But now standing here in this crowd that's yelling your name,
I realize that I fell in love with the idea of not being lonely,
I watched every scene and I sung every line,
As you said I was your wings,
With me you'd be able to fly
I was so trapped in my bubble that I heard it all wrong,
I thought I was someone special and you became my favorite song,
How lonely must the sky have been that I made you my star,
Your words found the darkest parts of me and painted them bright,
Then why is it as I stand in this crowd,
This terrible heartache overtakes me
As I realize you do not know me,
you have never seen me
I thought I loved you,
But it was not you but the idea of you that I truly loved.
