"What is it Carol? What do you see?" Rocket sighed down the communication line. He would rather not do this, but there were rumours of the Kree rebuilding a new base on Ilysi.
"Some kind of machine. It looks uncompleted."
"Any casualties? Signs of a fight?"
"Wait a second, it's pretty dark..."
The communicator starts fuzzing up.
"Hang o... I'm losing sig... What's up wit..."
More blurred speech.
"Carol, we're losing connection."
"There's signs o... figh... and some ki... looks like so... one's been... recently..."
Silence.
"Carol?"
Nothing.
"Carol, can you hear me?!"
More nothing.
"Carol, what are your coordinates?"
The communicator turns off and the signal shuts down.
And that was the last signal they ever got.
