Do it.

Do it.

Do it.

This time my inner demon was successful to convince me.

I brought the blade close to my hand and pushed it hard to slit my wrist.

A tear escaped my eyes.

April

The bled fell down on the floor.

I couldn’t do it.

I couldn’t do it.

No matter how much I tried I couldn’t make myself to dig the blade deep into my skin.

Tears start flowing down my cheeks. Loud sobs escaped my mouth.

pathetic.
Why am I such a coward?

I start hitting my hand on the washroom wall.

I furiously hit my hand until blood came out from my knuckles.

An hour or two have past when I finally got a grip on my emotions. I pulled myself up.

I came out of the washroom.
The blood has dried and stuck to my hand. I went to the sink washed my face, cleaned my hand, tied my handkerchief around my knuckles tightly.

I was walking towards the elevator when someone called my name.

“April?”

I slowly turned around to face Mr. Martínez.

I don’t have any energy for this now.

“What is the time now?” he asked sternly.

I didn’t give him any answer just kept my gaze low.

“I asked you a question, answer me?”

His voice ice cold. But I know he is boiling in anger from deep within.

“Is this a time to come to the office?”

“Or do you think you got your way just because I behaved nicely with you one day?”

I kept silent.

He let out an annoyed huff.

“Follow me.” He walked past me straight to his office.

I let out a small sigh and followed him.

“Sit.”
I sat there for some time lowering my gaze.
Soon I heard a knock on the door.

“Come in.”

“Sir I bought the files you asked for.”

“leave it on the table.”

The man put the files on the table, gave him a small bow, and left the office.

“That is the five-year record of our employee's information. I want you to go through each one of them, update the information, and make a new report within today.” He said sternly looking straight into my eyes.

I nodded slowly looking at him, took the files, and start working.

I knew there was no point in arguing or protesting.

This time I wasn’t worried if I would be able to complete the work or not rather I took it slow.

I would rather spend the whole night working here rather than being at home.
I have no desire to go back there or face my father.

If only I had a friend, I could spend my night at her place.

I started adding the information on the laptop.

I could feel his intense gaze on me but I didn’t have the guts to look back straight into his eyes.

An hour or two has passed I was so engaged no other thought crossed my mind.

Suddenly he let out a small cough.
I looked up from my laptop.

“Bring me a coffee,” he said not looking at me.

Now he wants me to bring his coffee?

“Yes Sir,” I said and walked out to bring his coffee.

The sight of food in the cafeteria made me realize I didn’t eat anything for two days. But somehow I didn’t felt hungry at all.

“Your coffee sir,” I said placing the cup on the table.

He didn’t reply.

At least you can say a thank you.
I thought to myself.

I was about to seat down he threw a bunch of papers on the table.

“Make me a copy of this.”

Okay, April control yourself.
Breathe…. breathe.

I took the papers and went out of his office.

Is he doing this intentionally?

A fist of anger washed over my face.
As I waited for the paper to be ready I suddenly felt a little dizzy.
I quickly closed my eyes and leaned on the wall for support.

Okay, I really need to eat something now.

I took the papers and went back to his office. As soon as I opened the door I felt another hit of dizziness before I could hold the door or the wall for the support I collapsed on the floor.

Dimitri

I was going back to my office when I saw her walking towards the elevator.

“April?” I called out.

She came to a halt and slowly turned around to face Me.

I could feel something was wrong with her. She looked pale and weak.
As my gaze lowered I saw a handkerchief tightly wrapped around her hand.

“What is the time now?” I asked sternly.

She didn’t give me an answer and just kept her gaze low.

I really hate it when people don’t answer me.

“I asked you a question, answer me?”
I asked again.

Anger starts to boil within me with every passing second.

“Is this a time to come to the office?”

“Or do you think you got your way just because I behaved nicely with you one day?”

She kept silent.

I couldn’t tolerate her silence anymore and let out an annoyed huff.

“Follow me,” I said and walked past her straight to my office.

She let out a small sigh and followed me.

“Sit” I ordered.

She sat down lowering her gaze.
Soon there was a knock on the door.

“Come in.”

“Sir I bought the files you asked for.”
“leave it on the table.”

One of my employees put the files on the table, gave me a small bow, and left the office.

“That is the five-year record of our employee's information. I want you to go through each one of them, update the information, and make a new report within today.” I said sternly looking straight into her eyes.

She nodded slowly looking at me, she took the files and started working.

I thought she would question my order or ask why I told her to do it rather she picked up the files and started working.

She started adding the information on the laptop.

I looked at her trying to find a hint of annoyance but I failed to find one.

This doesn’t seem fun. She gave in way too easily.

She keeps on working with dedication.

I let out a small cough to bring her attention to me.

She looked up from her laptop.

“Bring me a coffee,” I said not looking at her.

“Yes Sir,” She said and walked out to bring my coffee.

why is she giving in so easily?

“Your coffee sir.”She said placing the cup on the table.

I didn’t reply.

She was about to seat down, I threw a bunch of papers on the table.

“Make me a copy of this.”

She took the papers and went out of my office.

I could feel her getting a little annoyed. Now that seems fun.
I smirked at my thought.

I just wanted to teach her the value of time and responsibility when she is working under me.

But now I have started getting fun annoying her.

She came back to my office after a few minutes.

I looked up from my laptop and saw she was standing at the door with her eyes closed, and all of a sudden she collapsed on the floor.
