future?.. Like once we get back to clarines?.." i asked and felt a little embarrassed asking this. I cant come right out and ask if they spent the night together like that-.. It embarrassing..
"Huh?.. Yeah eventually.." he said with a little smile. "I imagine you and the master want one too" he continued.
"Y-Yeah, one day but i don't know if were ready for that-.. sort of thing.." i mumbled and felt my face heat up.
"What?.." He asked and suddenly blanked.
"What?..." i asked nervously as i turned in my chair to see him.
"You havent tried that before?" He asked in complete shock and pointed at me.
"Wh-What? N-No! Wh-When would we do that?!" I shouted with the brightest blush of my life. It feels so hot I can barely stand it!
"I thought for sure that night Zen proposed you two would celebrate by-" he began in thought while i was freaking out.
"W-We didnt! We didnt e-even think about that!" I shouted in embarrassment.
"Maybe you didn't but master probably did" he grinned at me.
"H-He, i-, w-we-" i stuttered continously as my mind turned to mush. Did he really think we'd do that together? Are we supposed to do that before marriage? Why doesnt books explain this to you as well!? H-How do you even go about doing that?!
"Poor master" Obi chuckled and looked down at the notes shirayuki sent him.
"S-So you have then?" I stuttered in embarrassment.
"I did." He said confidently and looked so.. Stupid.. He looks like he's trying to brag somehow.
"Did shirayuki get anything out of it too?" I asked with a smirk and narrowed eyes.
"Wh-What?-" he began but i cut him off with laughter as i stood up.
"Lets take a break for lunch" i told him but he was still flustered.
"You have real nerve for saying that when you havent even done it.." he grumbled and had his arms crossed.
"Im just kidding, im sure she got something" i rolled my eyes as i thought back to their baby. I cant believe what I saw written on that paper. I wont believe it till I see it either. It feels weird though.. My best friend becoming a father. I still feel like a child. Everything is still so new to me yet we aren't children. We're adults and we live how we want, most of us. Id like to live freely without royal duties but it gets me closer to Zen so I've decided to stay this way. We cant choose our old family but we can make a new one.. This makes me wonder how Mitsuhide and Kiki are getting along. They've been so secretive about their relationship this whole time so we don't really know much other than what we see when they're around. They were so close to each other before but now they have more and im so happy for them..
Mine and Obi's week had began to pass again. I continued to write to Zen about my dad and what I thought about Shirayuki's pregnancy. I read all of Zen's letter, he gave me constant updates about Shirayuki's health to show Obi later. With Zen being around Shirayuki and her pregnancy, it made him wonder about us. He often wrote about my family and even a bit about his. He wrote that he didnt have much of a family life and that he wished he had something more like i once had. He knew that it wouldn't be the same, we're both royals so our children would be treated like such which must be hard. Rona and Eugena dont seem to mind it but Zen never really liked it. I guess it was because he couldn't always be with his big brother while the twins have each other all the time. He wrote that Mitsuhide was like his only family for a long time before Kiki joined then eventually found the rest of us later on. He asked me what I thought about the matter. About what having children would mean for us. About how family life might be. He said we have the chance to move away from the castle like his mother did long ago so we could start our family somewhere more private. He said we would still be treated like royalty though and would live in a grand house.
In return i told him how amazing life will be soon. We'd finally be together and have our dreams come true. I wrote about how happy a family we would make. It made me excited to think we could ever do such a thing. I wrote that I'd love to create a family one day in the future. Once all the hard parts are done and we can finally settle down, itd be nice to have children. I wrote how moving from the castle would affect our friends. Shirayuki has to stay there for her work which means Obi will be gone as well. I dont really want to lose anymore of my family but if we could create such a good world for our family than I would.
I wrote all night in the greenhouse about this matter alone. Obi was in the middle of training future attendants so I had alone time. Well, for a while anyway..
The door on my far left opened and closed. A man walked in wearing formal attire and looks out of breath. He looked tired and stressed out. I stayed where I was and watched him sit down by the fountain. He hasn't seen me yet for some reason. He looks about mine and Obi's age. He started talking to himself about some sort of training. He said it was over but now he has more?.. It makes me wonder if he's talking about-
Obi?
"Quiet.. Hes the new recruit.." Obi whispered and crouched down right beside me. This man.. I wonder if Obi trusts him though. Probably not. They've only known each other for a couple days i think.
"Wheres the other?.." i whispered as i watch the guy continue talking to himself.
"Im assessing their skills.. Right now, the girl is trying to find this guy.." he whispered and seemed a little worried.
Suddenly the guy stood up. He saw us and panicked a bit before noticing another thing and ran off into the flowers.
"I think she found him.." i giggled to myself and tried to be quiet. The girl walked in a second later looking around before seeing me. She bowed quietly to me once our eyes met. I waved and smiled then watched her continue. Shes quiet as a mouse and looks so serious.
"Whered you find those two?.." i whispered as i watched her go straight to the guys hiding spot.
"Around here somewhere. I tracked them down a while ago" he grinned as we watched the guy get up and run off. The girl threw a dragger right beside his head and was meant to scare him into staying but he didnt even flinch. He got away.
"They must be pretty good" i smiled as i watched her run as well.
"Yes, theyre both skilled and work perfect together which is why neither will ever be able to match the other" he grinned as he took my hand and pulled me to my feet.
"Lets go follow them then" i smiled and picked up my dress.
"Then hurry up!" He shouted and began running with me behind him.
We ran around the castle for 2 hours just watching. They were completely warn out but didnt give up. They were finally at a point where they were face to face with their swords in their hands. Then they ran at each other at the same time. Attacking then blocking and the other way around. It was an amazing fight to watch. They knocked their swords out of their hands though and began to have a fist fight. It was probably the coolest fight ever and I just got to sit back and watch.
At the last second, the girl got this amazing punch in and just after the guy got hit, he tripped the girl!
"Obi this is amazing.." i muttered with excitment filling my body.
"Alright you two, you both did great so we'll stop here for today" Obi shouted as he came out of the shadows. The two were out of breath and could barely stand but the straightened back up and shook hands anyway.
"I guess i won't have to worry then.." i muttered to myself with a smile. I took my leave quietly without the others knowing and went back to the greenhouse to finally finish my letter to Zen. I told him about the amazing fight I had just watched for hours. I know he'd be jealous he wasn't here to see it.
Over this month, Obi turned those two into really dependable people. Their names are Juniper and Leon. The woman, Juniper, is very skilled, much like Kiki but her attitude is the exact opposite. The man, Leon, is skilled as well but they compliment each other. What one can do well, the other cannot do so well. They're a perfect team. Not to mention Leon is a lot quieter around other people than when he thinks he's alone. They're both polite and kind from what I could tell but I've been keeping my distance. I think its time I told them the truth about things though. They've spent a good deal of time with the twins already. I already informed the twins of whats happening so they know they won't actually have these attendants but they dont know why im doing all this yet.
"Hey Obi, how are Leon and Juniper coming along? You've been pretty busy this month with them" i asked as i studied something about Clarines i figured I should probably know.
"Theyre better than I thought. They sort of remind me of someone.." He said with a little smile and was reading a book behind me.
"I was thinking the same thing too" i chuckled and turned to him, "i wonder how Mitsuhide and Kiki are doing. I bet their relationship has blossomed, right?" I asked happily as i looked out the window he was leaning besides.
"Mitsuhide was bragging before we left how he got to kiss Kiki again" Obi chuckled and looked out the window with me.
"Speaking of couples, when are you planning your wedding?" I asked with a little grin.
"Whenever I get back to Shirayuki.." he sighed.
"What if she came here? Or we took a short trip back to Clarines?.. If it were here in tanbarun then I can help arrange the wedding in the forest like you two wanted" i suggested with a smile.
"Thatd be a dream for us.." he sighed and shut his eyes. "As much as i love you like my little sister and want you to be safe, I want to be back still.." he sighed again and seemed sad.
"Thats good to hear.." i smiled as i thought about him leaving. He'll be so happy once he hears his bride is pregnant. Maybe a little scared but happy.
"Why?" He asked in confusion and looked at me with a serious face. "Im not going back till you are. Not again." He said with a glare.
"We'll see about that.. Id start trying to plan your wedding soon if i were you" i grinned a little and turned back to my desk.
"Thats why you're having me train Juniper and Leon then isn't it?.." he asked and sounded a little heart broken.
"Shirayuki needs you more than you know.. Youll be going back soon without me. I sent a letter at the beginning of the month back to them asking shirayuki if she wanted to have your wedding here while I can still be there.. And the returned letter from shirayuki is right here" i smiled as i picked it up and showed him.
"I cant go back yet!" He shouted and stood up.
"Finish Juniper's and Leon's training. After then you will go depending on what this letter says.." i told him with a soft smile as i broke the wax seal.
"Why are you making my life so difficult?" Obi asked suddenly with a mean tone, as if he hated me. Hearing that made me stop everything. I have made his life difficult.. "ive spent my entire life looking after you and now you want to send me away again! You were almost killed while I wasnt there! You were half dead when your father found you!" He shouted as i tensed up. Is he mad at himself for what happened?.. I dont want anyone to worry about me but im taking time from their own lives.. Obi has a family he needs to be with.. if only I could tell him that.. "What if someone comes again? What if those two are just like Rue?! I cant risk your life again because of my own selfishness!" He shouted. With a soft sigh, i stood up slowly with the letter opened in my hand. I skimmed the letter while Obi stood infuriated in front of me then i recited a bit of the letter to him.
"Shirayuki is traveling to Tanbarun and will be here by next month. She has something important to show you but i can't tell you what it is. After she visits, you will leave with her" i told him after looking back up to him. He looked confused and mad but happy and didnt know what to do with himself so he walked out the door.
Its hard for me to let Obi go again especially now that hes mad. He always blames himself for the trouble I get into. He's always taken my well being as his responsibility even since we were little but he needs to let go now. He has two others he needs to protect now.. I still can't believe it though. I wonder, does this make me an aunt? We always thought of each other like family so maybe I will be an aunt.
I didnt really see Obi for the rest of the day. He made himself busy with Juniper and Leon after now realizing they'll be Obi's replacement once he's back with his family. I got back to shirayuki's letter. It says she already picked a wedding dress, im just happy she'll have the wedding here. She said she wants to have it here with Obi as soon as possible but I didnt really get to tell Obi the news..
The following day I told him though. He was quiet and still mad but listened.
"Shirayuki is coming back and hoping to have your wedding here as well.. I cant send her a message because it wouldnt make it to her in time. She said she'll bring the dress she picked with the others in Clarines. She said everyone else would be there as well but wouldn't be able to stay more than a day for two.." i told Obi as i sat at my desk and stared down at the book on top of my messy desk.
"Why would she plan this now?.." Obi muttered to himself with a sigh and was stressed. Its because she can't wait any longer to tell you she's pregnant.. She needs you, Obi.
"Theres a tailor coming by soon this week.." i told him.
"What?.." He asked as i heard him sit up but i kept my head down.
"To make you a suit.. Its a gift from me and also an apology.." i said as i turned to the next page but was barely reading.
"About what I said yesterday.. I didnt mean-" he began but i cut him off before then.
"No, you were right.. Our whole lives, ive only been a burden for you.. i know clothes won't make up for years of your life and family being stripped from you but im trying.." i muttered as my vision blurred and I zoned out. It really was all my fault his family was murdered.. Now i killed his second family too.. And he had to leave again only to worry more.. im horrible..
"Y/n, I didnt have anything else to live for but you. I cant live without my little sister.." he said from behind me and was now standing.
"Youre sweet, Obi.. Shirayuki needs you now though.." I told him with a smile.
"You keep saying that but why?" He asked with a sigh and seemed much better than before.
"She just does." I shrugged and got back to work.
"Sure.." he sighed and relaxed again.
I felt like a weight had been lifted off my chest after talking to Obi. I've always felt like i was just a burden to Obi. I was his reason to keep living but I thought it was only because he wanted to protect me because he felt bad for me. His family was murdered like mine but he came back to me not because we were just friends. We are family and that'll never change between us.
It was nice getting that off my chest after years and years of feeling at fault. He kept going because he wanted to see me again not because of the things ive been through. It wasn't pity, it was love. We'll always stick together and now he's helped grow our family. We both did.
All this thinking about family made me realize the anniversary of my mother's and grandfathers deaths were soon. It was the day after the tailor came for Obi.
I spent that day before with Obi helping him pick out fabrics and other stuff for his suit. He was totally overwhelmed but enjoyed it anyway. Raji, Rona, and Eugena stopped by as well to visit. I gave the talior the room we were in as his working space if he wanted to stay at the castle to finish quickly. He was an older gentleman but was quick with his hands. After measuring and picking out a bunch of stuff, the tailor got to sowing. He ended up having to leave at the end of the day and would visit again very soon for Obi to try it on.
Then that day came, my family's anniversary.. The flowers had begun to bloom even if it was only April. Two months had barely passed by now.. but it sucked.. If Zen and i had it our way, we'd be getting married too but we aren't even offically engaged yet..
Today is April something and by next week it'll be May. Im kind of bumbed.. like a lot.. So i took a day off from studying and trying to figure out work life. I took my normal quilt outside and brought another blanket to lay with too. Obi came with me and we laid in the outside garden for the first time since the flowers bloomed. Its really pretty out here but theres no wind.. The wind always reminded me of mother.. then we buried her and suddenly it stopped. I wish she was here again.. to see Obi and his pregnant bride.. To see my soon to be husband and all our friends.. i wish she saw her family here.. The king and her other children.. I hope shes watching over us..
I sat outside with Obi reading some sort of fairytale for a while till Obi left to train with Juniper and Leon again. Hes been working with them everyday at the same time to try and get them prepared for anything. He works too hard and he's too worried.. I think they'll be fine though.. But if they end up teaming against me while I'm alone, I think im toast. I mean, i could possibly beat them but-
KNIFE!
I rolled over on my side to just barely miss the knife heading my way. Where the hell did it come from? Whose attacking from inside the castle?
"Obi!" I screamed as i got to my feet and pulled out my sword. Another came right from the trees but missed me. There was a note attached to that one though.. "Come out, cowards!" I screamed and stood guard. I dont know how many there could be but it seemed like that one just left.
"Y/n! Who's there?!" Obi asked as he came running with Juniper and Leon but the two didn't stop, they ran right into the woods where I saw that person hidinng. I guess they had no trouble seeing him either.
"They threw two knives at me while I was reading.." i grumbled and picked up the note, "why does everyone try to kill me while I'm reading?.." i muttered in anger as I read it. It says i should leave the castle or kill myself before someone else does it for me... Is this a warning for me or is there going to be an attack on Tanbarun? Every freaking second i try to send Obi home, this happens..
"You cant expect me to leave after this do you?" Obi asked with a grin and his hands on his hips.
"It makes me worried for the others.. I need to go send someone to stop them from coming" i said as i picked my dress and got to walking.
"Wh-What? Wont it be better to have them here to help?" He asked in surprise.
"Shirayuki absolutely can't be anywhere near a fight or me. You can have your wedding in Clarines without me if you want to do it soon." I told him as i stomped my way inside. I went right to my father and stormed in his office.
"Y/n? Whats the matter?" He asked when he saw the glare on my face.
"Obi, go find Juniper and Leon" i told him. He bowed and went off quickly.
"What is that?.." father asked as i handed him the note.
"Right as i was about to have guests over, father! I need someone to go find Prince Zen's and Shirayuki's carries, they cannot come until this threat is taken care of" i told him sternly while he looked at this note in astonishment.
"This is the first I've ever seen of these notes.. When did this happen?" He asked and looked up at me from the note.
"Outside in the gardens there was a person who threw two knives at me and one had this note. Someone is out for me again and I cannot risk Obi's family because of it!" I began to raise my voice at the thought of Shirayuki and her unborn child getting hurt.
"Calm down, Y/n. Ill send for someone to got stop them before they arrive" he told me as he stood up.
"I need someone to go now!" I continued as he walked around to me. With a sigh he put his hands on my shoulders.
"I know you're afraid for your friends but theres not much we can do.." he told me which only made me more mad.
"Obi's soon to be wife is pregnant with their child and i cannot have her hurt on the way to this kingdom or i will leave myself." I threatened with a chilling glare.
"Obi?.." he asked in shock.
"Shirayuki must be protected. I cant have another one of his family members taken from him again because of me, father. Not again.." i said as i slowly lowered my eyes.
"I understand.. Ill send someone immediately and have the guards check the area" he nodded and let me go. "As for you, keep Obi around and stay away from the outside meaning all gardens." He told me sternly but with a little smile.
"Yes, father.." i nodded and gave a small smile before leaving. Outside the door stood Obi along with Junier and Leon.
"We caught him" Obi smiled while the other two didn't like that answer. Obi probably didn't do anything.
"Good work. Did you find anything out about this person?" I asked and looked to the other two.
"Hes male and had 6 more knives strapped to his waist. He's older and wore a cloak. He hasnt said a thing to us." Leon explained as i asked.
"Wonderful.." i sighed, "Obi, my father said he'd send someone to turn Shirayuki's carriage around. They won't be coming till this is solved" i told him with an apologetic smile.
"Im sure master will come anyway though" he told me with a smile and shrug.
"I hope not" i chuckled and began to lead the way to my office. "Juniper, Leon, as you know, youre purpose wasn't really to be with the twins attendants. I was going to send Obi back to Clarines this month and I needed someone to take his place." I told them as i looked over my shoulder at them, "someone he trusts. I hope you wont let him down" i said with a small smile as i opened the door to my office and walked in.
"We won't, highness" they said stiffly at the same time.
"Obi, you couldn't loosen them up at all? They're worse than Mitsuhide and Rue.." i sighed as i sat down.
"I kinda liked their obedience" he grinned and had crossed arms behind me.
"Could they beat me in a fight?.." i asked as i looked at the two in front of me.
"Not easily. Rue was like us but worse.." he muttered back. "Although, with them paired up together they might just take you down" he grinned and tapped my shoulder.
"Thank you, sir.." Juniper said as her and Leon bowed.
"Are they.. Where did they come from?.." i asked Obi as i pulled out a book from the drawer in my desk.
"One is noble like Kiki and another was trained like Mitsuhide. Guess which is which" he chuckled as i looked back up to them. I rested my head in my palm with a smile as i looked to the two.
"Leon, you must be the noble here, arnt you?" I asked with a smile.
"Yes, highness." he answered and stayed confident.
"I only say that because all the nobles and royals i met were quieter than normal. Well, the nice ones anyway" i chuckled as i thought back to my friends. "Juniper, Obi told me you talk more than we had expected." I smiled as i looked to her next. Im glad she talks a lot. At least, I hope she does.
"Im sorry, highness, ill try to control myself.." she answered and bowed her head.
"Dont worry" i smiled a little bigger as i sat back up stright.
"Princess Y/n will talk your ears off soon enough. Theres not a question she won't answer without a story being involved" Obi told them and rolled his eyes.
"Im just excited about my past, okay?.." i sighed, "you can talk to me freely and do what you'd like. Im not really one for being uptight about stuff and i really don't like how everyone uses titles. If you feel comfortable, please just call me Y/n" I asked smiling. They were really caught off guard by that. Obi had on a smile and nodded his head to the two standing in front of us.
"If thats what you wish, Y/n.." Leon said slowly and didnt hesitant while Juniper had a hard time getting over titles.
"Highess, itd be rude and improper if we did not use those titles. You are the true first princess of Tanbarun and must be treated as such with respect" Juniper told me very expressivly. She really, really sounds like Mitsuhide. I wonder how he'd feel after hearing Juniper talk this way.
"Whatever you feel more comfortable with" I chuckled as i looked down to my book. "Normally I dont do much but stay in here and study so you can feel free to visit the library or anywhere else for a minute to sooth your boredom." I began as i slowly read these pages.
"At the end of the day she always goes to the greenhouse but after today shes not allowed outside for any reason" Obi told them which they nodded to. "No matter how hard she negotiates or begs you, dont let her out" Obi continued while i rolled my eyes.
"Obi, did someone bring in the things I had outside?" I asked as i read. "Yes, Y/n, everything that had been brought out was brought back inside and delivered to your room" Leon told me and actually didn't use the titles. Hes really sticking to his word. Hes confident, the both of them are.
"Thank you.." i sighed as i rested my head in my hand again.
"You still don't have to study today y'know?.." Obi told me as i kept reading the same boring book.
"Yeah.. But now I can't go to the gardens.. " i muttered as i continued.
"You can read a normal book without being outside" he deadpamned at me.
"Yeah, i know.." i mumbled and kept going.
While I was at work, Obi began informing Juniper and Leon of things to do around my office during the time im busy.. Then I, well.. I fell asleep.. I rested my head on the desk for two seconds and passed out just like Zen always does. I guess i was just stressed and sad still. Today is the anniversary of my family's death and I cant even celebrate it outside.. I just wanted to be with mom again..
