lia's pov

"thank you so much for the food!" yeji exclaimed as she stretched her arms out on the air and throwing her back on the chair.

"you mean, thank you so much for the food today, yeji." i told her. "after a very long and tiring day, it's so refreshing to taste a fresh coffee again on the middle of this day." i said as i took my shoulder bag. i glanced at my watch and realized that it was now already past 7PM on the evening, and there were now less people inside the café.

"shoot," yeji said as she quickly searched for her phone inside her bag. "mom's gonna kill me." she said as she hurriedly clicked her phone open and dialed a number and fished her phone infront of her ear, impatiently waiting for an answer.

"what's wrong?" i asked her.

"i literally forgot that my aunt is coming over at our house and we'll be having our dinner together." yeji said while stomping her feet on the ground. "i just hope that our dinner isn't finished yet so that i can follow."

i looked at her as she talked to her mom through her phone and i glanced at the glass window infront of us. i noticed that there were small raindrops hitting the glass until more and more raindrops are skiing down the window.

"it's raining." i mumbled to myself.

"lia," yeji said and i quickly turned around to her. "i need to catch up. mom told me that i should hurry up before my aunt would leave. i really need to go now." she pleaded as she fixed her ponytail. i watched her move fast before nodding at her and saying, "sure. you can go first. i'll get going right after you."

"thank youu~" yeji said. "i'll make sure that we'll go home together the next day. i love you!" she spoke before quickly running out from the café and rushing out on the heavy rain.

right when yeji's shadow is no longer seen anymore, i stepped out on the café and the cold wave of rain welcomed me outside with the chilly rush of wind covering up my entire body like a blanket.

i looked up at the gloomy sky breathing heavily with the small fog being visible coming out of my mouth which means that it really is cold out here. i quickly fished both of my hands inside the pocket of my uniform trying my best to warm myself up.

while watching over the city lights, i heard a quick ding! at the back which means the café is already now closed. well, mostly shops and resto's around here are closed around this time.

"enjoying the view?"

i heard a familiar and soft-like voice speak beside me. i slowly tilted my head to see who it was and saw her again, but this time, we're both now outside the café.

"it's so cold out here," she said as she crossed her arms and her entire face is almost being swallowed by her purple hoodie. "how can you stand here outside in this cold?" she spoke and it is obviously heard that she's freezing with her tone.

i looked at her in wonder as the streetlights' hit her full face revealing her smooth and glass-like skin, her cheeks being red as a rose and her eyes still shining at the night sky.

"it's nothing," i spoke. "i just enjoy watching the night view here. i'm actually more of a night person, that's why." i said while swaying my right foot.

"i see." ryujin said. "where's your other friend?" she suddenly asked out of nowhere breaking the silence between us.

"you mean, yeji?" i said. "she went home early, she has something important to attend."

"ohh," she spoke. "how about you, then?" she suddenly asked as she turned her head to look at me.

"mm?" i said while mumbling and then looked back at her. "me?" i pointed at myself.

"yeah," she said while smiling a little. "when are you heading home? it's getting late now." her voice sounded concerned and she tilted her head while looking at me. the way she tilted her head right now looked so cute, she looked like a baby kitten.

"well, yeah. but it's still raining hard." i said as i pulled out my hand on the rain with the cold water hitting my palm. "i-i don't have an umbrella, so i guess i'll wait here until the rain stops."

i looked down watching the water flow across the street, filling up each and every corner around us. i can also feel my left shoulder getting wet because of the rain blowing across me, and my shoes getting soaked too.

i felt a warm presence going near to me and a soft and light hand above my shoulder. i can smell the fresh cucumber aroma enclosing us together.

"here," she said. i saw her handing her umbrella to me. "you can borrow my umbrella." she handed it closer to me making sure that i'd agree and take her umbrella with me. i looked at her straight in the eyes and i can see that she's really certain on her decision.

"but," i muttered. "what about you? how can you go home? you'll get soaked in the rain too." i told her as i examined her whole body and i was getting worried at her.

she slowly held her purple hoodie as if she's showing it to me like a proud kid showcasing her own toy infront of her friends. "i got my back-up." she said before smiling at me warmly, removing all of my worries and feelings of cold away from me.

"i never brought my purple hoodie with me for nothing." she said jokingly. "mom always told me that wherever i would go, i should always have a back-up with me." she spoke proudly.

i smiled at her before taking a grip on her umbrella and i felt my hand land above her soft and warm hand. i felt a cold rush of blood rise up on my face as i lowkey touched her hand accidentally.

"thank you," i said as i looked at my side being embarrassed trying to hide my reddened face.

"it's nothing," she chuckled. "well, i guess we'll now part ways here. the rain is getting slower now." she said as she looked around checking if the pouring rain has stopped.

"yeah, we should." i said. i slowly faced her and she turned to look at me. we are now both facing each other, waiting for one another's response. i bit my lower lip as i looked at her and realized that she looked way more different now when she wore the purple hoodie causing me to feel butterflies in my stomach.

"w-well, um. thank you for letting me borrow your umbrella." i said. "i'll make sure that i'll give it to you once we meet again here." i slowly nodded at her before smiling.

"yeah, i hope so." she said between her long and heavy breaths, as she fished her hands inside the pockets of her hoodie looking at the city lights while smiling.

my eyes slowly widened upon clearly hearing what she just said. my eyes were still locked onto hers, trying to figure out what she meant.

"does that mean that she's looking forward for us to meet again soon?"

i thought to myself. my heart started to beat on a fast pace, making my breaths become heavy. by that second, the long silence between us made me hear the fast beats of my heart.

"um," i mumbled softly. "i should go. it's getting late." i said as i helplessly looked around the city realizing that it was getting dark. well, the streetlights across the path towards my home are probably still on, i guess.

"we should." she said as she wore the hood on her head covering her silky blue hair. "the rain should have stopped now."

"it did." i said before taking a quick glance at her. "well, thank you for your kind gestures, ryujin. and also, for the silly stories." i giggled while looking at her.

"stop being formal, i'm not a royal here." she said while laughing a little. "you know what, it's nothing. i'll surely remember this moment." she spoke in a low tone as our eyes met each other once again.

"oh," i muttered as i slowly bowed down at her before smiling. "goodbye, ryujin." we smiled at each other and it seemed like forever. eventhough i still want to be with her out here in the night, to know her even more better, i really need to go home now. maybe, time will let us cross our paths once again in the future. i hope.

"goodbye, lia." she said slowly and it was obvious with her tone that she was disappointed all of a sudden.

i slowly turned around and gently opened the umbrella revealing a light blue color with little glitters on it. i scanned the entire umbrella thinking, my favorite color? is it a coincidence?

"well aren't you even a girly person, ryujin." i said before chuckling. i heard her giggles behind me and it was enough to make me feel happy. "an umbrella with glittery shimmers, really." i was still laughing upon the sight.

"hey," ryujin said being shy, i can notice her cheeks being rosy red. "my mom bought that for me. it wasn't my choice." we exchanged laughs with each other while still teasing her cute little shiny umbrella.

"okay." i said before calming myself down. "we really need to go now." i spoke before realizing that we aren't even parting ways.

"we should." ryujin said. "goodbye!" she said as she waved her hand above the air. i looked at her as she smiled while waving her hand happily.

"bye." i spoke softly before turning around and started to walk slowly away from her. while walking, my feet just stopped on its own and i saw myself turning around once again to face her one last time and there i saw her one meter away from me still standing from her position. she was still looking at me when i walked far from her, this made my heart skip a beat.

we were there standing one meter away from each other, our eyes then found its way to meet one another transparently looking at each other's souls. i noticed how her lips moved into a smile showing her whisker dimples again, lifting her hand up to me before mouthing, "take care!". eventhough we were still apart, i could hear her soft voice speaking, tingling across my ears.

i smiled back at her and i opened my mouth, whispering, "till we meet again."
i saw how her facial expressions change and how her bright and dark eyes widened a little. after that, she slowly turned around and started to walk away. i watched how her figure move away from our recent direction and i smiled to myself,

"i'll remember this moment too, ryujin."
