I was walking towards the conference room for the meeting with the interns when I saw David standing there talking with a girl.
Why is he here again?
"David, What are you doing here?"
" Hey bro, I came to drop some papers dad gave me."
The girl was still standing there facing her back to me.
"Excuse me, are you looking for something?"
After a moment she turned towards me.
April!
What is she doing here?
She looked as if she has seen a ghost.
Why is she always so scared?
"What are you doing here?" I asked angrily.
"I...I came......"
"I clearly remember what I said in the interview. Did you not get what I meant? Or do you think it's not necessary to listen to my orders?"
" I have to say you have some guts to come all the way here. Who did even allowed you to come here?"
She started shaking with fear.
I know I can be scary but why does she start to shake seeing me?
Tears start flowing down her cheeks.
So weak.
There is no place for weakness for me.
"Speak up!" I yelled
She flinched at my action.
Why is she always on edge?
" I'm saying it for the last time, get out of here and never show me your stupid face" and with that, I stormed out passing her.
"Bro" David yelled, following me.
"Wait, bro"
"What is it?"
"What's with you?"
"What's with me?"
"You are being way too harsh on her, she's just a kid."
"And when did you started worrying about her?"
"I'm not. At least give her a chance to speak."
"There is no chance of weakness in my company."
David sighed.
"Take this."
"What is it?"
"Some papers dad told me to gave you."
"Please be a little gentle on her."
"Are you done?" I asked coldly.
"Yeah, I'll see you later then."
I sighed and went to the conference room. A bunch of students was seated.
I gave them a quick nod and opened the papers. It was the list of the student's names.
John Miller.
Ronald smith.
April Adams.
April Adams??
I called my manager.
Why was her name here?
"Who changed the student's list?"I yelled at him over the phone.
"Sir, one of the students backed out at the last moment so your father advised to call them and ask to recommend one student and they recommended April Adams so I added her name."
I hung up the phone in frustration.
I picked up my phone again and dialed a number.
Send her back to my office.

I started walking out of the office wiping my tear tainted face
"Excuse me?"
I turned back and faced the receptionist. Her smile faded seeing my face.
"The boss called you in his office."
What the hell does he want?
Once he kicks me out, insulting me on my face and then he calls me back at his office.
Is he bipolar or something?
I nodded and headed back to his office to listen to more harsh words.
I was standing outside his office having second thoughts about whether I should knock or not.
He is already mad at me.

"What are you doing" I flinched again.
This is like the 15th time I flinched today.
I turned around and lowered my gaze.
He walked past me opening the door,
"Come in."
I walked inside slowly.
"Sit" he ordered.
"There has been a miscommunication on our side about you joining the company but we have solved the issue. You can join our company now."
I looked down the entire time he spoke.
I didn't want to believe anything to end up being hurt again.
"Now go join the other students in the conference room." he stood up from his seat.
"Mr. Martínez," I called out.
He came to a halt and turned back to me.
"Thank you."
"I won't let you down this time," I said without stuttering.
I really wanted to prove to him that I was not the worthless, pathetic, and irresponsible person he thinks I am.
"I don't expect anything from you to let me down" and with that, he left the office.
I let a soft sigh and headed towards the conference room.
He came to the room and told us what kind of training we will be given, the assignments we have to do and introduced us to some of the employees who will be training us for one month.
The rest of the day passed by luckily without any problems.
*The next day*

I was in my car, struck in the traffic, headed towards the office I noticed a familiar face on the sidewalk.
It can't be.
Is this really she?
My doubt was quickly gone as the familiar face turned her back.
She was trying to stop the baby from crying in her lap.
It's her.
It's definitely her.
Is it her baby?
He came toward her and gave her a quick kiss.
I clenched my jaw and start the engine.
I was boiling with anger.
I stormed inside my office.
Our past memories came flashing back in front of me.
She promised to be together.
She promised she'll be with me forever. She promised to be mine.
April.
A knock on the door brought me back to reality.
"What is it?"
"Sir I need your sign for the project assigned to the interns"
I started signing the papers.
" It's a big project sir do you think they'll be able to do it? Most of them are not yet aware of all the concept"
"How many have them have arrived?
I asked giving him a cold glare."
"Only Ms. Adams has arrived yet."
I nodded.
"Hand over the project to her, call the others and say it's a day off."
"But sir..."
"Do what you have asked to and let her know clearly until the project is done she can not step a foot outside the office."
"yes sir.."

The last two days went well. I haven't seen his face.
I entered the building gave a quick smile to the receptionist and head towards the office. I hope today will be a good day too.
No one has arrived yet. I like to come a little earlier than others.
It's peaceful in the morning. I get some time to mentally prepare myself for the day, sometimes I read a book alone.
A footstep was approaching the door.
They are early today.
The door opened to show one of our supervisors.
I don't remember his name.....
"April."
"Good Morning, Sir."
"Good Morning."
"Today you have a new project to work on."
He handed me the project
Okay.... This one is going to take some time.
"That's a lot of work so I suggest you better start right away."
"Others will not be coming today boss gave them a day off. So you have to complete it and he also asked me to mention until you submit the project you are not allowed to move from the office."

" But.... Sir......"
"Good luck April" he gave me a sad smile and left the office.

I let out a long sigh.
I should better start now.
*5 hours later*
5 hours have been passed. Right now I'm standing in the middle of a hip of paper. Only completed 3 pages worth of work and I am hungry.
Come on April focus.

I don't know how long I have been working. A lot of work is still left. I couldn't have my lunch.
I have to complete it by today.
I don't want to give him any chance to prove me worthless and irresponsible again.
This time I will prove myself.
I quickly gulp down some water and got back to work.
My finger's hurt from writing so much.
It's currently 2 in the morning.
I checked my phone screen.

My eyes start to give up slowly and soon long needed sleep consumed me.
