Aashna's POV:
I woke up very excited yet nervous! I didn't know if i would make in, its a very tough competition. I got ready in a haste and went down to have breakfast, but i couldnt feel the peace I usually had while eating breakfast and to ruin it even more, the news also flashed this:
SO ITS A BREAKING NEWS, WE ARE HERE WITH THE VICE CHANCELLOR OF SPRINGFIELD HIGH, THE BEST COLLEGE IN NYC!
"hey, isnt this the highschool you applied in" my mom said while she looked at the tv showing the montage of the highschool
"yes mom, right now listen"I said with all seriousness, paying all attention to the news as my anxiety about my admissions slowly started to take over me
(Back to the news:)
Interviewer: so sir, can you please tell us about your institution and what all changes are introduced this year!
VC: yes of course, firstly thank you very much for having me, as everyone knows, its very tough to get into SPRINGFIELD, we produce leaders! So this year, we have introduced various changes for the better!
Firstly, the results will be announced today and after that all the selected students will have a GD(group discussion) followed by an interview round.
After getting selected in the interview, we have a highschool 5 year program for these students, where we groom them into leaders, this includes everything. Further more, this everything will be disclosed only to students in their opening ceremony

Interviewer: well yes , this was the first hand information from VC of SPRINGFIELD HIGH, which has always remained number one and has always been the one to receive the highest admission forms. All the best to everyone who applied. Moving further...
"Not gonna lie to you aashna but after seeing this, its gonna be tough, but i know you will ace it"she said as she kept a hand on my shoulder
It got me nervous and worried! Afterall it was going to be tough
"what if i dont mom? What if i fail?" I said trying to share the feeling i was going through
"you wouldn't trust me. Would you!" She said and i sighed "i know after some time you will shout Mom i made it!" She said and laughed as she went to the kitchen with the plates
I smiled when she said it, i couldn't give her the stress as well, which i was feeling internally. She made me feel a little better though.
I quickly finished my food and prayed to god to get my admission!!!
Hours later
I didn't even realise when i fell asleep ,i woke up as i got a call from my best friend Neil:
Me: hello
Neil: hey, you are still sleeping?
Me: ahh...noo, you say whats up!
Neil: dude! Results are out
Me: oh fuck,how could i forget? How is yours!
Neil: i toh made it
Me: ohh woww, i am soo glad for you
Neil: you check yours ASAP and we will party together
Me: neil, listen na! Can you come over, i am too afraid to check it by myself
Phone cuts!
Neil: (standing at the door of my room) HERE I AM.
I was shocked. I couldn't believe it, okay okay first let me tell you guys who he is. Neil is my best friend since we were kids, we grew up together and went to the same school and we have seen each others ups and downs. So yaa, this was Neil, my bestie and i am glad he made it
Anyways back to the present. I hugged him very tight!
"thank you so much you came here yaa" i said while still hugging him
"anytime, now open your laptop and check." He reminded me and i parted the hug as my heart pounded harder
He made me sit on my bed, while he went to my desk to grab my laptop.I crossed my fingers hoping everything was going to go well.
but what if it doesn't? I spent my entire life dreaming to get in here.
I guess the tension was visible on my face. Neil came near and sat next to me as held my hand
"i know you, don't worry, it's all gonna be okay!" he said boosting up my moral
His words gave me the comfort I needed. With my shivering fingers I typed in my ID and password and logged into the site!
Those few moments where the site was loading my result, i closed my eyes and held Niel's hand very tightly, i couldn't even try to open my eyes to check for myself until Neil screamed "BRO U MADE IT".
I opened my eyes and saw the screen said " CONGRATULATIONS" it was true, i wasn't dreaming!
"Oh my fucking god yesss" I screamed and the tears of joy rolled down my cheeks, i hugged Neil. He wiped my tears
"why are u crying? Lets celebrate, we only have a month and then our lives will be changed forever" he said and i smiled and closed my laptop and cleaned my bed
I looked at him and smiled. He was such a kid, always happy and excited for everything. He kept blabbering about what all we had to do and I just nodded in agreement to what he said.
Me and Neil had a booked a house near SPRINGFIELD and decided to move in together and i am glad that we made our dreams come true. I informed everyone, by calls or by texts and my insta stories. By that time, Neil turned on the TV
In the news:
Reporter: hello and welcome back, we are glad to announce that the results of SPRINGFIELD HIGH have been declared, I believe it was the most awaited moment for all of us. The VC would soon join us to share the news of who topped their courses and which students are to be expected. Stay tuned while we connect with the VC, lets show you the headlines
Meanwhile, while Neil watched all of this with all curiosity, I got some pasta that mom made before she went to her office for the urgent meeting.
I video called mom and told her about the great news, exactly as she predicted! Just as i saw her face, i screamed "mom i made it"
"See i told you, you would make it" she said with a big smile on her face and i nodded. She then hung up and i went back upstairs to my room.
As soon as i bring the pasta inside, the aroma filled the room "i smell that aunty has my favourite PASTAAA" he said as he imitated sniffing like a dog and I couldn't help but laugh.
"Yes yes she left with a note saying thats it for the two kids she is proud of and for their big day and here you go" i said giving him his plate
"so what are you watching on the news" i said as i sat on the bed and blew on some pasta so that they dont burn my tongue
"they are gonna announce toppers of courses" he said and took a direct bite and then jumped as it was hot
"Careful! Its hot"i said and i laughed "such a kiddo you are! You should eat carefully and that topper thing, that's interesting" i said

AUTHORS NOTE:
So hey guys, here is the most requested chapter! I am sorry for keeping you all waiting for along time. The thing was that this chapter demanded different attention, And somewhat while writing this I felt that many of you would not like it, so i sent it to my friends for their opinion and that's why it got kind of delayed
I have tried a sort of experiment so do let me know if you like the chapter and that would make me continue in the same writing style or if you would want me to change it do mention that too!
Also I think you all need a clarification, so here are some of things i have planned
Firstly, I am thinking of keeping the next few chapters that will follow up to have Aashna's POV. Since Sanket would be introduced later in the story. (As they enter and mingle into highschool world)
Secondly, In the story you all might have seen the course toppers are going to be declared in the next chapter, the course toppers is something fictional which I thought of and that is solely on the basis of in which course, which student has the highest percentage of previous school results. Like okay, i explained badly but , i hope you all got it
And lastly, i am thinking of playing a game, i will post a question of the day(QOTD) on every chapter i post and you guys can reply in comments. Cool. So here goes:
QOTD: what is your favourite movie?
Next chapter would be up, after i see the response to this one, so that i know which way to focus on!
PS: what I have written actually sort of happened with me during my college admissions, so it's kind of a depiction of what actually happened with me
