S.H.I.E.L.D. Facility
Hours after the brutal mission, Captain America aka Steve Rogers and Titan aka Y/N L/N (who has a bandage around his injured but healing leg) walk through the facility in uniform. Aiming to talk to one man, and we all know who that one is.
"Now when we get in there-" Y/N starts off with Rogers, "lets just EASE our way into a conversation. Remember, CONVERSATION, not CONFRONTATION."
Steve seems to not take much heed to the advice when he simply glances at the teen next to him.
Y/N is the first to open the door, ready to spread just how well he did on their recent mission,
"Uncle Fury! How's my one-eyed pirate doing being stuck behind a desk."
Fury, who is behind leaning his head on his raised arm, turns his chair, "L/N, I presume you're here to tell me how well the mission went..."
"You know me so-" "You just cant stop yourself from lying, can you?" Steve interrupts, causing Y/N to put on a deadpanned look,
After what I just said....
"I didn't lie. Agent Romanoff has a different mission than yours." "Which you didn't feel obliged to share!"
Fury lazily looks up at the irked Captain, "I'm not obliged to do anything...." Nick then glances at Y/N's leg, "Hows the leg kid?"
Y/N looks down, and waves it off as nothing, "Bah, it's fine. Not gonna let a shrapnel injury distract me too much."
"Those hostages could have died, Nick." Rogers sternly adds in, amazed on the inside about how Nick isn't taking this more seriously,
"I sent the greatest soldier in history and potentially the biggest force the world will see to make sure that didn't happen."
Y/N raises his hand to clear something up,
"Question: I assume you are referring to me as the biggest fo-" He stops himself when both men glare at him.
Steve turns his head to put his attention back on Fury, "Soldiers trust each other, that's what makes it an army. Not a bunch of guys, running around shooting guns."
"Last time I trusted someone, I lost an eye." Fury now stands, looking at both agents, "Look, I didn't want either one of you doing anything you weren't comfortable with. Agent Romanoff IS comfortable with everything."
"I usually agree with most of your thinking," Y/N tags in, "but it would've been nice to fill us in on quote on quote "side missions", BUT I won't trip too hard on it. The mission was a success at the end of the day." Mostly because of me...
"It's called compartmentalization." This causes Y/N to widen his eyes, "OOH, that's the big word of the day."
Nick rolls his eye, "Nobody spills the secrets, because nobody knows them all."
"Expect you." Rogers points out. Fury simply backs away from his desk as he takes a deep breath,
"You're wrong about me. I DO share. I'm nice like that."
Nick leads Y/N and Steve through an elevator, with the intent to show them something rather spectacular.
"Insight bay." Fury says as he is the first to walk through, suddenly a computerized female voice sounds off, "Captain Rogers and Agent L/N do not have clearance for Project Insight."
"Director override. Fury, Nicholas J." Fury responds, "Confirmed" The doors then close as all three stand amidst in comfortable silence,
I wasn't given clearance? Now this I gotta check out....
"So.... how'd Y/N look on the field?" Nick asks
"I think I did pretty well. Mvp of the night for sure." Y/N immediately lets out with a smug look
Steve grimaces slightly as he looks down,
"I'm still stuck on as to why we are bringing the kid, especially on missions like this..."
"Well UNSTICK yourself, that so called "kid" as brought us more firepower then 10 men combined."
"So that's what he is to you? Firepower? He should be out, going to college, a-anything to keep him from this."
Y/N scoffs and rolls his eyes at that ridiculous notion.
"Last time I checked, He was pretty enthusiastic about joining SHIELD. I didn't make him join, I just gave.him.options"
"No, you preyed on his inability to let people down. He is just a kid Nick!"
"A kid, with gifts that can better our world. Why not use them?"
Y/N has a bewildered look as he holds his hands up, and looks at the both of them
"Um, last I checked I don't have the power of invisibility. What the hell guys?!"
This causes the "grown-ups" to drop the conversation as the elevator gets quiet again,
"I assume most conversations about me are like this right? Geez...." Y/N rolls his eyes as he picks at his gloved hands, more upset that he lost his spare sword after throwing it at Batroc earlier.
"You know....they used to play music." Rogers lets out as he slowly looks around the confined area, causing Fury to look at the Captain, and Y/N to roll his eyes again.
More stimulating conversation......great.
"Yeah....my grandfather operated one of these things for 40 years. Granddad worked in a nice building. Got good tips. He'd walk home every night, a roll of ones stuffed in his lunch bag. He'd say, "Hi" People would say "Hi" back....."
Y/N interrupts with a yawn as he is mostly thinking about what Natasha is doing right about now....
Fury then picks his story back up,
"Time went on, the neighborhood got rougher. He'd say "Hi." They'd say, "Keep on steppin'." Granddad got to gripping that lunch bag a little tighter...."
Man.....I'm hungry as hell now...
"Did he ever get mugged?" Rogers asks, throughly interested in where story is headed, unlike someone else in the elevator.
Fury laughs slightly, "Every week some punk would say, "What's in the bag?"
"What would he do?" "He'd show them..... bunch of crumple ones, and a loaded .22 Magnum."
Y/N comes out his mind when he looks at what's outside the elevator, "WOOOOOAH....." He gapes as he presses his face against the glass. Fury glances at the distracted teen, "Yeah I know. They're a little bit bigger then a .22."
"This is Project Insight. Three next generation helicarriers synced to a network of targeting satellites." Fury walks both Agents through the corridor
"This is......intense." Y/N observes and absorbs everything around him as he walks alongside Cap,
"Launched from the Lemurian Star." Steve realizes, to which Fury continues his introduction,
"Once we get them in the air, they never need to come down. Continuous sub-orbital flight, courtesy of our new repulsor engines." Fury then points up to a engine above them, which looks similar to Stark's arc reactor, just MASSIVELY bigger.
"Way to go Tony...." Y/N smiles as he looks up at the turbine under the hellicarrier, Fury notices Y/N's smile as he should've known L/N would figure it out.
"Stark had a few suggestions once he got an up-close look at our old turbines." Fury then points up to a row of gun machinery, "These new long-range precision guns can eliminate 1,000 hostile a minute."
"Hn" Y/N lets out as him and Steve look around,
"You better hope this doesn't go into the wrong hands. Even I won't be able to save you guys then."
"Anyway..." Fury continues, "The satellites can read a terrorist's DNA before he steps outside his spider hole. We're gonna neutralize a lot of threats before they even happen."
"Make sure you leave some for me. Don't want me to be too.....bored at my job." Y/N says as he puts his hands on his armors belt.
"I thought the punishment usually came after the crime." Rogers directs towards Fury, not seeing how this is a good idea AT ALL.
"We can't afford to wait that long."
"Who's we?" Fury glances at both soldiers before looking up at the newly created Helicarriers, "After New York, I convinced the World Security Council we needed a quantum surge in threat analysis. For once, we are way ahead of the curve."
Y/N smirks as he feels the luckiest to land employment at a place like this.
"I work 40 floors away and it takes a hijacking for you to visit?" Secretary Alexander Pierce directs at Fury as he walks up to the one-eyed agent.
"Nuclear war would do it, too." They both shake hands, "So," Pierce smiles, "how's my favorite little soldier doing? Heard he did a number on Batroc."
"Agent L/N? Doing fine. Never takes things seriously. But also reliable to get the job done."
"He's our future, Nick. In the coming years, that young man will make S.H.I.E.L.D. the most feared name on Planet Earth. Maybe even beyond."
Fury nods is head in agreement, but apprehensive, as Pierce for a while now, has been too much of a cheerleader in Y/N's corner.
Natasha, with Y/N in the passenger seat with his duffel bag, slowly pulls up to the curb in front of the foster home.
"You did well today out there." Nat says to Y/N as he makes sure he has everything in his bag, he turns to her and smiles,
"Just "well"?"
Nat scoffs, "You did amazing, spectacular, great, and a absolute fabulous job!" She rants on in a mockingly joyful tone,
"That's more like it!" He laughs out as he gets on the car, he closes it shut and ducks his head to look at Romanoff, "see ya later sweetheart!"
"Bye playboy." She then takes off down the streets, her engine glaring in the distance.
He starts to walk towards his door when he suddenly gets a chill down his spine, gathering into his stomach as he grimaces slightly.
He then rushes through his door, luckily not running into any of his siblings, he goes up to his room and as soon as he throws his bag on the bed, his second phone rings. He immediately picks it up.
"Fury?"
"L/N....follow to my location now. I'm...on the move Urgh!" Various gunshots and a clear car chase is heard in the background
"W-what the hell is g-"
"Just MOVE DAMNIT!"
Y/N hangs the phone up, suits up in his stealth armor from the previous mission, (since his original armor is being repaired by Dre), grabs a spare sword and some kunai, and jumps out the window to the backyard.
He looks around rapidly for potential onlookers before walking to a specific spot on the ground. He pulls out a remote key and presses a button, causing the ground to shift and lowers. A motorcycle slowly raises up instead. A sleek black and silver model.
You would think when they came over here to install, Coulson and Hill would make it go up faster
When it finally comes out in the open, Y/N climbs on, puts on his mask illusion and reeves up the engine as he turns to the open streets.
"Time to save the Bosses ass."
Fury is hightailing it against "police officers" as he fires his machine gun inside his heavily damaged SUV.
"Initiate vertical take-off!" He yells to the Car's AI,
"Flight systems damaged."
"Then activate guidance cameras!" He then swifts from the passenger seat to the drivers, causing him immense pain as he hits his shoulder on the side.
"Give me the wheel! And give me an update on Y/N's location!
"Agent L/N's is approximately 2 minutes away."
Y/N's hair blows in the wind as he rides his cycle through the streets ignoring traffic signals as he weaves his way through multiple cars. He eventually spots a car chase up ahead as he speeds up even faster.
"Bingo." He then reaches Fury's SUV and drives alongside it, dodging gunfire in the process.
"WHAT IS GOING ON?!"
"I've been compromised! Get these men off me!" He yells back as he concentrates on the driving. Y/N nods as he takes out 2 kunai, charges them with electricity and throws them into 2 officers in their car, causing them to swerve wildly before crashing into a telephone booth.
Fury is then stuck between multiple cars in a jam as officers come out their cars and fire at Fury's car. Putting even more bullet holes in his vehicle. Nick drives through and pushes cars out his way as he moves along. A certain officer is persistent as he runs alongside a bus covering Fury's SUV and fires through the glass, causing pedestrians to scream in fright as the bullets shatter the glass all over the place.
Y/N notices the trouble his boss is in, as he drives alongside a cop car and slashes the tires of the moving vehicle. He revs up the handle as Fury backs up and hits a officer with the back of his car. L/N then speeds towards a distorted van and uses it as a ramp as he soars through the air.
As if everything is in slowly motion, he looks down at a gun-firing cop, in mid-air on the bike, he does a set of handsigns
Water Style: Water Bullet!
Y/N expels a large quantity of water in the form of a powerful torrent, which slams into the enemy and through a sheet of glass, rendering him unconscious. Y/N grips the handles of his bike as he descends to the ground and swerves around to deal with the others.
As Fury drives through an intersection, a cop car gets to the side of him as an officer pokes out his window as fires. Fury leans back in his seat to avoid the bullets as he drives.
Unbeknownst to him, Y/N speeds between both of them, takes out his sword and while barreling towards the middle of them, he cuts the head off the officer swiftly, causing the head to roll into the street. He speeds slightly ahead as he swerves around towards another cruiser on the other side of Fury.
L/N forwards towards the cruiser as he does another set of handsigns
Earth Style: Earth Core
The ground below the cruiser goes up, causing the car to also be flung in the air. Y/N looks up as the vehicle goes sailing in the air before crashing violently into the street behind them.
"Whew..." Y/N lets out as he drives smoothly next to Fury, who just got through telling his AI to get him off the grid.
"Now, what the hell was that about?" Y/N freezes as he spots a dark figure a few yards away....
Y/N's Sharingan activates as the figure lifts up a weapon and fires a disk towards Fury's vehicle. It slides on the ground before attaching itself to the bottom of the SUV.
"No no N-" The car explodes soon after, lifting the back of Nick's vehicle as it skids across the streets. Y/N, at the last second, moves away from the explosion. But is still pushes him off his cycle and crashes into the side of another car, shattering the glass.
Y/N's vision is hazy as he's on the ground. A loud ringing surrounds his hearing as smoke also hinders his sight.
"Urgh..." He grits his teeth as he uses a car to support himself up. He spots the figure walk towards Fury's car, guessing that he's going to finish the job. Y/N pushes through as his ribs pulse and throb, doing whatever he can to get to his Uncle Fury.
The black-clad hit man approaches the upside down SUV and rips the door off with one hand. He peeps down and sees nothing but a burnt hole on the inside of the van.
Y/N tries his hardest to see what's going on and lets out a small sigh of relief as he realizes Nick escaped. Now it just a matter of getting out of here and f-"
BAM BAM BAM
Y/N widens his eyes as his armor is pierced by bullets. He feels the impact, but thanks to his armor, they don't pierce through. He coughs as he looks up and sees the figure stare back at him.
Y/N breaths heavily as he will even admit: he was frightened as he watches the mystery man turn and walk away through the smoke.
