Jaemin's P.O.V.
Thursday after school, Jaemin had noticed something.
Jeno had seemed slightly off.
Whenever I would ask him what was wrong, he would shake his head and immediately change the subject. I'm starting to get a little worried.
Jeno would also been extremely cautious on whoever I texted, like I was cheating on him or something. I wouldn't ever do such a thing anyways. I love Jeno too much to do so.
This had started happening a day after we had that hang out with his friends. I'm trying to remember if his friends or I had done something wrong to make him like this.
It's been a week and his behavior hasn't really changed much.
I decided to then call Haechan and Mark if I could come over to their place for a bit. They said it was fine so I called a taxi. I grabbed my stuff and headed downstairs.
Jeno was there watching Tv while eating a bowl of fruit. (Ten: eW fRuIt!) I grab my jacket from the rack and slipped on my shoes. Jeno then hears me and looks behind at me.
"Where are you going?" He asked with curious voice. I look at my phone to see the time. [3:17 p.m.] I glance back up at Jeno and respond.
"I-I'm headed over to Haechan and Mark's house. I'll be back before 5!" Jeno looks at his phone to check the time. He sees the time and nods before getting up to give me hug and a kiss on the head.
"Please be safe. Wait, am I allowed to come with you? I want you to be safe, there's too many creeps and thugs that could kidnap you!"
"Jeno! I'll be fine! But if you want, y-you can come with." I didn't want to disappoint him. The whole reason I wanted to go over to Markhyuck's house was because I wanted to talk about Jeno's behavior.
Yet, I can't say no to Jeno about this. He'll plead and plead and I wouldn't be able to say No. I mean it's not a bad thing, he wants to protect me but the whole thing is making think he's doing it as if it's a duty and not a loving action.
I'm starting to have doubts on our relationship.
We soon make it to Markhyuck's after driving for around 15 minutes. Jeno and I get out of the car, parked on the pavement leading to the front door.
Jeno come around the car and walks beside me. He gripped my hand intertwined our fingers. I smile sheepishly, hoping it was the real love Jeno apparently has.
I knock on the door and wait for 1 minutes before-
"Jaeminnie! Jenojam! I'm so happy to see you guys again! Come in bitches~!"
I laugh at Haechan's loud voice. He always knows how to make me smile and laugh in the stupidest ways.
I let go of Jeno's hand to give the shouting boy a comforting hug. "Haechannie~ Hi! I'm happy to see you again as well!" We pull away and the three of us go inside the house.
"Hey guys!" Mark then came around the corner leading to their living room. "oH mAh gAwD MoRk LeE!" I stumble over to give the Canadian male a bear hug. Mark giggles and returns the hug.
"You better be taking care of my haechannie! I won't hesitate to murder your north american ass while you sleep." I keep a straight face but then giggle, smiling widely.
"I-I am sir! I sh-shall keep d-doing my job w-well sir!" Mark salutes while stuttering, scared of my threat towards him. Haechan cackles and gives a side kiss on Mark cheek, causing him to turn red.
Jeno's P.O.V.
I honestly felt jealous when Jaemin kept lowkey ignoring me. He wasn't paying attention to me as much anymore. Yet, I still believe he wasn't doing it on purpose.
Jaemin would still give me soft smiles and kisses on the cheek but would eventually go back to talking with Haechan. I then went to talk to Mark about it.
"Mark-hyung?" Mark glances up from his phone, he was playing a hotel tycoon game.
"Jeno? What's up?"
"I think Jaemin is ignoring me..." My frown was visible on my face. Mark furrows his eyebrows. He looks around the living to make sure we were alone. Haechan and Jaemin had gone upstairs to play games on the switch.
"Well, I dont think Jaemin is trying to ignore you but what I know from Haechan is that you were acting weird in Jaemin's perspective."
"I was acting weird? I-I didn't know..." I was curious on how I was acting unusual. I hadn't done anything to make Jaemin seem that. Right?
"You were acting very protective over Jaemin excessively, almost like it was a duty as his boyfriend." Memories flash back to when I would oftentimes check Jaemin's phone making sure he wasn't texting them.
I'd also remember when whenever him and I were out I would be overly protective. The cautiousness took over me as soon as I recalled the certain text on Jaemin's phone.
I didn't know what that unknown number was intending on doing but I'm paranoid. I can't imagine losing Jaemin. I'd search and search and search just to be with Jaemin for as long as I can.
"I'm protecting him...from...them." Mark was beyond confused. Who was them?
"Jeno, who's them?" I looked up with tears prickling my eyes. Mark then spread his arms, initiating a comforting hug.
"I don't know..." I sobbed into Mark embrace.
"A private number texted Jaemin one night and threatened him. I was angry and wanted to protect my Nana. I guess I was too paranoid assuming they haven't done anything to my baby."
I confessed what had been going on. All my thoughts finally free from my clouded mind. I then heard a soft familiar voice.
"That's why you were doing this?" I unwrap myself from Mark and look at the stairs. Jaemin was there against the railing, with a sad smile on his face.
"Yes baby...I-I was overwhelmed...not realizing I wasn't enough love into protecting you from that mysterious number. I-I just wa-wanted you safe i-in my arms..."
Jaemin couldn't take anymore of my crying and rushed over to shower me with kisses and tight hugs. I finally calmed down with my lover in my arms.
Haechan came down with a smile. Jaemin had told everything on between the two male. Then when Jaemin wasn't looking, he texted Mark.
He knew Jeno would notice Jaemin's absence sooner or later. So when he would talk to Mark about it, Mark would tell him everything Jaemin was feeling. Then bOoM! Problem solved my friends.
Author's P.O.V.
After awhile the nomin couple came back home to their humble abode. The two males headed towards their shared bedroom. Jeno told Jaemin he would shower first.
Jaemin nodded with a smile and kissed the older's lips. Jeno giggled and forwarded to the bathroom, closing the door shut behind him.
Jaemin crashed onto the bed, relaxing for a second before receiving a notification. He unlocked him phone to see the text. Jaemin turned confused.
