Lexie: "Hi" she comes over to stand next to where Mark is at the nurses desk as he ignores her "I get it. I'm the one who organized a crazy cabal of secret cutter interns. The thing is, I've been advised to seek out sex as a way out of my sad predicament, but I think I would rather just learn today, so...what do you say? You, me..."
Mark: "Why are you talking about sex to me?" he whispers to her "It's inappropriate. I'm your teacher. I have things to teach...double board certified things."
Lexie: "No, that was always...that's what I was talking about, for...for you to teach me medicine. The...the sex was that...that was a joke."
Sky: "Hey." she comes over to the pair
Mark: "Hey." he clears his throat standing up straighter as he looks at her
Sky: "I heard that you're performing a hypopharynx reconstruction today."
Mark: "I'm gonna make a woman speak again."
Sky: "Yeah I read up about it."
Mark: "You read up on my surgery?"
Sky: "I read up about a lot of surgeries. And since I've never seen one done before, mind if I scrub in and watch?" she gives him a sweet smile
Mark: "No problem. I would have you assist but I already promised that position to Dr. Bailey."
Sky: "That's fine. I don't care."
Mark: "Alright. You can join Dr. Grey and me."
Sky: "Dr. Grey who's been banned from the OR?" she asks pointing at Lexie
Mark: "She's on cappuccino duty, which, Dr. Grey, I'm still waiting for."
Lexie: "Right away. Thank you." she walks away as Mark turns and gives Sky a nervous smile
Mark: "Interns, am I right." he awkwardly says as she raises her eyebrows at him in question
Sky: "Okay."
Mark: "I'll be meeting with the patient in a little bit want to come?"
Sky: "Sure."
Mark: "Let's go."

Lexie: "Kathleen Patterson. A laryngectomy five years ago resulted in the loss of her ability to speak. Kathleen's undergone several surgical attempts to restore her voice in the past five years, none have been successful."
Man: "Oh, oh, this time, though, this time, uh, we have a good feeling about this. Right honey?" she holds up a stickey note with the word 'yes' on it as she keeps typing on her laptop
Mark: "As discussed, I'll get the blood supply from your arm and the cartilage...from your..." he trails off when seeing her not paying attention to them
Man: "Uh, Kathleen? Honey? honey. You can talk to me."
Mark: "I'll get the skin and the blood supply from her arm and the cartilage from her nose to construct a makeshift speaking tube, which will bome her new voice box." Bailey: "Now you should be aware there's a chance the procedure might not work."
Mark: "He's clear on that."
Bailey: "I'm just reminding him not to get his hopes up."
Mark: "Any other questions I can answer?"
Man: "Kathleen? Honey?" she holds up one that says 'no' as they all exchange awkward looks between them

Callie: "Oy, okay. So the new intern, Meredith's friend..." she hurries over to Mark as they walk down the hall
Mark: "The psycho with no appendix?"
Callie: "Yeah. We talked. I mean, she came and talked to me, but it was, like...it was more than that, you know? A guy looks at you a certain way, you know, his eyes wander when he talks to you, and bang, you just know. But this whole girl thing, it's so confusing."
Mark: "Well, was there touching?"
Callie: "No."
Mark: "Was there playing with the hair?"
Callie: "No."
Mark: "Was there licking of the lips?"
Callie: "Oh, my god. I made it up. I made it up because I'm lonely and depressed and desperate for attention from the hot new intern."
Mark: "Crazy new intern."
Callie: "Crazy, hot-"
Mark: "No! The hot ones are the ones that cause trouble, the ones that distract you from realizing your true potential. You need to focus on the medicine. Take all that pent up sexual energy you'd waste thinking about hot, young, naked available doctors, and put it back into your genius."
Callie: "Right."
Mark: "Your godliness. Build someone an organ. That's hot."
Callie: "She smiled. Did I mention she smiled?"
Mark: "No hot doctors!" he demands making her groan before walking away

Mark: "And then we'll insert the newly constructed tube in between her trachea and esophagus just...like...that." he shows them a simulation of the surgery
Sky: "So this valve right here flips open when she has air in the trachea-" she bends down leaning closer to him to point at the screen making him take a deep breath
Mark: "You're in my space. Back up. Just back the hell up."
Sky: "What is wrong with you?" she asks as they all look at him in confusion
Mark: "Isn't there something else you could do right now?"
Sky: "Grey...come with me to finish prepping Mrs. Patterson for surgery."
Lexie: "Okay." she says as Sky gives Mark one last confused glance before the two walk out and Bailey watches them before turning to look at Mark
Mark: "She was in my space." he shrugs his shoulders

Sky: "Mind telling me what that was about?" she asks as herself and Mark scrub in for the surgery
Mark: "What are you talking about?"
Sky: "Oh you know...when you freaked out on me earlier. What was that?"
Mark: "You were in my space. I needed it to think and breathe."
Sky: "That's what you're going with? You're sticking with that?"
Mark: "That's what happened."
Sky: "Right. Whatever you say." she squints her eyes at her before going into the OR

Bailey: "Aren't you going to deepithelialize here to connect it to the trachea?"
Mark: "You're a very eager student, Dr. Bailey, very thorough."
Bailey: "Any way I can be of service." she says as Mark turns to glance at Sky who stands on the other side of Bailey

Bailey: "So I suppose you'll use a strip test to confirm flow across the anastomosis?"
Mark: "That can damage the endothelium."
Bailey: "Oh, but don't you need to confirm-"
Mark: "Dr. Bailey, would you rather do Mrs. Patterson's surgery yourself? I can leave."
Bailey: "Dr. Sloan, I w...I wasn't...questioning your surgical skills. I was just trying to learn...something exciting, something new. I mean, these residents are running around fighting tooth and nail for a chance to get to cut off a leg. And...look what you've done here. You've...you've made something where there was nothing, and it's thrilling. I-I was just trying to learn."
Mark: "Thank you, Dr. Bailey" he breathes out "Now would you take the flap veins and join them to the internal jugular, please?" he asks as she looks at him with an excited look on her face
Bailey: "Excuse me." she says to the nurse standing next to her and Sky looks at Mark with a soft look in her eyes

Sadie: "I'm not sorry." she comes over to where Lexie is leaning against a nurses desk after Kathleen's surgery was finished
Lexie: "What?"
Sadie: "For what we did. It was extreme, maybe even stupid, but this program? I mean, you should have been down in that OR. Not up there in the nosebleeds, and I shouldn't be spending my entire day transcribing all of Karev's charts because his handwriting's illegible. I mean, how is that teaching? So they can call me crazy Sadie and God knows what other names, but that doesn't change the fact that this program is broken. I mean, the only time they ever bother with us is if they think they can get us in bed."
Lexie: "That's not true. Dr. Sloan took the time to teach me today, and that was not about sex."
Sadie: "The only reason he was being nice to you was because Dr. Rivers was there."
Lexie: "What are you talking about?"
Sadie: "Oh come on. Don't tell me you haven't noticed how whenever she's around his entire demeanor changes. I mean he looks at her ass every chance he gets. The man might as well have a bucket underneath his mouth for how much he drools over her." she chuckles as she walks away not seeing Sky standing against the wall listening in to them

Mark: "Now I know you're nervous, and it may feel a little strange at first, but just give it a shot." he says as Sky glances at him a few times
Bailey: "You haven't forgotten. Come on. You can do it." Kathleen hesitates before shaking her head and opens up her laptop
Man: "No! No! No more!" he yells out surprising everyone "No more typing! No more post-its! No! Talk to me. Talk to me, damn it! Talk to me!"
Bailey: "Okay, maybe we should give her a little time."
Sky: "Um, sir, maybe you should go, too. Just go for a-a walk or a drive. Just give her some space."
Man: "I've given her five years of space." he storms out the room as Sky looks at him and Kathleen with a soft look on her face

A little while later Sky comes back into Kathleen's room. She walks over to her bed and sits on the edge as she slowly closes her laptop.
Sky: "It's okay. Nobody else is here. It's just me, and I can keep a secret. So you can try. And...and if it doesn't work, it's okay. Just...just try." she encourages her as she takes a deep breathe
Kathleen: "H-" she whispers out a little and Sky gives her and encouraging nod to continue "Hi" she says louder gasping in shock "Hi. Hi" she smiles as her and Sky laugh a little "Hi" she sees her husband come to stand in the doorway making her smile at him "Hi."
Man: "Hi." he smiles at her as Sky gives her hand a squeeze before getting off the bed to give them some privacy.
Kathleen: "Hi." Sky stands in the doorway watching as they hug and laugh as she smiles before walking away

Sky: "Hey Bailey." she stops her in the hallway
Bailey: "Hey. I heard Kathleen talked." She says excitedly
Sky: "Yeah she did." She sighs
Bailey: "You okay?" she asks seeing the look on her face
Sky: "Can I ask you something?"
Bailey: "Sure."
Sky: "Mark...have you noticed him acting differently with me? Like when I'm around?"
Bailey: "Well he's a lot more easy to work with. I don't know if it's because of you or...but, he smiles a lot more when you're near him. I know that for sure. Why?"
Sky: "Just something I heard. Wanted to get your take on it. I'll see you tomorrow."
Bailey: "Okay. See ya." she watches as Sky walks away before going the opposite way and heading home

Sky: "You made her speak. Mrs. Patterson...she said "hi." She spoke. You...you made her speak." she comes into the oncall room where Mark is in
Mark: "Yeah." he breathes out as she looks at him before closing the door and turning to him
Sky: "I'm going to ask you a question and I want you to be honest with your answer."
Mark: "Ok."
Sky: "Do you feel something for me? And not as a friend or collegeau but in a romantic way?" she asks as he stays silent "Because I've heard some things and I've noticed things and also with some of the things you say to me. So..." she moves closer to him "Do you feel something for me?"
Mark: "Sky...we can't do this."
Sky: "We're not doing anything. I'm just asking you a question." she says as he looks at her before breathing out
Mark: "Ah hell" he whispers before pulling her into a kiss. He pushes her against the door as the kiss deepens before he hesitantly pushes away "We shouldn't-"
Sky: "Mark..." she locks the door "Shut up." she pulls him into another kiss as they move over to the bed
