Author's POV
He was greeted by his workers as soon as he entered his office. Many bowed down at him while others did not dare to say a thing in his presence.He only merely nodded at them. He was very cold and stern. A total workaholic. Would talk only to the point. Doesn't care about anyone but his business. Always looking for ways to win and be successful, even after having this much success. That is what everyone said. Maybe they were all correct. Except they were missing a tiny detail. He didn't care about anyone but he truly cared about his bestfriend. The only one who has ever been with him in even the most difficult times.
They have been together since highschool and both grew up as succesful business men. Only that he achieved a little more success than his bestfriend and owns the number one empire in the world. Not that his friend was very far behind with the second largest business in the world.
He took his private elevator to his floor, as he entered his office with proud, powerful strides, oozing elegance.
His eyes proudly fell on the name that marked his desk. His name.
Ashton Knight.
Owner of the Knight empire. He welcomed the view of the city from his glass wall, as he took a place on his seat.
He remembered firing his last personal assistant because that moron of a man costed him a big deal. The reason he never hires girls to works as his P.A is because they are all sluts running after money. Plus he had no time to invest in them as all his time was occupied by his love of a business. He was far from a playboy. Heck he hadn't even touched or kissed a girl. Because he knew their real motives to get near powerful men. And once they have a taste, they don't let go easily. That is why it was better to stay away from the begining.
He rung up his new P.A, hoping that the H.R department would have already hired one and he would not be like the previous loser.
"Come to my office" he said in a stern tone , not waiting for the person to reply as he hung up. He wanted to know about his schedule.
A minute later, a knock sounded on his door and he ordered the person to come in. He was quite engrossed in his work not realising that the person had already entered and was waiting for him to look him.
When he did, he was shocked to see a woman in his office. A beautiful one to be exact. Especially her eyes. Her hazel eyes.
He raised his eyebrows at her thinking another one of his worker had come to have some personal time with his boss and was ready to fire her at the moment for even thinking that.
"Who are you?" He asked with a little irritation to his voice.
She fidgeted a bit with her hands, seeming nervous.
"I am your new P.A sir" she replied politely muh to his distaste.
"What?" He exclaimed as a scowl marked his forehead. What the hell was she talking about? Did the HR not know he only wanted male P.A? Then what was she doing here in his office?Without waiting he rung his H.R department for the foul mistake they made.
"What is a girl doing in my office claiming to be my P.A?" He asked as soon as the person picked up the receiver. "Do you not know my rules?" He was angry.
"We are very sorry sir but we couldn't find any man capable for this job in the time. Plus she was the only one who had applied for the post and seemed to be of standard that you required." The woman on the other side spoke hesitantly.
He just hung up the phone rudely and leaned back into his chair, as the poor lady in his office bit her lip because of the arousing tension.
He closed his eyes to calm him down and then opened them the next second.
"Tell me my schedule for today!" He dismissed the matter at the moment as he knew he would have to go with it for some time.
She politely told him that he was free until 2 where he had a meeting with Miller Co. Aka a meeting with his bestfriend, Adrian Miller. Both have been working on several projects together and he just wanted to discuss their upcoming project. Mind that their meetings are very casual instead of formal ones as it's just the two of them anyway.
"Alright. Get me a coffee," he ordered her and she left to get him his coffee.
A few minutes later she returned with a mug full of coffee for him. After gently placing it in his desk, she asked if he needed anything else, to which he rudely said no. She left the office after that.
After a few hours, it was finally time for the meeting so he rung up his new P.A to inform her that he was leaving and her presence won't be required as all his meeting with Adrian didn't require any notes to be taken down. However before leaving, he did dump a load of work on her to finish before she left.
He barged into Adrian's office without knocking. Adrian looked up from his work to find his stupid bestfriend gracing him with his presence.
He sighed before speaking "it wouldn't kill you to knock now would it ?" Ashton only shrugged at his question and Adrian chuckled at him.
"How is everything been going lately?" Adrian asked him.
"Not bad. Except for the fact that now I have to deal with a female P.A" Ashton added with an irritated look.
"Why? What happened this time?" Adrian's lips tugged at the corner.
"Seems like no one wants to work beside me knowing of my scary personality maybe," Ashton shrugged to which Adrian laughed.
"Now that is a fact!" Ashton only rolled his eyes. "So how is she so far? What's her name?" Adrian added.
"I haven't really assessed her as yet because she just joined today. As for her name, I forgot to ask" Adrian shook his head at his bestfriend's behavior.
"How are things with Macy?" Ashton asked as a smile stretched on Adrian's face on the mention of his girlfriend.
"Things are great!" He beamed.
"Good to know!"
"On second thought, tell me when is the famous Ashton Knight getting hooked up?" Adrian wiggled his eyebrows.
"Not yet "
"Ah come on ! Who would have thought the famous Ashton Knight would actually be a virgin!?" Adrian laughed at him.
"Well for your kind information, I'm just being honest and loyal to my future wife. Plus my mother raised me as a gentleman. If I want to be my wife's one and only then she better has to be my one and only. Besides you speak as if you are a fuck boy. Don't let me remind you that you also only lost your virginity to Macy because you intend on marrying her."
Adrian raised his hands in surrender.
"And once again Ashton Knight won this conversation as well!"
"When do I not win?" Ashton bragged.
They talked a little more and discussed some business as the time flew and they could finally return home.
