"TINA, hand over me my phone, please." Mrs. Venedid said while looking to herself on the mirror.
"Here po, Mamma."
Inaayusan ni Bettina si Mrs. Venedid. Makeups and hairdressing. It's been three months since he is working with her. Mrs. Venedid love his master piece when it comes to makeups, she admire his creativity. In that three months the both of them become close and as he said in the interview, they become friends.
Tinaasan din nito ang sahod nya kaya mayroon nanaman syang ipon para sa pag-aaral ng mga kapatid nya at magpapasukan na. Napakaganda ng turing ng ginang sa kaniya kaya wala syang masabi kundi mga papuri dito, pati ang asawa nitong Mayor ng lugar nila, marunong makipagkapuwa tao at hindi katulad ng tatay nya na sarili lang ang iniisip.
"Wow, Tina. I love it! You're so good! Do this also on Agrefena, she will also love this!" she said in energetic tone and admire herself from the mirror. God. She used to it, like everyday.
And Agrefena is her only daughter.
Bettina bows like a princess because of Mrs. Vedenin compliment, "Thanks Mamma." Mrs. Vedenin wants him to call her Mamma, not Madam because it's too formal for her and he is her personal assistant slash secretary, so she preferred Mamma as well as Tina, for Bettina.
"Call Agrefena please, tell her it's getting late!" she yells, "Oh my god. I'm still so beautiful, no wonder why Maximo gone crazy over me." she can't resist her beauty and she's still looking on the mirror while talking to him.
Like Venus, she is a goddess of beauty. That's how she sees herself. Bettina takes it in a funny way, Mrs. Vedenin is one of a kind. How he envy Agrefena for having a mother like her.
"On the way po, Mamma." he smile and leave her room.
There was a party tonight in the Vedenin Mansion. Today is the Mayor's 55th birthday. Well, he is wearing something he always dream of when he was a child.
Nakasuot lang naman si Bettina ng hapit na hapit na dress sa kaniyang katawan, it is a baby blue sheath dress were his curves are highlighted with a high slit, its spaghetti straps and the length is up to his legs. He wears black boots and a black executive coat. His Mamma said he should wear something 'bongga' that will express himself. So, there is nothing to fear.
He knock three times on Agrefena's door, "Pasok na ako, Agrefena." sabi nya at pumasok na sa kwarto nito.
"Call you later, love." Agrefena chuckles, "Yeah, I love you too."
Bettina hear those words. But he pretend he doesn't when she face him with a smile. He smile back and said,
"You're mother is looking for you, it's your time to shine~" he manage to joke, he's a little bit nervous of what he heard.
Agrefena tighten her black bathrobe and wrinkle her nose as she saw Bettina's look tonight.
"Yeah, it's my turn to shine." she laugh, "but I think you're the one who really shines tonight." lumapit ito sa kaniga at pinagmasdan sya, "Why don't you dress like this everyday? You are gorgeous indeed! I mean- you look like a real woman today." tumango tango si Agrefena.
Nahihiya namang inipit ni Bettina ang imaginary hair nya sa tenga nya, "Telege be?"
Agrefena laugh and snake to his arms, "C'mon! I am not lying. Make me beautiful like you, Tina. I'm gonna make every man fall in love with me." they start walking.
"Ay ghOrl, kung gusto mo, mas maganda pa sa'kin. O kaya sholbogin natin ang beauty ng mother earth mo!"
Nakisabay nalang si Bettina, baka sabihin nitong Kill joy sya e. Tuwang tuwa naman si Agrefena sa mga pinagsasasabi nya habang sya naman ay napapaisip sa mga nasasaksihan.
Pangalawang beses na nya itong narinig na may katawagan na 'love' but as far as he know, single si Agrefena, that's what her mother told him. However, she acts like she has not that he called 'love' through her phone. Pero walang panghuhusga si Bettina, maybe she has her reason to keep it a secret.
He thought that, sometimes secrets may be good in many ways, but depends on if it's for yourself or to someone you love.
He sigh until they got to Mrs. Vedenin room. Sinimulan na'rin nyang ayusan si Agrefena, ngunit mapapansin ang lungkot sa kaniyang mga mata. Nagtatalo ang mag-ina sa kung anong isusuot ni Agrefena. Bettina smiles but inside him, he feel so broken. Seeing a mother and daughter bond, make him sad. He remember his mother. They used to it, before. Before his father know about his true identity. Because of his father, every dreams he have to his mother and sibling collide.
Much more, when nobody, when no one ever approach him and comforts him. It was just only Mamita who stay by his side and love him as he is. His eyes became teary so he excuse himself.
"C-CR lang po muna ako, saglit." hindi na nya hinintay ang sagot ng mag-ina at nagtungo na sya sa restroom.
Napahinto sa pag-aaway ang mag-ina at sinundan ng tingin si Bettina, "What happen to him?" they were both puzzled of what he did.
Bettina rush into the restroom and rest her arms on the lavatory. His tears are flowing from his eyes and he can't help it but to sob.
Why the hell he's being so emotional with that scene? He's not suppose to act like this because of his own mother! He shouldn't be this hurt! Isang dekada na simula ng itakwil sya ng sarili nyang pamilya, bakit ngayon, masakit pa'rin? He keeps on forgetting every memories he had on that family, but the pain keeps hunting him.
Pinunasan nya gamit ang kamay ang sariling luha. How he hope that there is someone who can be with him tonight, not to talk but someone who can only undestands him.

A memory of Chris smiling wide and has an open arms in front of him flash through his mind.
Chris. Did she already forgive him? Fuck. Why is everybody making him cry like a baby, like now? He's should be happy right now, why is this happening to him?
He bite his lips as he saw himself on the mirror. He saw his outfit and inner self. Nang dahil sa pagiging isang bakla, nagkakaganito sya. Funny, right.
Bettina chuckles, "Fuck it." he wipe his tears, "Why the fuck am I fucking crying? I fucking look like shit. Damn it." inaayos nya ang sarili at nag hugas ng kamay.
This is the first time he cussed like that and he's enjoying it.
It's time to get stronger.

Everyone seems so happy when the Mayor's birthday party started. It's a formal party, violet and black themed. The whole event is being celebrated in the Vedenin's Mansion, it was so wide that you could invited all the people in a village. The old ones are sitting and chit chatting, the youth are singing and dancing. The Government officials are toasting in joy except of one man, sitting and drinking with his own.
It's the Governor himself,
Mr. Brook Doughlas Thompson Sr.
He's glaring at his son, he couldn't even look at him in a minute. For fuck's sake! He is wearing a woman suit, he's a fucking man. How could he afford to wear that?! It pissed him off. Good thing, his wife, Eliora is busy doing her business, because if ever she's here. She'll surely approach her son.
Mr. Thompson's jaw tighten as he watches him move, what the fuck is he really doing?! He's out off his mind! What will happen if someone recognize him?! What will happens to his image!? Damn it.
Galit na tumayo ang ginoo at tumungo sa lugar kung nasaan ang kaniyang anak. Itinaon nyang nag-iisa itong naglalakad patungong Mansyon.
He grip his arms in anger. Bettina was shock if what he sees.
"D-Dad..."
His eyes widen, as if he sees a monster and he feel the fear he felt during his birthday.
Hinila sya nito sa lugar na tago sa mga tao. He don't want anyone to see him talking to his gay son.
"What the fuck are you doing?!" matigas na sabi nito at itinulak sya sa pader.
Bumilis ang pagtibok ng puso ni Bettina sa takot. He doesn't even know what to say.
"I-I-I..d-did-" binigwasan nito ang sariling anak.
Naramdaman ni Bettina ang kusang pagtulo ng luha sa kaniyang pisngi. He bite his lips.
Mr. Thompson gritted his teeth, "Are you out of your mind, Brook! You still have my name! My fucking name! You're ruining it. What if someone recognize you? What will happen to my-" he cut his words.
"I-I d-did nothing w-wrong.." umiling sya, "I-I d-did nothing, Dad..." hinarap nya ang sariling ama habang lumuluha.
Mr. Thompson smirks, "Don't call me Dad, You're wrong, itself..what's your new name again?" he snap out, "Oh! Bettina... Bettina right?" namuo muli ang galit ng kaniyang Ama.
Tangka nanaman sya nitong sasampalin ng pigilan nya ang braso nito.
"Y-You don't have the fucking rights to hurt me, Mr. Thompson." he let out of his arms drastically, "I am fucking sick of being your called son." he said between his tears.
Mr. Thompson glare, "Now, your talking ba-"
"D-Damn you.." he point out his own father, "I-I promise, Mr. Thompson...T-That this g-gay standing in front of you will rise from the top. A-And I'm gonna make sure, that you, my very own father who never treat me as his own, will look up to me someda-"
Again, his own father slap him hard.
"You're talking nonsense." he can feel the hatred to his voice, ngunit hindi iyon pinansin ni Bettina. Inayos nya ang sarili at pinunasan ang luha.
He look at his father with pride as he said, "And this will be the last time I'll let you hurt me." he stares to his eyes.
"Segna le mie parole, Padre." Mark my words, father.

Maghahating gabi na ng makauwi si Bettina sa kanila, the party's over and he's tired too. After what happened to him and his father, he remain calm and normal. He will be stronger, he promise to himself. Makikita ng Ama nya kung anong itinapon nito. He'll prove him wrong, he will.
After the party ends, Mrs. Vedenin told him to rest because tomorrow evening, they will have an out of town business trip. He will be there also, as her secretary.
Pagkapasok ng pintuan ni Bettina at bumungad sa kaniya si Daks, nakakunot ang noo nito habang nakatingin sa mukha nya. Naalala nyang may nagkapasa pala sya sa pisngi.
"Napano ka kuya?" nag-aalalang tanong nito at kinuha ang bag nya.
He look away, "W-Wala 'to." think Bettina, think,
"N-Nadulas kasi ako sa b-banyo 'don sa Mansyon. Ayern, una mukha. Nasira na tuloy ang fez ng maganda mong ate." he force to laugh.
Pero hindi iyon bumenta kay Daks, "Sure ka kuya? Alam ko namang gawa 'yan ng tata-" he put his point finger in his lips.
"Shhh! Wag ka maingay..." hinila nya ang kapatid, "wag mong ikukuda kila Mamita, keri?" kinakabahan kasi sya at alam nyang mag-aalala lang ito.
Napahinga ng malalim si Daks, "Sige kuya." nakita nya ang pagka-awa nito sa kaniya, "Kukunan kita ng cold compress. Diyan ka lang." tinapik nito ang balikat nya bago ito umalis.
He sighs and touch his precious cheeks, masakit iyon. Sa laki ba naman ng kamay ng tatay nya. Napangiwi sya ng kumirot iyon, mayamaya'y nakita nyang pababa ng hagdanan si Uno habang humihikab ito.
Napangiti si Bettina at sinalubong ang anak ng yakap at halik. Binuhat nya ito.
"Hmmph! Bakit ka lumalabas mag-isa huh? Na miss mo ba si Papay? Hmm!" sabi nya dito at pinaghahalikan.
Nakalukot ang ilong nitong yumakap sa kaniya, "Baho mo po, Papay." natawa sya sa anak.
"Mashumers ba? Galing kasi sa work si Papay, maraming ginawa kaya, shumumers hehe." ginulo gulo nito ang buhok.
"Uhaw po ako..." inaantok na sabi nito, "Okay po. Ito na, mahal na prinsipe." sumunod na lang si Bettina sa anak, baka magalit e.
IBINAGSAK ni Bettina ang sarili sa kama. Nakahinga sya ng maluwag matapos maligo. Nakasuot sya ng plain na t-shirt at pink pajamas, tinapik tapik nya ang anak na kasalukyang natutulog. Tinabihan nya ito at hinalikan sa utuktok ng ulo. Yumakap naman agad ito sa kaniya habang nakanguso.
Ang cute talaga ng anak nya, mana sa kaniya. Bago sya matulog ay kinuha muna nya ang cellphone para i-check ang kaniyang instagram. Nagscroll sya kasabay ang pagdampi dampi ng cold compress na pisngi na ibinigay ni Daks. Nag post kasi sya ng picture nya kanina ng naka-dress. Feeling nya kasi ang ganda ganda nya talaga.
Nagulat si Bettina ng umani ito ng dalawang libong mahigit na hearts. Napangiti naman sya at marami ring nag komento.

Pagkapasok nya ng restaurant ay hinanap nya agad si Agrefena, nakasuot daw ito ng pula. Nasa may gilid ito at mukhang may kasama, mukhang lalaki ang kasama nito, nakatalikod sa mula sa kaniya at masaya si Agrefena na kausap ito. Kahit naguguluhan ay nilapitan niya ito.
"Tina! You're here!" nakipagbeso ito sa kaniya.

Bradley tighten his fist. That fucker, really. Umiwas sya ng tingin. Bigla syang naawa sa kapatid. If he's only there...
"U-Uhh..." tumingin si Bradley sa nobya, "Did I mention that she's my girlfriend?" he ask Bettina.

Napanguso naman si Bettina, "Kahit di mo sabihin," tumingin sya kay Agrefena na nakangiti, "Kuya ko pala yung love mo ha..." naningkit ang mata nya, "Hmmph!"
Umirap si Bettina at natawa naman ang dalawa. Lumapit si Agrefena sa kaniya at niyakap sya.
"Nice to finally meet you, my gorgeous sister in law~" umiwas iwas si Bettina dito.
"Tse!" pinagsalubong nya ang kilay, "Kaya pala binobola bola mo'ko lagi, kasi jowa mo ang kuya ko! Hala sya..." sabi nya at hinead to toe si Agrefena.
"Hihi~ Di kita binobola noh! You're really gorgeous." Agrefena kiss his cheeks, he winces, "Right, love?"
"Yep."
Mas lalong nangiwi si Bettina dahil pinagitnaan sya ng dalawa at naglalandian na ang mga ito. Kinurot sa pisngi ni Agrefena si Bradley. Napa-ikot ang kaniyang mata ng magflying kiss pa ito.

Sasagot na sana si Bettina ngunit naunahan sya ni Agrefena, "A man by heart."

Napataas ang isang kilay ni Bettina.
"Ano ba-" Agrefena interrupt him.

Mas lalong napanganga si Bettina. Bradley's mind turns to knots. "I-I don't get it, love..."

Napatango si Bradley kahit di nya naintindihan. Si Agrefena naman ay tuwang tuwa sa reaksyon nya.

"Di nga nya ako bati," nalungkot ang mukha ni Bettina, "s-saka umalis na sya noh..." umiwas sya ng tingin.
"Ahh...so you missed her?" biglang tanong ni Bradley na shookt ang lola nyo.
"M-Mhm-mhm..." dahan dahan syang tumango habang nakatingin sa kapatid.
