Chapter 09: Nuggets
Third Person's POV
Max stood on her spot frozen. Eyes wide open, mouth hanging open. Kung titignan si Max, daig pa niya ang taong nakakita ng multo. Siguro kung nandito lang ng tropa niyang si Jas ay ilang beses na siyang nakuhanan ng picture nito. Dagdag sa album niya na punong-puno ng mga epic at stolen pictures ni Max.
Max, still shocked, unconciously took a step back. And another. And another. Shaking her head slowly on the process. In her head, she's cursing the destiny too much for placing her in this situation.
Tatalikod na dapat siya pero biglang tumunog ang tiyan niya. Gusto sanang sampalin ni Max ang sarili dahil hindi ito cooperative sa mga trip niya sa buhay. So once again, nag-isip ulit siya.
Would she save herself from the emotional torture or from hunger?
Napahawak nalang si Max sa tiyan niya atsala tinignan ang signage ng McDonald's.
Putangina naman nagugutom nako eh. Saka yung nuggets, I can already taste it..
Napapikit nalang si Max atsaka hinawakan ang t-shirt niya ng mahigpit. She let out a deep breathe atsaka naglakad palapit sa drive thru. The nuggets prevail.
Mabagal siyang naglakad patungo sa spot kung saan sasabihin dapat yung order. Her heart beats slowly as she gets nearer to the guy. Hes back facing her. She cleared her throat atsaka nagsalita.
"Uhm, excuse me." Her soft voice filled the place. Lumingon naman sa kaniya ang lalaki. He's chinito eyes looking at him. His pale skin seems to be glowing. His lips are in deep shade of red.
Max was taken aback.
Oh shit. Etong-eto yun eh! This is how she imagined that guy. Her first male character! Pati yung suot ganitong-ganito. Lone sleeves, jeans, and a head phone.
She is shocked. Sa sobrang gulat niya ay napahakbang pa siya pabalik. She was about to say something ng biglang manlaki ang mata ng lalaki. The guy seems shocked also.
"What the fuck ikaw si Max diba?! The author of "Life of a nobody"?!" The guys hold her shoulders. He gently shaked, ay hindi pala gently.
Niyugyog siya ng lalaki na parang may nakalagay na sign sa kaniya na nagsasabing "shake well". Kitang-kita ang tuwa sa mukha ng lalaki.
"Oh my God I'm a fan!" The guy added.
Max wanted to tell the guy to stop. Nahihilo na siya plus sobrang lapit din nung lalaki sa kaniya. Too much for her comfort. Max really treasures her personal space. Kung pwede nga lang ay maglagay siya ng force field sa paligid niya para walang makalapit sa kaniya. So this is a big no no for Max.
"Wa-wait s-stop!" Max exclaimed. Mukha namang natauhan din yung lalaki kaya binitawan siya nito.
The guy smiled apologetically. The guy scratched his head, letting out a chuckle. The guy muttered a sorry before introducing himself.
"Sorry po! I just got excited. I'm a big fan!" The guy offered his right hand to her. "I'm Zero! Nice to meet you."
