"Oh my God! Felicitaciones querido!" Tita Carmona exclaimed.
Everyone cheered in unison. Para akong mabibingi dahil sa ingay ng mga pinsan ko. Hinalikan din ni Dad ang tuktok ng ulo ko at binulungan ako ng ilang puri.
"Mi... I was hoping that you both should plan for your engagement party! You should be celebrating hija. And it should be grand!"
"We're looking forward for it Tita. Don't worry we'll get into that hopefully." I said and smiled at her.
"Of course! You know that I've got all the names of those fine designers and wedding planner hija. You can always tell me about it!"
"Thank you Tita,"
"Mi Camora. You were getting nosy each day!" si Tito Eduardo.
"What are you talking about? I'm helping here Eduardo!" Giit ni tita.
And it's when their fight begins. Nagtawanan na lang kami hanggang sa maramdaman ko ang presensya ni Edmund sa aking likuran. We all stayed in the pool area for the tonight. May mga kilalang champagne at hard liquor akong nakikita sa nakalatag na mesa at kung ano-ano pang pagkain.
I'm a bit surprised dahil talagang pinaghandaan ito ni tita. Sayang lang dahil wala si Rad dito para samahan ako. But I understand.
"Congratulations," Si Edmund.
"Thanks!" I said and smiled at him.
He handed me a glass of drink that I immediately accepted. Ngumisi lang siya sa akin at umiling na parang hindi pa din makapaniwala.
"How does it feels to be engaged?" Aniya at umupo sa kaharap kong upuan.
His parents and my Dad were busy interacting from a far kaya hinayaan ko lang. Panigurado pinagpaplanuhan na nila ang mangyayari sa amin. But I don't mind. I'm getting excited either.
"Subukan mo ng malaman," I teasingly said.
"It's too early for that. You know I don't want to pressure her,"
"Sabagay. But you know what? It felt different having this ring with me." I said as I stared at my hand.
"I felt certain and confident. Dahil alam ko na binigyan ako ng rason ni Rad para ipagkatiwala ang sarili ko sa kanya na makasama siya habang buhay." I sheepishly smiled at the ring.
"It hits different when you got assurance from that one person. Kaya natutuwa ako na binigay niya ito sa akin."
"Yeah. I'm glad you're happy. But you know what makes me nervous right now?" Aniya na nagpakunot ng noo ko.
"What?"
"My speech on your wedding day,"
I let out a heavy laugh at him. Talagang naisip niya pa ito ngayon? My goodness this man. He's more worried about his speech.
"I'm serious Wendy. You know I'm not good at telling those things."
"Gosh. You already think of that? Don't worry. Kahit isang salita lang sabihin mo iiyak pa din ako
" I mockingly said.
"Well at least that would make sense. Standing in front of many people is already an effort Wendy. H'wag kang ano,"
Mas lalo akong natawa dahil sa sinabi niya. He's too elusive sometimes. I don't understand him. Nakakabigla din dahil ang advance na niyang mag-isip.
Kinabukasan we went back to the building and talk again about the project. It was declared that we'll be having a little errand just around the City. Kasama ang ACM Management.
We went near the MetLife Building. Since we're finally opening our new compound collaborating with the said management. It was a good advantage since a lot of people were getting interested already. Marami kami na naging conventional offers at mukhang nagustuhan naman nila.
We were be able to have a meeting with the whole team and to the people under the newly built business. Kaya laking tuwa naming binuksan ito kinabukasan.
"Be half of our company is duly honored to have the chance collaborating with the ACM Management." si Tito ng magsalita sa harap.
"With all the hard work of the both team. We would like to congratulate each everyone of you for the success of this current project!"
Pumalakpak kami dahil sa sinabi ni Tito. Tumayo din kami para magbigay ng speech dahil kami naman talaga ang nanguna sa ideyang ito. I said my greetings to all. At ganun din si Edmund. Even Kyline were be able to have her speech in front. Hanggang sa matapos ang buong meeting.
I was so happy na nagawa kong tawagan si Rad para ibalita sa kanya ang nangyari kinagabihan. I was surprised that in just one ring he answered.
"Hey baby... How's my fiancèe doing?" Aniya habang inaayos ang kanyang coat.
He's inside his office. Medyo gumugulo na din ang buhok niya dahil sa trabaho. But he still manage to look handsome even after the stress.
"I'm all good. I'm so happy that we successfully opened our new project with the other team!" I said from the video chat.
"Really? I'm so proud of you baby. I'm sorry dahil wala ako diyan para mag celebrate kasama ka." aniya.
"Ayus lang. I'm just glad that I did my first project well with them," I said biting my lower lip.
"You deserved it anyway. I'm glad you're happy," he sheepishly smiled.
Napakunot noo naman ako sa mukha niya. He's not good at hiding kaya alam kong may problema ito.
"You look stressed. What happened?" I asked.
Nakita ko na sumandal lang siya sa kanyang swivel chair at bumuntong hininga.
"Problems as usual," aniya at hinilamos ang kamay sa mukha.
I bit my lower lip to stop myself from worrying. He looks tired at mukhang mabigat na problema pa ngayon ang kinakaharap niya.
"You can tell me your problems Rad. I just thought that you need someone that could listen." sabi ko.
"Thanks baby. But I don't want you to worry that much. Kaya ko naman." aniya pa at ngumiti.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah I'm sure,"
"Sabi mo eh," ani ko.
"You know what baby..." he huskily said.
He use to call me that this past few days though I'm getting use to it. Hindi ko alam but I'm loving it everytime he say the word 'baby'.
"Bakit?"
"I already had my father's word. We talked about this the past few days and he told me that I'll be taking over the company this month."
Agad nanlaki ang mata ko sa sinabi niya. My goodness.
"What?! Oh my God that's great!" Masaya kong sabi.
Of course I'm happy for him. With all the hard work he deserves it anyway. Palagi niyang sinasabi sa akin noon that he will do his best to maintain his parent's business. Na mas iaangat pa niya ito dahil ito ang tanging pamana sa kanya ng magulang niya.
And I'm glad that he's going to manage the whole company. I know he'll do good at it dahil nakikita ko naman ang pagsisikap niya.
"I'm sure you'll be a great leader Rad. Ikaw pa ba?" I winked at him.
Nakita ko naman na napangisi siya sa ginawa ko.
"Yeah I'll be doing my best don't worry. Thank you baby."
"Always welcome," I said and smiled.
"Still can't wait to marry you," aniya pa dahilan para mamula ako.
"Me too! By the way. Nagtatanong sila tungkol sa engagement party. I can't give on the details since we haven't talk about it yet. What do you think?" I asked.
"Of course we'll celebrate. Do you have a date in mind? Just tell me what my fiancèe wants," aniya pa dahilan para mapairap ako.
"Spoiled. But I'll think about it first. Double celebration din pagtagkataon. We're engaged and you'll be a CEO in just a few days already. I'm proud!" sabi ko at ngumisi.
Narinig ko naman ang mahinang tawa niya.
"Still can't wait to marry you," aniya pa dahilan para mapatawa na din ako.
Natigilan lamang kami ng may narinig akong pagbukas ng pinto sa kabilang linya. I saw Rad diverting his attention to somewhere else as his smile faded. Kaya baka may pumasok.
"I'm sorry for interrupting Mr. Sullivan. But Mr. Rubio is outside and wants to have a word with you," baritonong boses na mukhang sekretarya niya.
"Baby... I need to end this call. I'll just talk to you later alright?" Ani Rad ng bumaling sa akin.
"Okay. Be careful." Sabi ko.
"I love you," aniya pa.
"I love you,"
And that's when our conversation end. Napabuntong hininga ako pagkatapos. I just thought that he's just busy since he'll be having the company on its own way. Kaya masaya ako sa kung anong naabot na niya ngayon. He's nothing but a good leader to everyone. I know that.
Kaya pagkatapos ng ilang araw. I went to call my friends and showed them my ring. Nag video call kaming lahat maliban na lang kay Rad dahil abala na ito ngayon sa trabaho.
"Wala na! May natali na!" Si Miro ng magsalita sa screen.
"Hoy Wendy! Bakit hindi mo sinabi agad? We should celebrate! At hindi ako papayag kapag walang bachelorette party!" Ani Amara.
"I'm sorry. Sasabihin ko naman agad sa inyo. Na delay lang dahil naging busy din pagkatapos." I said.
"Sus. Baka mamaya hindi na ako imbitado diyan ha," dinig kong sabi ni Arkie.
Agad ko siyang inirapan dahil sa sinabi.
"Ikaw pa ba? Baka nga mamaya ikaw na tong kasal ng hindi namin nalalaman! Masyado mo atang kinimkim girlfriend mo diyan." sabi ko pa.
"Hindi naman. Pero parang ganun na nga. But don't worry we're all good. Ikaw unang makakaalam kapag ikakasal na din kami" aniya at kumindat pa.
"Sus. Siguraduhin mo lang!" I said.
"By the way. Congratulations!"
They almost said in unison. Napangisi ako dahil sa mga kabaliwan nila. Kahit sina Neight at Cyver. Tahimik lang pero alam na din pala na engaged na ako dahil kaibigan naman nila si Rad.
They were happy and cheering for me. Mukhang mapaparami ang sponsor ko sa engagement party ah? Wala pa ang kasal pero madami na ang nag v-volunteer ng kung ano-ano. I'm glad they're being like this.
Kaya halos buong gabi ata kaming nag-usap hanggang sa magpaalam na sila. Tanging si Amara na lang ang naiwan kaya nag-usap pa kami ng matagal.
"Sana all engaged na," aniya pa at ngumisi.
"Balikan mo na kasi si Dayle ng ma experience mo," pagbibiro ko.
Until now hindi pa din sila nag-uusap. Talagang pinush ni Amara ang iwasan siya kahit naman ang mainam na gawin ay ang kausapin ito. Maybe she's just too hurt to face him. Kaya ewan ko sa kanilang dalawa.
"As if naman. Edi puntahan niya ako dito! He must make an effort kung gusto niyang makipagbalikan. It only means that he's already giving up kasi kahit anino niya wala akong nakikita. And maybe he's already happy na kasama 'yung malaking boobs na mukhang peke naman!" aniya ng halos manggigil.
I laugh at her words. Talagang pinangigilan pa talaga ang babae. I don't know what do to anymore. Ang hirap nilang paamuhin na dalawa.
Naalala ko bigla 'yung oras na tumawag si Dayle sa akin para kamustahin si Amara. He told me that he still love her. Kaya ginagawa niya ang lahat para matapos na ang kanyang problema. He doesn't want the girl and he's only aiming for my best friend Amara.
Kaya naaawa ako sa kanilang dalawa. They're just waiting for each other. Talagang pinapahamak lang sila ng problema kaya sila nagiging ganito. But I believe that someday.
They might end up with each other. Hopefully.
After a few weeks of being busy at work. Tumawag ulit si Rad sa akin para ibalita na ngayong araw ang take over niya sa kompanya. I was so happy but sad at the same time.
I can't even celebrate it with him dahil wala ako doon para matuklasan ito. But that doesn't change the fact that he's now ruling his family's business.
"I'm so proud of you," I said.
Ngumiti lang siya sa akin at bahagya pang kinagat ang pang-ibabang labi. I wanted to kiss him and hug him so bad now pero wala akong magawa dahil hanggang telepono na lamang kami.
"Can't wait to see you again," sabi ko pa at ngumuso.
I really miss being with him. Gusto ko na lagi na lang siyang nakikita. I'm always craving for his presence. Pero lagi ko na lang sinasabi sa sarili ko na konti na lang.
Makakasama ko na siya habang buhay.
"Let's plan for our wedding already. Dahil talagang itatali na kita." aniya at ngumisi.
Umawang ang labi ko sa sinabi niya.
"Sounds like a threat to me Mr. Sullivan," I smirked.
Humalukipkip siya sa kabilang linya. He's now leaning on his bed at mukhang kakatapos lang din maligo. He did too much today.
"Yeah. Are you threatened?" Panunukso niya din.
"Depende. Sa kung anong klase ang pananali ang gagawin mo sa akin," I bit my lower lip to stop myself from laughing.
"Damn. Stop that," mura niya at bahagyang ginulo ang buhok.
"Bakit? You said it first naman. I just fought back!" Ismid ko.
"You're probably thinking of something else." Dagdag ko pa.
"I am. And that what makes me even more excited I guess," he huskily said.
I felt my body heated from the sudden words he said. Talagang iba ang takbo ng utak nito. But sounds exciting to me either.
"Pervert," bulong ko dahilan para mapatawa siya.
"Just admit it... You miss my touch," aniya pa.
My brows creased. Goodness. The audacity of this man. Talagang ginawa niya pa akong sex addict ha. Kung sa aming dalawa ay halata na siya lang naman tong mas adik.
"Don't worry. I'll turn you into a Sullivan first before we can finally do that as our everyday routine baby..."
Halos mamula ako sa sinabi niya. He just said it right in front of me! My goodness. Ano bang nangyayari sa kanya.
"Ewan ko sa'yo," I said and rolled my eyes. Trying to avoid hid gazes.
But deep inside. I was just composing myself. Just wait for me Sullivan. Wait til I become your wife. I'll just watch you beg for me every night. And that what makes me more excited.
