I first set foot in your house eighteen months ago.
We talked, awkwardly at first.
Then we became more open, more trusting.
And suddenly we saw each other every weekend.
We were inseparable.
But then came the day
where you were plagued by emotional pain.
And you made that pain real.
I heard it said somewhere
that you can hurt yourself, but not your friends.
It was that day that I realized
how wrong that is.
There is no pain like what I felt that day.
That day I imagined
a horrible alternate reality.
A world where you were gone.
