A season once again ended. Before the start of the next season was a summer break where the shocking and exciting transfer period took place.
This time, many surprising transactions caught the attention of the media and the GLORY community.
Xiao Shiqin transferred to the relegated Excellent Era and was condemned for his idiocy. Liu Hao and He Ming, in exchange was traded to Thunderclap.
Blue Rain announced a promotion for a new talent that would be officially joining their team next season: A fourteen years old Blade Master, Lu Hanwen.
Wind Howl’s old General and Captain, Lin Jingyan transferred to Tyranny. Whereas, filling his position was Hundred Blossoms’ All Star Brawler, Tang Hao. Tang Hao has been transferred to Wind Howl for a record breaking price of 10 Million RMB! Just comparing this with Lin Jingyan’s 1 Million transfer price was quite astonishing yet uncomfortable for some fans.
Hundred Blossoms with 10 Million RMB on their hands didn’t find a suitable Spitfire for Dazzling Hundred Blossoms and instead, they let Tyranny to purchase the God-tier character for 16 Million RMB. This was an obvious move and the rumors were proven right as Zhang Jiale announced his comeback with Tyranny. Discontentment with Team Hundred Blossoms and Zhang Jiale flew everywhere. But soon, Hundred Blossoms with 26 Million on their hands acquired Blue Rain’s Yu Feng for 6 Million for their long forgotten Berserker, Falling Scattered Flowers. They also would be developing a new Spitfire specially for Zou Yuan.
In the midst of these shocking transfers that caught the GLORY community off guard, a long expected retirement took place. Tiny Herb’s vice-captain, Deng Fusheng chose not to renew his contract. Replacing his Knight was Team 301’s Xu Bin. And in exchange, Tiny Herb’s Li Yihui was traded for Xu Bin.
Tiny Herb had yet to find a replacement for their loss and someone had already put their hands in the pot. Li Yihui’s former account, the unused Grappler: Flying Drops was sold over to Samsara for a price of 9.5 Million. Samsara’s Grappler Lu Boyuan performed exceptionally well in the playoffs last season. The addition of an All Star character would perfectly complement the team’s need.
Many teams had changed over the summer. Tyranny now had two famous generals. Hundred Blossoms completely rebuilt their team. Wind Howl had invited the rising star Tang Hao as their core. In addition, Blue Rain lost Yu Feng and Tiny Herb lost two All Star players, one due to retirement, another due to a transfer.
As for Team Happy, they only took these transfers as entertainment and only cared with the movements done by Excellent Era. So far, Excellent Era gained a master tactician with his Life Extinguisher, but also lost Liu Hao, He Ming, and Guo Yang.
Happy had been busy with their three main tasks this summer: killing BOSSes, drills and trainings, and killing a poor guy named Deception.
Killing BOSSes would never be peaceful, because as the official break period for the teams began, professional players started to pop out in the game, assisting their clubs in killing wild BOSSes. Though, it was expected that there won’t be that many like the old times, the assisting pros were still the deciding factor in the BOSS hunts, especially with the presence of God Ye.
The regular visitors of the Heavenly Domain were Blue Rain’s Lu Hanwen that was always in dispute with Tiny Herb’s Liu Xiaobie, Wind Howl’s Elementalist and last season’s mediocre Best Rookie, Zhao Yuzhe who was so eager to prove his worth, hence, pestering Li Chunhua for her Spring Night, and Zhang Xinjie and Lin Jingyan that were so dedicated to collect materials for Lin Jingyan’s new character.
So far, Ye Xiu’s Alliance was dominating the BOSS hunt during the night and Tyranny amassed half of it during the day.
BOSS hunt was important in developing a team, but if Happy really wanted to compete professionally, drills and trainings were also a must. With the resources and money on their hands, the team’s technical department was quickly established, providing them with software and programs to train their tech skills and mechanics.
Howbeit, the Team’s biggest problem was still the lack of polished players. As of now, the official members of Team Happy were Ye Xiu, Li Chunhua, Wei Chen, Tang Rou, Ye Qiu, Bao Rongxing, Luo Ji, An Wenyi, and the recently transferred, Qiao Yifan. If you would ask their captain, only him, Wei Chen, Li Chunhua, and Ye Qiu were ready to compete professionally. The problem was Ye Qiu could only play as sub due to his other responsibilities.
They were indeed in need of stable player, and that Deception had an eye-catching pro-level stability and life preservation skill, a good piece for arena battle. Howbeit, he was indifferent with their coaxing.
Wei Chen once said that if one couldn’t be persuaded with words, then take him by force. So they started to deal with him by showing their strength through killing. Yes, killing him.
But this one was so weird that he seemed to not know anything about Professional Alliance and couldn’t be coaxed. If it was Tang Rou or Baozi, it was still acceptable, but for an experienced GLORY player like him, it’s either he was playing dumb or was really dumb.
How to deal with this? The wise old man once again advised, if killing him still doesn’t work, then just keep on killing him.
Sure enough, after a series of shameless and remorseless killing, at 3 AM in the morning, Team Happy found an emo guy standing in front of their club. Actually, they really didn’t find him, as no one troubled to welcome him except for the team’s manager, Ms. Chen.
“I’m Chen Guo, the manager of the team,” Chen Guo introduced herself but the guy seemed not interested.
“Ah, currently, everyone is busy and couldn’t meet you. You know, some troubles with the wild BOSS hunt. But if it’s okay with you, please follow me to the training room to see them,” Chen Guo said with full of awkward smile. She sized up the man in front of her but he was still expressionlessly looking at her.
Is he willing or not? Chen Guo shrugged her shoulders. She didn’t have the ability to talk with him, so might as well pass the responsibility to the shameless squad. She knew that she was being incompetent as a manager, but who told them to kill the guy until he was so irritated that he immediately booked a flight to kill Ye Xiu personally?
Chen Guo led the guy to the other building and met with the team. The sleeping schedule of the team was once again reversed. So even though it was already 3 AM, they were still playing. It was because Zhang Xinjie was currently helping Tyrannical Ambition in hunting wild BOSSes and to counter it, they needed to have contrasting sleeping schedule with the guy.
Currently, the team was indeed busy, and even though some of them noticed the presence of the two new comers, they still didn’t get up to greet them. Chen Guo looked at the guy beside her, but it seemed that he didn’t care with the lack of enthusiasm from the team. Instead, he patiently observed everyone and didn’t say anything, until his eyes landed on the screen of Ye Xiu. Knowing the identity of the person playing the character, Let There Be Light, Mo Fan’s anger soared and though his face remained expressionless, Ye Xiu could still feel the killing intent thrown at him by the guy.
After looting the BOSS, the Alliance immediately scattered. Whereas, in the training room of Happy, everyone stood up to welcome the newcomer.
The guy was not that tall. Having a medium length hair, he was quite neat, however, his face was neither handsome nor ugly. And same as his bland appearance was his expressionless attitude. But instead of lacking an element, this indifference gave them the feeling of hostility and even some traces of killing intent. It was obvious though, anyone who had gone through what Deception had experienced would definitely be angry at Ye Xiu.
“What’s your name?” Ye Xiu asked.
“Mo Fan,” Deception replied blandly.
“Oh? Shall I explain to you our team’s situation then?” Ye Xiu lazily recommended.
“No need.”
“Oh?”
“Not interested,” the guy added, as the surrounding area’s temperature dropped with his gaze.
“Could it be that you came here just to say that you’re not interested?” Ye Xiu sighed.
Mo Fan didn’t reply, but from the looks of it, it seemed like that was indeed what he planned, “Tsk tsk. You’re being emotional, that’s not good.”
Everyone was speechless. It would be strange if he wasn’t feeling any emotion!
“……,” Mo Fan still refused to comment and it wouldn’t be a surprise that if Ye Xiu continued to talk, he would really pounce at the God and beat him to death.
“Relax. I’m not the one who suggested killing you, it’s him!” Ye Xiu pointed his index finger to Wei Chen, as if saying that even though he was the one who led the execution, the mastermind was still the one and only culprit.
“F*ck you, Ye Xiu!” Wei Chen roared.
“Oh? You’re not the one who suggested it?” Ye Xiu asked with his lazy smile.
“……,” Wei Chen was once again defeated.
“Okay, kid!” Ye Xiu returned his attention to the angered guy that was once again reminded of his trauma of being killed repeatedly, “How about you stay here for a few days to observe the team. If you really like our team, then you could join.”
“……,” Mo Fan and the others looked at Ye Xiu disbelievingly. Shouldn’t it be, if you really didn’t like to join, then you could go home?
Ye Xiu didn’t stop there, as he also gave out many shameless reasons to persuade Mo Fan to stay. One was that it was irresponsible to buy ticket and just go home. Then, he said that scrap picking was not an honest profession and there’s no future with it, even though he loved doing it himself. With his long list of reasons, he was comparable to Huang Shaotian at that time.
At the end, they all could only just sigh and watch Mo Fan be guided with Ye Xiu’s shameless and calculative mind.
They now had a shallow understanding of the weird guy. If he was against something, he would say ‘no’. On the other hand, he would just remain silent if he agreed.
Everyone went back to their seats, whilst Mo Fan was guided to seat with an extremely beautiful and amiable girl, Su Mucheng. In all fairness, every girl in this team was as beautiful as those famous actresses.
After sitting down expressionlessly, the person next to him give him a smile.
Su Mucheng was naturally friendly, so even though Mo Fan was like a block of wood, she still initiated a friendly gesture. However, she wasn’t expecting that the guy would greet her back. After all, it could be said that he had deep enmity with the whole team, and added to it was his innate unfriendly personality.
But she failed to understand that when everyone was being hostile or lukewarm towards a person, and suddenly, you faced him with a warm attitude, it would make that person feel that you were good and wouldn’t ignore you at all. Instead, they would feel guilty to dismiss you and in the end, would see you differently.
“Hi…” Mo Fan smiled unnaturally. He indeed couldn’t ignore Su Mucheng’s friendly smile. He felt that with the girl’s sweet and innocent look, she might even cry if he ignored her, not knowing that this same sweet girl was the one that blasted him into dust numerous times. When he found out about this in the future, he couldn’t help but lament how deceitful a girl’s look could be.
“Oh?” Su Mucheng astonishingly widened her two doll like eyes, but immediately pulled it up into a crescent as she cheerfully greeted back, “Hello! I’m Su Mucheng! Should I call you gege or didi?”
“……” Isn’t she a little enthusiastic?
“Here! Have some melon seeds!” Su Mucheng happily poured down half bag of her melon seeds on Mo Fan’s table without waiting for his permission.
“……” Mo Fan stared at the melon seeds in front of him in daze.
And in the next few months, this became a routine between the two of them.
The new season finally started. At exactly 00:00:00 of September 1, the summer transfer window had closed and the registration for the Challenger’s League was also over.
Team Happy had only made their registration during the mid-august. Precisely because they waited for Mo Fan’s decision which didn’t failed them.
Challenger’s League was divided into two parts: the online stage which didn’t publicize the real names of the contenders and the stricter offline stage where final 20 challenger teams needed to make a public appearance.
As the season progresses, Team Happy quietly finished the five and a half rounds of their online games.
They remained the lurkers of the dark for almost three months. Even when they defeated the quite popular Team Everlasting and the public caught sight of the equally famous, Lord Grim, no ripple was caused.
None of them was certain if they really failed to be noticed by the public eye or a someone was suppressing the news behind the scene.
“Tsk! Is there really a need for hiding? Aren’t you really a villain for running in the Challenger’s League to eliminate your former team? Why so afraid?” Wei Chen once condemned when they were having a rare rest at the club’s lounge area.
“It’s the PR’s decision,” Ye Xiu lazily said, as if saying that it really doesn’t matter to him.
“Tsk tsk tsk. A problem with your family’s stock price again?” Wei Chen snorted. Ye Qiu had advised him to do investments so he now had a quite understanding about the business scene, and knew that bad publicity had a negative effect towards the price of the company shares.
“If he were just careful enough not to show his face to the public that time, no one would associate our team with the Ye Corporation,” Ye Qiu on the side gave his irritated remarks.
“It’s Huang Shaotian’s fault, no?” Ye Xiu smiled helplessly.
Ye Qiu humphed and turned to the other side, “And also, there’s no need for peacock CEO to be a cover up for this business venture if the team was already exposed.”
“Why should the hatred land on me?” Zhang Ziwei just laughed. He was already used to Ye Qiu’s bad treatment towards him.
“Then am I wrong?” Ye Qiu asked back.
They all knew that he had a point. Having Zhang Ziwei to be the representative for the three business giants was only a façade to hide the real bosses behind the club. But Zhang Ziwei was not only chosen because of that. His blood relations with the three families and his love for online games were also major factors.
“Childish,” the men on the lounge area quickly recognized the female voice of the newcomer, which belonged to their vice-captain.
They all looked at the corner and saw Li Chunhua, Tang Rou, and Chen Guo approaching. With their arrival, the team was now in complete attendance, plus the addition of their CEO and manager.
“There’s really a bad blood between the two of you,” Tang Rou laughed as she naturally sat down beside Ye Qiu.
Ye Qiu just humphed and didn’t say anything. He observed the girl beside him and lamented that there was really no reason for him to treat Zhang Ziwei badly. He didn’t like him even before, but the hatred seemed to intensify at a certain point that he couldn’t remember.
Zhang Ziwei who was the subject of this hatred observed the fake couple. He was one of those fortunate people to know the inside story between this two. But looking at them, he felt that how Ye Qiu looked at Tang Rou was far from fake. Seemed like a good entertainment would be happening soon.
On the other side, Li Chunhua sat beside Ye Xiu. Ye Xiu naturally circled his arms on the girl’s waist earning awkward coughs from the team. The youngest Qiao Yifan and Luo Ji looked away with their ears in bright red.
Wu Chen, the Team Everlasting’s former Captain and the new member of the team couldn’t help but be speechless even though he had seen this actions many times now. Who would believe him if he spread the news that God Ye is a romantic idiot?
“Get a room!” Ye Qiu threw a pillow but his brother caught it in mid-air.
“Nice microing!” Li Chunhua laughed.
Everyone else laughed with her remarks, except for Chen Guo. She mindfully distanced herself from a certain shameless guy, but that someone immediately changed his seat so they could be together.
Wei Chen leaned towards Chen Guo and sang with full feelings and hand gestures, “Me likey likey likey, me likey likey likey!” [A/N: Twice-Likey]
“Shut up!” Chen Guo grunted as she caressed her arms that was full of goosebumps.
“Baobao, why so heartless?” Just imagine a bearded man in his thirties pouting while saying that and you would understand why Chen Guo wanted to vomit blood.
“I’m not a panda!” Chen Guo roared. Baobao is also a name of a famous female giant panda cub who was born at Washington D.C. which was sent back to China.
“Okay, enough. Are the preparations for the new update complete?” Ye Xiu turned to Wu Chen, for he was currently the Happy’s guild manager.
Their rare rest was actually because of GLORY’s eleventh anniversary. Consequently, it was also the time for a level cap increase. The level cap increases with five levels for every update. Now, the level cap will increase from level 70 to level 75.
“Yes,” Wu Chen nodded.
The chosen elites were already prepared to pioneer in the new server. Whereas, the strong knights that had entered the Heavenly Domain were also ready and stationed to guard the team during the leveling period. Team Happy was really now far from being a grass-root team, for even those skilled players that could level their accounts when they were resting had also been prepared.
Ye Xiu nodded his head as acknowledgement and started reminding the team with the execution of their plan. They had decided to immediately enter a dungeon. With five level suppression, it was a quite daring move.
“This is good, new equipment means new experimental subject,” Li Chunhua enthusiastically commented after the discussion.
Because of her accident, she had missed half of the four level increase updates. And naturally, she was eager to experience the excitement brought by new maps, equipment and materials.
December third, at midnight, GLORY timely released the new content. The famous characters would be handed naked to the guild to be leveled, whilst the pro players would obediently sleep and wait for their chance in the morning to use their own character. Of course, since they had the ability to protect their famous characters, there was no need to make them naked.
In Happy’s headquarters, the team and the guild were all wide awake. Even though they had money, they were still far from the long established and deeply rooted club guilds. Their aim for this update was to take as many first kill and first clear rewards as they could.
Lord Grim, Spring Night, Windward Formation, Autumn Moonlight, Soft Mist, One Inch Ash, Steamed Bun Invasion, Wu Chen’s Dawn Rifle, Little Cold Hands, and Concealed Light formed a 10-man team to beat 10-man team dungeons.
But as they seized one of the three 10-man dungeons and split their team to get two five-man first clears simultaneously, Wu Chen was suddenly called out to the guild for a certain important matter. He was just a sub in the team and being Happy’s guild manager was his main task. Wu Chen had no choice but to leave and Mo Fan who still have a lukewarm relationship with the team was pushed to be part of one of the five-man.
Before the arrival of the pro-players came, Happy had achieved a total of four first clears: two out of the three ten-player dungeons and two five-player dungeons.
In the morning, a bunch of pro players started running the dungeons which were yet to be cleared, and only those 20-man and above were free to seize.
Ye Xiu with his shameless mind, of course, also wanted to put his hands on that higher level pot. He opened his QQ and yelled at one of the pro-circle’s chatroom:

Whoosh….a bunch of people greeted him. If it was in regular days, there wouldn’t be many of this active pros at this time. Mornings were usually a time for training and they wouldn’t be allowed to use QQ. Naturally, they were all in the game right now, and chatting while playing was no different from releasing extra energy with their APMs.
Lord Grim: What dungeon are you running?
A wall of replies immediately filled the screen. Seemed like Ye Xiu’s assumption was true. They were all indeed running the yet to be cleared dungeons. The famous one was the last dungeon out of the three 10-player dungeons. Coincidentally, the news that Tyranny got its first clear popped out.
Lord Grim: Pathetic people! Just drop that Land and Despairing Spirits. The First Clear had already been taken by Tyranny!
Troubling Rain: Are you trying to provoke us?
Lord Grim: Just giving an advice.
Vaccaria: What’s your purpose?

Soon, the unexpected partnership of the two Gods happened. Everyone grouped up in front of Rebel Army Vanguard Camp entrance. Some sharp-eyed normal players who saw the in-game ID’s of these avatars took a screenshot and posted it on the GLORY forums: Lord Grim with Vaccaria!
The forums were in uproar! If they were correct, these famous characters were going to team up to run Barrier Mountains! Who was Vaccaria? A God! Then who was Lord Grim? It had been long since speculated that he was God Ye. If he really isn’t, then how could you explain the reason why he was cooperating with the God, Wang Jiexi?
Team Happy was also concern with this. Ye Xiu’s decision was akin to exposing their team to the public. It wouldn’t be long before they would connect them to the team that defeated Team Everlasting.
“This is indirectly admitting that there’s God Ye in our guild,” Wei Chen said.
“Lord Grim or Autumn Moonlight, both of them are the main suspects, anyway. The world long long time ago knew that ‘God Ye’ is in our guild,” Ye Xiu uncaringly retorted.
“The uproar that this will create might even connect our guild to the team,” the matured An Wenyi analyzed.
“The offline stage is nearing, so there’s no need to hide it. The rewards are more important,” Ye Xiu shrugged.
Wang Jiexi who accidentally heard this was astonished, “You are participating in the Challenger’s League? Isn’t that sadistic?”
“Are you saying that I planned this?”
The Tiny Herb’s captain chuckled. Isn’t that the case?
“That’s where you are wrong. My team had long since decided to participate in the Challenger’s League as a training…” Ye Xiu didn’t continue what he was about to say as Lord Grim entered the dungeon with Happy.
“Set out,” Wang Jiexi shook his head as he commanded his own team to follow.
He knew the ending of that statement, who would have thought that Excellent Era would really be relegated?
The dungeon went smoothly and harmoniously. The two sides started talking with each other. After all, they had some encounters in the tenth server.
But Ye Qiu who was the most amiable was surprisingly silent. He was still doing his job well, but not a single word was uttered starting from when they grouped up.
Everyone was puzzled and the guy was also puzzled himself. He didn’t know why his mood suddenly turned sour after reading the QQ messages jumping on the screen of his brother.
Ye Qiu observed their main tank, Angelica. The Knight was performing well, but Ye Qiu felt more irritated. Then he looked at the Blade Master Flying Sword.
Liu Xiaobie at that time, coincidentally moved his Flying Sword beside Soft Mist. They were both melee range attackers, so it was convenient for him to talk to her.
“Sister, how fierce!!!” Li Xiaobie commented.
Ye Qiu’s Exorcist was mainly a mid to long range attacker. Naturally, his character was placed a little far away from the melee classes. He wanted to know what was that guy saying to Tang Rou, but he had no way.
“You’re very good too,” he heard Tang Rou said since she was sitting beside him.

“How about we see who kill more?” Li Xiaobie proposed.
“Okay,” Tang Rou agreed with a smile.

And she smiled?!
Ye Qiu wanted to question the girl beside him but she was so engrossed in the game.
“Pay attention to your angle. You blocked Deception’s opening,” Ye Xiu reminded when Ye Qiu made a surprising slip. Ye Xiu was intentionally creating openings for the guy to integrate to the team, and suddenly, Ye Qiu blocked it!
“I know,” Ye Qiu grunted. That slip was because he was paying too much attention towards a certain female Battle Mage and an irritating Blade Master.
“Tsk,” Ye Xiu laughed without rhyme or reason and made a half shrugged towards Li Chunhua.
The girl also laughed knowingly. They unintentionally observed Soft Mist and Flying Sword who were now battling for kill counts. Both of them understood the reason behind Ye Qiu’s actions, but the guy was still unaware of his own feelings.
“She’s improved so fast. Talented as expected!” Wang Jiexi who had been rejected by Tang Rou before said as he followed Lord Grim’s line of sight.
“Isn’t she?” Ye Xiu smiled.
“That Exorcist is also skilled. Isn’t he your twin brother?” Wang Jiexi probed.
“Indeed a discerning eye!”
Wang Jiexi just laughed at the guy’s trash-talking, “And the Warlock must be a veteran!”
“Hmn,” Ye Xiu laughed and didn’t answer.
“Qiao Yifan has become very accustomed to the Phantom Demon class as well,” Wang Jiexi commented.
“This might just be the class that suits him the most.”
“Maybe!” Qiao Yifan’s former captain replied then he said after a pause, “You have so many skillful players around you. Promising new talents and an experienced veteran. Chunhua is also someone that would surely be a God-tier player the moment she enters the pro- scene.”
“Afraid?” Ye Xiu chuckled. He knew that Wang Jiexi was not here for the first clear. He was here to probe the strength of Team Happy.
“It was not yet time for me to be afraid, no?”
Ye Xiu remained silent. Wang Jiexi meant that not his Tiny Herb, but someone else should be afraid.
“Are you regretting your decision?” Wang Jiexi suddenly asked.
“If I’m regretting it, Happy wouldn’t have stayed in the Challenger’s League up until now,” Ye Xiu said with a bitter smile on his face.
“Then, Excellent Era should be the one regretting…”

BOSS First Kill, Dungeon First Clear, both announcements were released. It was the fifth and sixth time these eye-catching names were displayed to the world. The players were all looking at each other cluelessly.

Even if the real God Ye was Lord Grim or Autumn Moonlight, it didn’t matter as both of them were part of the Guild Happy that partnered with Tiny Herb for these records.
If the two Gods were really the ones playing on those characters, this First Clear record was too beautiful. It was akin to a historical moment.
But the players creating this history didn’t think much of the record. After they bantered and fought for their rewards like they were fighting for the championship, the two Gods and their teams weren’t contented and planned to raid another dungeon.

Team Tiny Herb had the same reaction. Who among them didn’t know the bad blood between the two Gods?
