"I'm getting so annoyed by my mum," I say while aggressively throwing my water bottle in the trash. Charles just laughs.
"What, why? What did she do?"
"She wants me to have a boyfriend so bad. She tries to tell it like calmly and carefully but it's too prominent. Like she wants it more than I want." I say, looking to my best friend here. I've had a crush on him for the longest time, but I know I'm not his type. I love him, but more as a friend love but I wish it'd grow in something more. But he's the happiest person with Charlotte, and I'm so happy for them. "Like, I'd like a boyfriend, you know, but not now. I'm happy and I don't want that stress of getting to know new people."
"I'll put you on a blind date with Lando if you'd like..." He smiles his cheeky grin to me. He knows. He knows me and Lando have this weird connection somehow. How we're great friends but there's this tension between us, impossible to ignore but I always push him away.
"Ohh Hell no. Let me explain this to you. You remember the hate y'all got with the whole Giada and Charlotte issue thingy, right?" He nods and so I continue with many hand gestures like I always do. "Well, you came in Formula 1 with a girlfriend, Lando didn't. So if he gets a girlfriend now, the girl will get hate worse than Charlotte. Because his teenage fans think they have a chance with him, and they can get mad at that girl for taking that away. Like I've seen some fn accounts... Maybe when he's 30 it'll be less, like with Lewis, but now he's still in the hormone range. You know. And by the way, you and Charlotte are endgame."
"So you're saying me and Charlotte came out of it easy?"
"I'm not saying that, stupid." I laugh and give him a playful push on his shoulder whilst still walking. "I'm saying, you're sure about her right?"
"I am. Like I've never been so sure about anything, not even my driving."
"Then propose." He stops walking and for me, it's like a dog suddenly pulls me backwards on a leach in my hand, I stop too. I act normal again and cross my arms. I see this look in his eyes saying: And you say you don't fit with Lando.
"We've not been together for so long, just like almost a year I think? Imagine what people will think."
"So what? You sure; you sure. You don't care what people think."
"Says you." He gives me a look again, really making me doubt my whole existence.
"People who gives advice never follows it themselves, f*cks up their lives and that's why their advice is so golden."
"Your advice isn't golden, it's diamond."
"Cheesecake," I say, laughing loudly. He chuckles questioning what I just said.
"Cheesecake?"
"You're cheesy but you got that cake though," I say, referring to his but.
"Oh no, stop. But how will I propose to Charlotte? I don't even have a ring..."
"You don't need to do it now. But pick something like, close to y'all. Like I know she'd love something that symbolises your career or the car, since she also loves formula 1. Be romantic, for once"
"I have an idea, thank you."He says while running the other way. Some farther away he turns around again and screams to me: "Hell, I'm always romantic."
"Don't do anything impulsive," I shout after him when he starts running again. He's really not good in running, I think.
"Never, not with my baby."

"Charles Leclerc won SPA again! Will he win Monza too?" Is sounding through the whole place, everyone is waiting for Charles to step out his car and go run to us. I stand in the front with Charlotte, both almost glowing of pride towards Charles.
"Before I'm doing anything else. Get Charlotte in here." Charles says, they open the gate to flood her in. Charlotte looks at me with questions in her eyes, then it hits me. "You know I'm totally in love with you, right?"
"What is Charles doing?" Max walks over to me, pointing to him. I shrug up my shoulders even though I know the answer fully well but I'll still explain.
"This is all my doing. I was joking yesterday but he's going full in." He just stands next to me on the other side of the fence. Max has to wait for his interview after Charles had his, otherwise, he wouldn't be next to me right now.
"Charles, what are you doing and why is it in English?" Charlotte whispers, but the microphones catch it anyway.
"Because I want the whole world to know, how much I love you."
"I love you too, Charles... But I'm-" He's getting down on one knee, cutting off Charlotte's thoughts.
"Love of my life, I've never been so sure about anything else in my life than you." He pulls out a ring from his suit, it shines like the polestar in a clear night. I see right away what it is. A part of the Ferrari F2004. (Not because he called me about it last night...) But I still wonder how he got it so fast. "Will you please marry me?"
"Si, si. Yes, I will. I do. What is the word?" She looks at me in shock but excitement.
"Si Is fine, Char," I say and smile to her. Somehow ever since Charles introduced us to each other we've been inseparable. Charles puts the ring around her finger and they kiss. Afterwards, she comes over to me in the Ferrari motorhome. "It seems like it belonged to something, but I didn't dare to ask Charles he was so happy about it... What is it?"
"It's a part of the Ferrari F2004."
"No way! How?"
"I don't know, it flew in last night he said."
"When was he planning on proposing to me?"
"I kind of gave him the idea as a joke yesterday after quail...?"
"So it's an impulse? No, he'll regret-"
"Girl, don't even finish that." I shut her up before she could. I shake her up a little. "He loves you, I've never seen him so, so, so sure about anything. Hell, not even so sure about Formula 1."
"You think?"
"I'm positive Char."
"How are my two most favourite ladies?" He wraps his arms around the both of us our shoulders, all to seem oh-so tall.
"Better than ever. I love my Ferrari ring." Literally, for the second time, something hits me. I break away from Charles and start walk out.
"I'm gonna go."
"Do what?" Charlotte's voice makes me turn around and I give them a crooked smile. I walk backwards before answering.
"Make a bad, bad, bad decision." Charles thinks for a moment and then smiles. He knows.

"Lando, I have to tell you something." I run up to him, stopping him from walking wherever he needed to go.
"Sure, shoot?"
"I don't want to care about what people think."
"What do you mean?" He just looks at me confused. I nervously play with my hands, not sure what to say; I've never done this. He was the one to lean in, to make the first move, and I always ran.
"I mean, I don't want to make anyone happy but me, and the guy I love."
"Who's the guy you love? George?" This comment hurt in many ways, making me believe I really fucked up and I'm too late.
"Really, Lando? You're even more stupid than Charles now." I say, making him laugh. He looks back up to me and I can tell from the twinkle in his eyes; I did not fuck up in the slightest. "I'm falling in love with you."
"Good thing I'm falling in love with you too." He takes a step closer to me, his hands close around my waist and pulls me closer. I've never seen this confi-
