First day back at school. I could get through this easy. People would try to talk to me and treat me differently, and I understood that. Nothing has to change. I could do this. Mom and dad were just a phone call away.
"Kid? You have to leave the car eventually. Press could arrive at any second, we were lucky to escape them on the freeway" Happy told me rolling down the car barrier
We were parked near the front entrance of the school and i could already see a few people lingering outside. I wanted to get here early so I could avoid the crowds.
"I know. I'm just mentally preparing myself. Okay. I got this" I told myself and I walked out of the car
So far there was no press surrounding the school and hardly anyone noticed me. Maybe today will be easy. I straightened out my new clothes and I walked straight inside of the school. So far so good.
"That's Peter Stark!" I heard someone shout
I turned and I immediately saw people walking over to me. Of course once people heard that, more people showed up and started to crowd me.
"We had no idea you were Tony Starks son. That must be amazing"
"Are you single?"
"How's it like living with the avengers"
"Hey! Get lost assholes and stop crowding him. Half of y'all didn't even know he existed until last week. So back off!" I heard someone shout, I could recognize that voice anywhere
I saw MJ push through the crowd with Ned at her side. Everyone started moving further away from me, but definitely not far enough. They were all taking pictures and whispering about me.
"Thanks MJ"
"You're welcome. Now hurry up and get your stuff. We need to clear the hallway and go to class"
"Dude this is crazy! Everyone wants to be your friend. You're all anyone can talk about" Ned said excitedly
Well at least one of us is excited. After I shut my locker and started walking through all the students. I tried to ignore their whispers and yelling as they screamed questions at me. Others wanted my autograph, and some wanted to hook up. Like MJ said, nobody really cared about me until they found out who my father was.
Once I walked in class I took my usual seat next to Ned and ignored everyone's staring.
"Good morning class. Let's continue with our work from last week. Remember to fill out your lab results and turn them in at the end of the class" Mr. Scott announced and the class got to work
"Um....Mr. Stark? Can you come up here please?" He asked and the whole class turned and looked at me, but I walked up ignoring their looks
"I know you had to miss a week, but here is the work that you missed. I would like it finished by the end of the week, as well as the lab. You need to come in after school at sometime and complete it"
"Of course Mr.Scott" Once I got my work I immediately went back to my seat and got started
Meanwhile Ned was asking me question after question about what it was like living with Iron Man.
"No, I have never been inside his suits. Dad would never let me. But I do get to work on them" I explained to him
"You just called Tony Stark dad! That's crazy!" This is probably one of the reasons why I didn't tell Ned. He could be a blabber mouth
"Crazy like calling Captain America, uncle Steve or Black Widow, Auntie Nat?" I joked and he looked like he just won the lottery
"Switch lives with me" He asked, but before I could respond, someone passed me a paper
I opened up the paper and it was a note from Emma. She was a girl in my class and she apparently wanted to know if I would go out with her. Sorry Emma but I'm already taken. I looked up and made eye contact with her as she flipped her hair and started waving, but I just shook my head and crumpled up the piece of paper.
"Dude did you just reject Emma Johnson? She is one of the most popular girls in school"
"Yeah I did. Ned they only want to date me cause I'm a Stark. So I'm not interested" I told him
I knew she was probably irritated, but I honestly didn't care. Once class ended I walked to the front of the class and turned in a couple of worksheets that I was able to finish.
"Thank you Mr. Park....I mean Mr. Stark. I'm sorry, it might take me sometime to get used to it" Mr. Scott apologized grabbing the paper from my hands
"No worries"
I walked out of class and headed straight for history, the most boring class ever. As I was walking, a few more people asked me out or started to act like they knew me. This was going to get old fast, and luckily I found a way to distract myself. Texting Wanda always made me feel better.
P: Heyy pretty girl
W: Heyy baby, how's your first day going?
P: Not bad. People suck but I didn't expect anything else. I'm on my way to history, so that should be exciting. How's your day going?
W: Boring. I want you here. Everyone is acting like old people and complaining about political stuff. I miss you 😘
P: I miss you 2. Would ditch if I could. But we can hang out when I get home
W: I look forward to that. Now get off your phone and pay attention in class. It will be over before you know it. <3
P: Alright. Bye <3
I quickly put my phone away and sat down in my seat. Like my first class, people stared at me, and others asked me questions. Hopefully soon, people will get over the whole Peter Stark thing. I was already annoyed.
Later....
Finally I had some freedom. It was finally lunchtime, which was the best part of the day in my opinion. I walked into the cafeteria and sat down at my usual table with Ned and MJ.
"Dude I heard you rejected like 4 girls today. That's pretty awesome" MJ said smiling before starting to write in her sketch book
"Thanks? But yeah....I'm not interested in anyone here. They just want to date me because of my last name"
"Yeah. But dude you are the most popular guy in school. That makes us popular" Ned seemed to care about popularity much more than I did
I just laughed and started to eat my lunch. Mom made my lunch today, which was awesome because she knew about my enhanced metabolism, so she always gave me extra food. She was seriously the best. Meanwhile Ned was asking me more questions about the avengers, but I wasn't really in the mood to answer them.
"You have incoming" I heard Ned whisper, and I looked up to see Flash walking towards me
Just what I needed.
"So Parker....I just wanted to say a few things. Sorry I bullied you all those years. I hope we can be cool now. Truce?" He said reaching his hand out
"We're definitely cool now. I will just completely ignore all the years of beatings and insults I took from you and your friends. I totally forgive you" I just rolled my eyes and continued to eat me lunch
"Awesome! So I've been thinking your house is a great place to have a party?" He asked clearly not understanding that I was being sarcastic
I looked up at him because he was actually being stupid. He didn't actually think I was serious?
"And this is why you're an alternate on the decathlon team. You obviously have no idea what sarcasm is. You actually think Peter will just forgive you like that?" MJ asked him
"I wasn't talking to you loner girl. Come on now Parker. We could just hang out after school and maybe talk about getting me an internship"
"Flash we're not friends and we will probably never be friends. Also my last name is Stark! So just leave me and my friends alone" I told him and he stomped off angrily and started mumbling about how he'll eventually convince me
Only a few more classes to go. Once I was finished with lunch, the day was already passing and school was over. I walked to my locker and put my books away, but of course people didn't leave me alone.
"So Peter Stark?"
"What's your room like?"
"Do you ever train with the avengers?"
I turned around to see people starting to crowd me again. I tried to walk through them but I felt someone starting to tug on my backpack. They kept shouting and yelling. I immediately ran out of the crowd and outside of the school. Thank god Happy was already here.
I ran to his car and jumped in. I closed my eyes and plugged my ears. My senses were going crazy and I could hear my heart beating faster. So I quietly did my breathing exercises hoping to calm myself down.
"Are you alright?" Wanda asked me and nearly jumped out of my skin
"What are you doing here?" I asked her and she started moving her glowing hand to my head
Almost instantly, my senses started to calm down. I felt a soft sensation in my head and I felt much better.
"I had a feeling this would happen, so I asked to come pick you up. I hope you don't mind? I want to hear about your first day and I missed you" I looked over at Happy, who was already rolling up the divider between us
"It was long, but everyone will get over it eventually. Thanks for being here" I opened my arms and she moved in them
This fame thing will take time to get used to, but I could handle it.
