Sorry for not updating for sooo long.
Heres another chapter... I love klaus ♥♥♥

Alice was pleasantly surprised by Klaus' forwardness and keenly excepted his offer, taking his hand softly. Klaus smiled, although Alice couldn't quite understand the sinister effect his smile had on her. It didn't seem real, he was faking for her benefit and she couldn't quite make out why. Had she done something without realizing it? But all thoughts flew straight from her mind as Klaus securely wound his arms around her waist, pulling her in extremely close -Alice's chest was pressed against his, there was no space between them and Klaus' arms kept it that way, she couldn't move away...Although some small part of her brain was whispering that she didn't want to.

They began to sway from side to side, their movement was almost hesitant like they didn't know how much the other could cope with. Alice swallowed and opened her mouth to speak but Klaus beat her too it.

"You look magnificent, this evening." His said lowly in her ear, as if it was a secret he was sharing with her.

A shiver shot over Alice's back as his breath fanned out against her skin. "T-thank you." She stuttered shyly. She looked up at him, or as best as she could from their close position and a blush flared across her cheeks. "You look better than most here tonight." Her voice was just as quiet as his had been, but that was more likely the fact that she was embarrassed than her actually trying to be quiet.

Klaus chuckled as he spun them once. "Is that a compliment, Love?"

Alice nodded. "Of course."

Klaus hummed and if it was possible pulled her even closer. She laid her head gently against his shoulder and he tensed up, immediately Alice lifted her head back up, apologies tumbling from her lips. "I-I'm sorry."

Klaus' jaw was clenched tightly but he shook his head. "It's fine...Alice."

As if to take her mind off of it, Klaus held her hand tightly in his and spun her out, she couldn't suppress the giggle that escaped her and that seemed to lighten Klaus up and he pulled her back in, but making it so her back pressed to his chest, his arms wrapped around her from behind. Alice's cheeks flared as she could clearly take notice of all the watchful eyes.

Some stared curiously, whilst others just openly gawked at the two.

Alice's eyes glanced around the room, watching everyone, but she made sure her gaze didn't linger on the watchful people.

"People are staring." Alice whispered, uncomfortably.

"I know." He replied. His grip on her tighten before quickly releasing and spinning her back around to face him. Alice took notice that his eyes were lighter now than they had been and they watched her knowingly, although it was near impossible to miss the sadness lingering in his gaze.

"How did you and Kol meet?" Klaus asked casually. He didn't look at her but just over her shoulder to something behind her.

Alice blushed as she remembered her dreaded day. "It is complicated."

Klaus glanced down at her and his lips twitched. "I'm sure if it involves Kol, it can't be that complicated." He lent in and his lips brushed against her ear. "He's rather simple." He whispered.

Alice's mouth fell open as he pulled back. His lips stretched into a complete grin. "That is disrespectful!" She exclaimed, although as shocked as she was at his disrespect towards his brother she couldn't keep her lips to remain straight lined.

"We don't have the best relationship." He admitted.

Alice laughed lightly. "You'd be surprised how easy that was to perceive."

"You knew?"

Alice looked up at him and nodded. "Subtlety seems to be lost on you both."

Klaus straightened up, slightly uncomfortable with how easy she had managed to read him. How easily she knew. "Trust me, sweetheart, I  don't need subtlety." He said. He twirled her again.

Alice looked down at her feet as they moved and watched the way her dress flared out around her as she was spun. "Everybody needs to learn to be subtle eventually, otherwise you'd end up trapped in an inexcusable situation."

"Like you?"

The words shocked Alice and she lost her footing. Her foot caught on the hem of her dress and it twisted painfully. A small screech slipped past her lips as she fell.

Klaus' arms tightened around her body and held her up.

Alice sucked in a sharp breath as a white pain shot through her ankle. "Ouch."

"I never knew you to be so clumsy." Klaus commented. He crouched down and moved one of his hands to sweep out under her legs, the other hooked under her arms -holding her bridal style.

Alice, as if instinctually, reached up and wrapped are arms around his neck, pulling herself in as close to him as she could get.

Klaus tightened his  hold and started walking off of the dance-floor over to a quiet corner he could place her down and look at her. Alice who had buried her face into his neck pulled back suddenly to stare at him. She frowned. "What did you say?"

He glanced at her at before looking forward. "When?"

"Just now."

"Nothing."

Alice shook her head defiantly. "No." She stated. "You said you knew me."

"I don't believe that's what i said." He denied.

"It was similar." She pressed.

Klaus sighed and ever-so-gently placed her on the sofa. "I didn't mean you...You just remind me of someone."

Klaus stood up straight and looked around. Alice watched him curiously, careful not to disturb her throbbing ankle. "...Who?" She asked timidly. She knew that it wasn't something for her to be prying into but she couldn't stop the word from slipping from her lips.

"No one who concerns you." He replied, his voice held a cold edge. The way he said it declared that conversation topic over...Not to be discussed again.

"I'm sorry," Alice apologize. She shifted herself into a more comfortable position, making sure not to touch her ankle. "I never meant to pry."

Klaus seemed to ignore her words and knelt down in front of her, very slowly and gently lifting up the hem of her dress to expose her ankle to him.  Alice's cheeks flushed red and she had to look away from the handsome man kneeling in front of her.

"You sure did some damage, Love." He commented. His hands, warm to the touch, gently pulled her shoe off to get a better look. One had grasped her calf and the other gripped the sole of her foot before gradually rotating her foot clockwise.

Alice pulled in a sharp intake of breath as something in her ankle screamed at her. Klaus paused. "Sorry," he mumbled.

"How severe is it?" She asked hesitantly. If it looked how it felt she was frightful to even catch a glance.

Klaus looked up at her. "It's nothing life threatening, if that's what you're after."

Alice gave him a pointed look. "That was not what I was inquiring."

"I know." He chuckled. "But you just need to rest it. It's not broken."

Alice let out a breath of relief. She wasn't sure what she would have done if she had somehow managed to break her ankle. "Thank you." She said.

Klaus reached up and pulled her dress back down and then stood up tall. "Don't mention it, Love. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm needed elsewhere."

He said. He didn't wait for a response from Alice before he walked off.

Alice sat there, confused. That was now two people that had left her in just one evening. Was she doing something wrong? Did she say something?

She watched Klaus' retreating back with furrowed brows. He glanced over his shoulder back towards her but as soon as their eyes connected he scowled and looked away as if disgusted. Alice was beyond confused. He was fine just a moment ago, she thought, what's changed?

Alice has been sat on the sofa that Klaus had left her on for what felt like an eternity, but she couldn't quite pin-point how long in actuality. She lent up against the arm of the sofa, facing the dance floor. She felt completely taken with watching the couple dance. It was soothing and romantic. She let her eyes analyze their movements and just couldn't seem to pull her eyes away from the couples that seemed completely and utterly in love. The longing looked they shared stirred an unfamiliar feeling within Alice. It made her slightly uncomfortable but that didn't make her want to look away anymore. It was beautiful to watch...Magical even.

"Alice. There you are." Someone spoke from behind the back of the Sofa. The cushions dipped under the weight of someone leaning against them. Alice jumped and jolted her leg. A painful cry escaped her.

"What happened?" They asked.

Alice clutched at her leg and glanced up and over to find Kol staring down at her curiously. "Nothing." She replied unrealistically.

"You expect me to believe that?"

Alice looked up at him with wide eyes but as much as she tried she couldn't hide her embarrassment. "Yes?" She said, phrasing it like a question.

Kol maneuvered around the sofa, carefully sitting down and moving Alice's injured leg to his lap. "What did you do?"

"...I tripped." She admitted in a whisper.

Kol laughed. He actually laughed at her. Alice looked up at him, eyes narrowed. "Is my discomfort creating some form of amusement?"

"Yes." He said, not even trying to hide the truth.  "I'm starting to believe you really were clueless about suicide earlier -turns out you're just clumsy."

There's that word again. Suicide. Alice cocked her head to the side and looked at Kol questioningly. "Suicide?"

"What about it, Darling?"

"What is it?"

Kol watched her for a few moments, before shifting slightly. "Nothing you need to worry your pretty little head about. You're too innocent to be plagued with such thoughts."

That wasn't the answer she was looking for, but it was obvious that that was the most she was going to get out of Kol anytime soon, so she decided to change the topic. "I believe I may have frightened Klaus off."

"Excuse me?" Kol said.

"I said, 'I believe I-"

"I heard you." Kol said, cutting her off.

Alice frowned. "Then why did-"

Kol shook his head. "I doubt you manage to scare the infamous Niklaus Mikaelson."

"Do you see him around?" Alice questioned.

Kol's eyes glided over the room before coming up empty and he looked back over at Alice, shaking his head slowly. "I think I said something wrong."

"What did you two talk about?" He asked, curiously.

"I remind him of someone...I think it might be Aleysia. That's what he called me when we arrived...Does it sound familiar?"

"Slightly. All I know is that she was someone he knew a long time ago." He informed.

"Do you think he would accept an apology?"

That cause Kol to loud out loudly. "You want to apologize to Klaus?"

Alice felt offended, was it a foolish thing to do? "Yes."

"Good luck with getting him to accept it, darling. He's far from the forgiving type." He said through continuous chuckles.

"Now, Kol, that's no way to talk about your brother." A soft voice said sternly behind us.

Kol's laughter seized and he twisted his neck around to face them. "Mother." He said simply.
