Mark: "Hey. What are you doing here?" he asks when he sees Sky come into the hospital while holding Hayes in her arms
Sky: "Uh...I wanted to wish Arizona good luck with the surgery. She just seemed really nervous about everything and so...figured it couldn't help." she shrugs
Mark: "That's sweet. Although you already wished her good luck this morning."
Sky: "I did?"
Mark: "Yeah."
Sky: "Oh...well. What's one more time?"
Mark: "Uh huh." he gives her a disbelieving look
Sky: "Okay. So we're just gonna check out how things are going in ER. Heard from April how a case came in."
Mark: "Really?" he stops her from walking away "You're gonna take a baby, a newborn into the ER? With all the blood, germs, and...dying people."
Sky: "Right. Not a good idea." she clicks her teeth
Mark: "Yeah. Come on I'll walk you to your car."
Sky: "Who wants to see daddy." she suddenly says moving to have Mark hold him
Mark: "No that's-hi buddy." he takes a hold of Hayes and watches as Sky drops the diaper bag at his feet
Sky: "Call me when he's hungry." she waves as she hurries down the hall

Owen: "Hey." he greets Sky when he finds her standing at a nurses desk
Sky: "Hi."
Owen: "You're back? You still have a few weeks of maternity leave."
Sky: "Yeah, well I needed to be around other people. Ones who can respond when you talk to them. And Joe said I couldn't bring Hayes into the bar."
Owen: "You were going to bring a baby into a bar?" he gives her a weird look
Sky: "We weren't gonna drink. I just wanted to talk to someone I know."
Owen: "I thought Allessia was out here?"
Sky: "She had to go back home to work."
Owen: "Oh" he nods when his pager goes off "I gotta go. Conjoined twins practice."
Sky: "Have fun." he walks off

Owen: "Practice, practice, practice until it is perfect, people. This is a long, complex procedure with many parts. Therefore many opportunities for error. So we're gonna go over this again. Team leaders, let's get in place." Sky hears as she sits in the gallery with Hayes on her lap
Derek: "All right, green team over here, please."
Arizona: "Let's go, red."
Owen: "We've offered this family every pro bono dollar, every surgical hand, every resource this hospital has. So I'm asking you for every resource that you have. Be sharp, be present, be focused. Dr. Robbins has been caring for these children since the day they were born. They will each get a new life today. Our actions will decide what kind of lives they will be. Let's begin." he pulls back a sheet to reveal

Mark: "Flaps are inset and viable."
Owen: "We are looking at at least 18 hours, so come and go if you need to, hydrate, eat, but be here at least 30 minutes before your procedures."
Arizona: "All right. Next up, general surgery. First we need to establish each baby's blood supply to the shared colon."
Man: "Then we separate the colon, making the first incision-"
Arizona: "I will make the first incision. We'll separate the colon."
Man: "Okay, and now I'm checking the displaced kidneys-"
Arizona: "To make sure they're intact and functioning."
Man: "Uh, that's implied."
Arizona: "I don't care. Say it." she says as the others look at her with raised eyebrows
Man: "Checking the kidneys to make sure they're intact and functioning."
Richard: "Man, she's wound up tight." he whispers to Alex
Alex: "Thought you were off work today."
Richard: "I won't see another one of these in my lifetime. You're doing the flip, right, Karev, with Robbins?"
Alex: "Uh-uh."
Richard: "The flip's a critical part. You ready?"
Alex: "Yes, sir."
Arizona: "You forgot to cauterize. You want this baby to bleed out?"
Man: "Do I...no, I-"
Arizona: "Yeah, I should think not."
Richard: "Look, I know this procedure is her baby, but she keeps nitpicking everybody, she'll destroy their confidence. Don't let her do that to you."
Alex: "Oh, no, sir."
Richard: "Good, because if this flip goes wrong, she's gonna blame you. It'll go on your record, and-and boards coming up...it's not gonna look good."
Arizona: "Did you check the pelvis?"
Man: "I-I..."
Richard: "Glad it's not me."
Arizona: "Okay, it's time to flip them." she calls out to the room
Derek: "Karev, you're up."
Arizona: "Ready?"
Alex: "Yeah."

Arizona: "Karev, you rushed it. You're like two steps ahead of me."
Alex: "No, you over me. Yours over mine, everything's fine. Mine over yours, babies in the morgue. That's how it works."
Arizona: "That's your pneumonic device?"
Owen: "Great. Now Brandi's wounds are exposed, and little Andi's gone without oxygen for a whole minute."
Arizona: "Okay, I...can we start over?"
Owen: "No, there's no time. Let's just finish this practice and try the flip again. Next."
Callie: "Neuro. Ortho."
Derek: "Okay, we will access and separate the conjoined spinal canal."
Callie: "Separate the bony elements of the spine."

Sky: "Oh hey." she greets when Bailey comes into the room and sits next to her
Bailey: "Aren't you still on maternity leave?" she asks looking at Hayes and giving him her hand to play with
Sky: "I hate maternity leave" she groans "Which is...I know there are women in the world who would kill for the privilege of being able to stay at home with their newborn baby and know that they have a job to come back to. I know I should be grateful but I hate it. Mark called me a cow the other day."
Bailey: "He did what now?" she turns to look at her with wide eyes
Sky: "He offered to milk me."
Bailey: "Ok I don't even know what to do with that." she chuckles
Sky: "I have a brilliant mind with no opportunity to use it. So I came to work. I'm not working but I'm at work. Bailey come on, tell-tell me a little bit about work please." she pleads
Bailey: "Okay, I am gonna tell you something about my personal life."
Sky: "I asked for work life."
Bailey: "Dr. Warren. He and I are...involved."
Sky: "Everybody knows that. Hell I even know that and I haven't even been here." she gives her a confused look
Bailey: "Can you not pretend?"
Sky: "Oh, oh, okay" she nods before clearing her throat a little "What. You and Dr. Warren? No way. Since when?" she raises her voice an octave higher making Bailey glare at her
Bailey: "I'm about to operate with him and he wants to discuss personal matters with me. Only I don't want to discuss them with him. Especially not now."
Sky: "Can't you just change anesthelogists?"
Bailey: "He won't let me change?"
Sky: "So...you need a buffer?"
Bailey: "That's it" she turns to face her "Can you do it?"
Sky: "Kind of got my hands full" she motions to Hayes and Bailey sighs "You know there's a whole room full of people just below us." she points to the OR and Bailey quickly stands up before going to get Meredith

Callie: "Spinal separation complete."
Derek: "Okay, I am now prepared to separate them completely."
Arizona: "Wait. Hold on. What about complications? I mean, what if there's a double hemivertebra or a tethered cord?"
Derek: "We will cross that bridge when we come to it."
Owen: "We're done here."
Arizona: "I-I'm sorry. What if we're standing on that bridge right now?"
Owen: "Dr. Robbins, I said-"
Arizona: "No, no, no, no. We haven't even separated them yet. We haven't gone through the post-separation surgeries. There's so much-"
Owen: "Dr. Robbins, stop. We're done practicing. We have practiced our parts not only here in this O.R., but in the shower, on your drive to work. We are ready. We know what to do. Now we just have to do it." they move out of the way so the staff can clear the supplies before they bring in the twins

Owen: "Ladies and gentlemen, present to you Andi and Brandi Edwards. Let's give them new lives, shall we? It's showtime."

Mark: "Raising the skin flap. Avery, you there?"
Jackson: "One step ahead of you."
Mark: "You want to race?"
Arizona: "No, no, no. No racing."
Mark: "That was fun last night. Did you and Mer have a good time? I know Sky and Hayes had a good time."
Derek: "Yeah, we did. You got enough length there for coverage?"
Mark: "Yeah, I'm dissecting from the base to the midline. Did Mer notice how cute Hayes was?"
Derek: "Yeah she did. I believe her words were...he's so cute."
Arizona: "Jackson, slow down."
Mark: "And Zola like Hayes, too?"
Derek: "Yes, she did. Everybody likes Hayes. Anybody else here meet Hayes? Did you like him? Show of hands if you liked him. Ah, you did? You did?" he asks as people in the room chuckle "If you haven't he's right up there." he points to the gallery where Sky is walking back and forth while bouncing Hayes a little in her arms and a few people awe at the sight
Lexie: "I think I'll update the parents."
Arizona: "Hunt, they're clearly racing. No racing."
Mark: "We're not racing."
Arizona: "We have been rehearsing this for months, and now they're gonna jeopardize the patient because-"
Owen: "Robbins, you take care of your team. I'll look at the big picture."
Jackson: "Done."
Mark: "I win" they quickly but carefully stand up from their spot while holding their hands up "And by that, we mean ready for the colon resection. Cafeteria?"
Jackson: "Race you there."
Owen: "General surgery teams, let's go."

Sky: "And now they're separating the colon right now. Making sure that they each have good blood supply" she bounces Hayes as she walks back and forth when she sees Mark standing in the doorway smiling at her "I know he can't understand me but it feels nice to tell him."
Mark: "I wasn't gonna say anything" he holds his hands up in defense before coming into the room "Just wanted to come see him." they sit down in chairs and he brings Hayes into his arms while passing her a snack to eat
Sky: "Thanks."
Mark: "Almost time for his nap. Want me to take him to the daycare? They said they won't mind."
Sky: "No it's okay" she shakes her head "Besides he tends to sleep better next to one of us."
Mark: "You're right about that." he nods before they look down at the OR
Arizona: "Looks like Andi has the bulk of the blood supply to the colon."
Man: "So we'll give her all the colon then?"
Arizona: "And leave Brandi with an ileosotomy? I don't think so. I'll do an ileoproctostomy."
Man: "Maybe they should just share so we don't have to-"
Arizona: "No. We'll do it my way. Check the function of the blood supply to the kidney."
Owen: "Flip's coming up, and I don't want a repeat of this morning's rehearsal."
Alex: "That's what I want to talk to you about. I'm a little nervous about it. We practiced that flip before, and it turned out great. And today...Robbins doesn't trust anybody today."
Owen: "Get to your point, Karev."
Alex: "I just don't want to screw this up. We gotta be the perfect team."
Owen: "And you're not comfortable doing it with her?"
Alex: "She's making everybody uncomfortable."
Owen: "I get it. You don't need to say another word. Who wants to replace Karev on the flip?" he calls out to the room
Alex: "No, that's not what I meant."
Richard: "Uh, I'll do it. Sir."

Arizona: "You sure you can do this?"
Richard: "Disconnect and cap subclavian I.V. s, anesthesiologist holds the E.T. tube, designated circulators and the techs hold the monitors. Yours over mine, babies-"
Arizona: "Don't. Don't. Okay, one...two...three."
Richard: "Easy, easy, easy."
Arizona: "And we're done."
Man: "Whoo-hoo! All right!" they all clap for him and Mark holds Hayes arms out in front of him so he can clap

Meredith: "Excuse me. Excuse me. Excuse me. Okay. Look at this face. Seriously, look at this face." she comes into the gallery and moves over to where Cristina, Alex, April, Jackson, Sky, and Hayes are sitting
Cristina: "Yeah, yeah, yeah, super cute. They're in the spinal cord now."
Meredith: "Bailey spent the last two hours telling me how crappy my life is, but look at this face" she sits next to Sky who tickles Zola's stomach making her chuckle as Hayes is asleep against her chest "Oh, Zola, look. There's your daddy. He's about to repair a myelomeningocele. Can you say myelomeningocele?"
Alex: "What an ass."
April: "Hey, language."
Cristina: "Babies here."
Alex: "He pretends he's all gentle and sad with the Alzie wife at home, dispensing zen wisdom from his half century of being a surgeon. Well, guess what. Yoda down there...biggest shark of 'em all. The guy is dangerous and mean." he motions to Richard
April: "I think what Teddy's doing is mean." she leans over to talk to Cristina
Cristina: "It's fine."
April: "No, it's horrible. It's-it's horrible in there."
Jackson: "You know what else is horrible? Having a dead husband."
April: "No, you know what? You don't know, okay? It's not right. Teddy's O.R., it's like...it's like a morgue."
Alex: "Well, Altman's husband died on Yang's table. Payback's a bitch."
Cristina: "Oh, will you just shut up? It's fine. I can handle it."
Meredith: "Well, it has been two weeks of this. It must be getting to you."
Cristina: "No more than it did yesterday or the day before that or the day before that. It's fine. I'm...I can handle it."
Derek: "Damn it. Spinal dermoid cyst. It's all tangled up in the spinal root."
Callie: "Yeah, there's a lot of scarring in there. I don't see a clean approach."
Arizona: "Well, no, well, you have to take it out because the cyst could become malignant."
Callie: "Yes, we're aware. Thank you."
Derek: "Maybe if I can come in from an angle...like this, but then we risk the contents spilling out-"
Arizona: "Which could cause a chemical meningitis."
Callie: "Dr. Robbins, we've got this" she gives her a pointed look from behind her mask "Okay, what if we stretch the nerve root here?"
Arizona: "Well, that might paralyze Brandi."
Callie: "Yes, Brandi might end up paralyzed. Yeah, no one understands that better than we do, which is why we will be making this decision, okay? Us. Not you. Us. You alright with that?"
Arizona: "Just make sure-" Callie clears her throat in a way to tell her to shut up "You. I...yes, I'm okay with that." she sighs
Derek: "No more talking from anyone in this O.R. We need complete silence from now on."

Derek: "Okay, we're ready for the final cut."
Callie: "All right. Separation complete." everyone around them claps but Derek quickly stops them
Derek: "No, no, no, no, no. Not yet, not yet. We still need to check on the motor function. Let's do...2 milliamps of stimulation on Andi first, please."
Callie: "All right. All right. Let's try Brandi now."
Derek: "2 milliamps of stimulation" they watch as Brandi's leg doesn't move "Let's go up to 3 milliamps, please."
Callie: "Come on, Brandi. Just give us some kind of movement. Anything." after a moment her foot moves making everybody breathe in relief
Derek: "All right. Let's go to 4 milliamps of stimulation. Hey, there you go. All right. Good."
Owen: "Great work, everyone. One step at a time, by the numbers, like we practiced. Let's move."
Derek: "Okay, count of three. One, two three. Two, three. Gently, gently. Nicely done." they transfer Andi onto another bed to take to another OR
Owen: "We've still got a hell of a long way to go. I'll be checking in on you both."

Owen: "How's it going in here, Sloan?"
Mark: "The flap is well-vascularized, has good cap refill, and is covering the defect perfectly. I nailed it. Did Avery nail his?"

Owen: "What's going on, Avery? You should've finished your flap by now." he asks when he comes back into the OR and sees Arizona and Alex working on Brandi
Jackson: "Yet I haven't even started. Why don't you give me a call when you're ready?" he walks out the room
Arizona: "Her kidney's completely necrotic."
Richard: "V-tach."
Arizona: "Okay, push 30 milligrams of calcium. She's already showing signs of renal failure."
Owen: "Her kidney was fine earlier."
Arizona: "Maybe something caused an arterial spasm while we were checking the function of the blood supply. I don't know, but at this point, I don't think it's salvageable."
Alex: "She hasn't had any urine output since she's been in this O.R."

Richard: "Did you clear out the clots?"
Arizona: "Yeah."
Owen: "Were there any adhesions?"
Arizona: "No, the vessels are clear, and yet the kidney is-is dead."
Richard: "What if we tried a bypass graft?"
Sky: "A kidney transplant" she clicks on the speaker as they look up at her "We've got the perfectly matched donor right next door. They used to share all three of those kidneys. There'd be no need for immunosuppressants because they're identical twins."
Owen: "They'd be saving each other."
Arizona: "Okay let's do it."
Sky: "Karev." she nods for him to go and he smiles at her before rushing off
Owen: "Nice save Rivers."

Alex: "How much longer? You need me to scrub in?"
Owen: "Almost there."
Alex: "Well, can you be almost there a little faster?"
Owen: "There. Got it."
Alex: "Thank you. Open the friggin' door."

Alex: "Kidney looks healthy. Are you ready?"
Arizona: "Yeah. Go ahead and scrub in." she nods to him

Arizona: "Why aren't we getting any urine?"
Richard: "There's a kink in the vessels. Papaverine, please."
Arizona: "Hey, why are you doing this and not Karev?" she looks over at where Alex is standing at the side of the table
Richard: "I picked Karev's pocket."
Alex: "You what?" he raises his eyebrows at him
Richard: "Twice in one day, Karev? Honest to God...it was like taking candy from a baby. No, that's not right. It's not fair to the baby" he says making Arizona and some others chuckle "It was easier than taking candy from a baby. At least the baby puts up a bit of a fight. Removing clamp."
Arizona: "Whoo! Ahh! Yes!" she cheers when it works
Richard: "Oh, we got it. We have urine."
Arizona: "The kidney's working."

Nurse: "Aww." they breathe as Hayes coos in one of their arms
Mark: "I would have thought you would have both been gone by now." he comes over to where Sky is standing at the OR board
Sky: "Oh, yeah, you know how it is with a baby. Everybody wants a turn." she points over to the nurses and Hayes
Mark: "Uh, pretty bad MVC in O.R. 3."
Sky: "I saw that." she nods her head
Mark: "Should have seen the intake. It was gnarly."
Sky: "How gnarly?"
Mark: "Uh, about 8, 9."
Sky: "Nice." she breathes and Mark chuckles at her while shaking his head
Mark: "You are bored out of your freaking mind."
Sky: "Oh, my God, I'm so bored" she breathes deeply "And I-I love him. I mean getting to spend all this time with him. And he's our miracle baby."
Mark: "But..."
Sky: "But...all we do is just sit and stare and stare and stare. And he'll make a little face or, like, a little sound at me, and I'm just like dumbstruck with gratitude and joy. Just, like, delighted and amazed. Yeah. But th-then the delight and amazement fades a little when he goes back to sleep. And I stare. I did not know a miracle could be so boring."
Mark: "Why don't you go check out the MVC for yourself?"
Sky: "Really?" she perks up and he kisses her cheek before grabbing the diaper bag from her arm and goes over to the nurses
Mark: "Has everyone had their turn? 'Cause Daddy would like one. Thank you."
Nurse: "So sweet." she smiles as she passes Hayes to him
Mark: "Hey, buddy." he smiles at him and Sky smiles at the sight before rushing off to the OR

When Sky arrives home she walks into the apartment to find Mark sleeping on the couch with Hayes on his chest making her smile. She pulls her phone out to take a picture before grabbing a blanket and lightly draping it over the two as she kisses their heads before going into the bathroom
