"Princess," Dahl's voice was calm and sorrowful "I'm sorry but he's..."
Before Dahl could even finish that statement, Grey's huge Wolf body sprung up and latched onto Lord Sym's upper torso, just as he was reaching down to reclaim his stuck spear embedded into Grey's body.
Lord Sym cried out as Grey shook him, hard, from side-to-side before throwing him outside of the Sacred Circle.
Grey slumped against the floor, his wolf body twitching as it became smaller and smaller until he was human again.
"GREYSON!" I cried out, breaking out of Dahl's hold and crawling towards him.
His naked body was covered in blood and his breathing was worse now than it was before.
Lady Wynter stood over him, her eyes filled with pity.
"Touch him and I'll kill you" I snarled from the outside of the circle, wishing for the damn thing to drop so that I could go to him.
She bowed to me before voluntarily stepping outside of the light boundary.
The Sacred Circle dropped and I ran to him, almost slipping on the tremendous amount of blood on the floor.
"Grey baby" I tapped his face and his eyes fluttered open before promptly closing "Wake up. Open those pretty eyes that I love so much."
His eyes fluttered open longer this time before closing just as fast, and he gave me a grimaced smile.
"I never thought...in my wildest dreams..." he wheezed out "That I would hear you call me baby"
I chuckled softly, tears filling my eyes as I tried to staunch as much blood as I could.
"Don't get use to it" I sniffled "I still have plenty of other nicknames to try out on you that I think you'll like more."
He chuckled softly before groaning out in pain.
"At least my scars will match" he said lightly, referring to the scar he got on his left side during a car accident we got into when we were fourteen.
A scar that should have been mine if he didn't willingly curl his body around mine to protect me from severe damage.
"I told you I would win" he wheezed out "Do I get my celebratory kiss now?"
I held my sob in.
"You'll get it when you're better" I said wobbly "That way, you'll enjoy it more"
He gave me a sad smile, his eyes meeting mine, reflecting so much regret.
"We both know that I'm not going to make it out of here baby" he said softly, his eyes fluttering closed "Might as well put me out of my misery now and kiss me."
I looked back at Dahl and the Queen who were staring at us with impassive eyes.
"Don't just stand there!" I snapped "Do something!"
"He's dying" the Queen said "What do you expect us to do for a wolf who has less than ten minutes to live?"
"DO ANYTHING!" I screamed, frustrated that no one was willing to help "JUST DO SOMETHING!"
Her eyes gleamed a calculating glint to them.
"What will you give me?" she cocked her head to the side "If I save your Wolf?"
"Rose..." Grey coughed "It's not worth it..."
I gritted my teeth "A.N.Y.T.H.I.N.G."
Her eyes lit up.
"But Greyson is mine" I growled "And if you play anymore games regarding his life and eligibility to marry me, I will bring down heaven and hell to destroy you."
Her eyes dimmed a little and she pursed her lips "Is that a threat?"
"Not a threat dear grandmother" I sneered "A promise."
"Very well" she turned towards Dahl "Tell the surgeon that his patient is ready and on the way."
Dahl bowed "Yes, your majesty."
Two guards appeared out of thin air and jostled Grey onto a glass gurney.
"Careful" I hissed when Grey grimaced in pain.
They murmured their apologies and head towards the door.
I stood, facing the Queen.
"You tricked me!" I growled "You knew this would happen?"
"Tricked... Motivated" she waved my accusations away "I really don't see the difference. You agreed one in the same."
"You better make sure he lives" I snarled at her "Or else we will have some serious problems"
"Better get moving fleur" She smiled at me "You're Wolf is bleeding faster now."

Five grueling hours later and Grey was out of surgery and sleeping off the pain meds in our room.
To say that I was freaking out was an understatement.
I was absolutely terrified.
Terrified of him dying.
Terrified of him leaving me just when we started to progress further into our relationship.
Relationship.
Huh, never really thought I would be saying that, let alone with Grey, as my boyfriend/mate/whatever the hell we were.
He slept peacefully, and while I did want him to get as much sleep as he could, I just couldn't stand looking at the dry blood crusting on his face, arms, and legs.
For the last five hours I been staring at him (I know creepy) and been itching to wash the blood off of him.
Screw it.
I'm doing it.
Walking towards the bathroom, I grabbed two cloths and wet them under the warm water.
Returning back to Grey's side, I sat on the open space next to his body and started with his face.
I brushed his curly hair away from his forehead, which miraculously didn't get matted with blood, and softly wiped the blood from his face.
I repeated with process with his upper chest as well as his arms and legs.
"You big idiot" I murmured softly, pressing a kiss to his cheek "You took twenty years off my life."
He shifted positions and then groaned "Rose..."
I sighed and suddenly, exhaustion hit me hard.
I laid down next to Grey, near his unaffected side, and promised that I would stay up all night taking care of him.
Which was true.
Until I passed out from exhaustion the moment my head hit the pillow.
