"Listen Darling," the infamous bounty hunter, Cad Band sneered, "Take me to whoever is in charge of this lovely establishment. I'm on a time crunch and don't have time for this."
Placing my hands on my hips, I smirk in annoyance, "You really must be new here, Mr Bounty Hunter. See, I am the owner of this bar."
Pulling his toothpick out of his mouth, he shakes his head, "Must be in the wrong place then, Lil' Lady."
Grabbing his sleeve, I pull him back, causing him to whirl around on one heel, "No, you're in the right place. I heard Cad Bane was the best of the best. If you're interested in a job that'll pay well, follow me."
Cad's hands clasped on both my shoulders, preventing me from heading into the back rooms where my bounty puck was located, "Before we continue this arrangement, I am intrigued to learn if you have the proper funds for whatever I will be risking my neck for."
"I own the most popular bar on all of Coruscant. Of course I have all you want, and more. Just name the price," I snapped back while wiggling out of his tight grip, "Now, I'll take it if you follow me, you're interested."
I didn't look back as I took off, but I could sense the Duros was following me, which I expected. I knew this Bounty Hunter was good, hell, I heard he captured the Senate Building and contained Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker. Not just any Bounty Hunter could do something as reckless without losing a limb,
"Now," Cad Bane started as I shut the heavy door behind us, "What's this job you've been so kind to neglect informing me about thus far?"
"I need you to assassinate Jedi Master Plo-Koon, member of the Jedi Council," I answered without looking him in the eyes, "I understand you've dealt with Jedi successfully in the past, and I have full confidence you'll have no trouble this time."
"May I ask why you need that bug squashed?" he questioned, settling down in the chair I had placed in the corner of the room; placing another toothpick into his mouth.
Clenching my fist, I turn around and nod, "Have you ever lost someone you've cared about? More than anyone else?"
"I don't need to reveal my sob story to you, my dear," he smirked, knowing he found a soft spot in my rough interior, "Just tell me what I need to know, then I'll be on my way."
I growled, pulling another chair up to where I was sitting in front of him, "Plo-Koon was present during Negotiations with Malastare," I began, frowning heavily, "My parents were flying him back to the rest of his council friends, when they ambushed him. He murdered them, and I want revenge."
"You don't look like a Dug," Bane commented, not batting an eye at any of the other aspects of my story, "Why were your parents on Malastare?"
"That's what you pick up on?" I huff under my breath, "They were there because they were hired to be there. They were both Bounty Hunters, hired to do the same job you're being hired to do."
Cad flicked his toothpick across the room and rose from his seat; adjusting his hat on his head, "I expect at least 1 million credits, not to mention the cost of fuel, and I want my weapons taken care of."
He began to walk out, but I quickly threw myself in his direction, "Hey, I'm coming with you!"
"Now why would I risk you dying, and myself not getting paid?" he sneered, pulling himself out of my grasp, "Sorry, Lil' Lady, this is where I draw the line."
I growled and pointed at one of the Trandoshan workers in the shop, "That's Mallus Blackbriar. If I die during this mission, come back and get your reward from him. He's just as reliable as me, and he will give you what you deserve."
The Bounty Hunter rolled his eyes, then proceeded to walk out of my shop, "Come on, then. We need to plan a way to get into the Jedi Temple unnoticed, and then put a bullet through that poor bastard's head."
I smiled at that. Just imagining the look in Plo-Koon's eyes as he knows his life is truly over. When that bullet pierces his skull, and his life flashes before his eyes. I wonder what he will see? I wonder if he will see my parents, and how he took them away from me. I hope he knows what he has done to me, and what I will do to him. He will know true pain, and the Jedi will never recover from this blow,
"How do you want this done... Ms?" he asked,
"(L/N). (Y/N) (L/N)," I answered, liking how he began to pick up on formalities as the Bounty began, "I don't care what you do. Just make sure he's dead, and that I'm there to see it done. Then, you'll get your pay."
Pressing a ruby-red button on his wrist, a platform descended from his obviously-expensive ship, and a little droid flew out,
"Ah, Master! You've returned!" he said cheerfully, but then he turned his attention to me, "Who's this?"
"She's cargo, Todo," he answered simply, "Now make sure she's comfortable. I need to map a way into the Jedi Temple. We're going after a Jedi."
Todo stayed silent, then turned to his Master, who was extending up the stairs to the ship, "You better not strap a bomb to my back this time, or I will never be under your service again."
"Yeah, because you'll be blown up," I chipped in, finding it amusing that this illusive Bounty Hunter always thought of everything; even sacrificing his own droid to get the job done.
Cad smirked at my reply, but he didn't pitch in his own remark. He was obviously trying to focus, so I let him do his work, and I stayed with the annoying Service Droid,
"So, what can you tell me about Cad Bane?" I asked the droid as we both extended up the stairs in unison, "He's obviously a very 'Less talk, more results,' kind of guy."
Todo nodded while shutting the ship door behind us, "Yeah, he's indeed like that. He has a 90% success rate, because he doesn't care what he loses during a job. He's willing to risk it all for a quick buck."
"He's just what I need," I smiled, patting Todo on the head, "I'll make sure he doesn't plant a bomb on you, okay?" I winked, and headed into the cockpit, where the Duros was plotting, "Need help?" I asked, plopping into the seat beside him.
"I left you with the droid for a reason," he grumbled in annoyance while picking up the ship, "So you wouldn't bother me."
"I'm paying you, the least I should be able to do is get to know you," I smiled and watched as we got near the Temple, "So what's the plan?"
Cad went over the plan thoroughly, and essentially, I am going to act as if I am dropping off supplies for the Jedi, which my assistant, Mallus, normally does, but I will tell them he's fallen ill. Todo and Bane will be hiding in a cart that I will be pushing in. We will locate Master Plo, kill him, and before anyone can notice, we will get the hell out of there and celebrate,
"That sounds pretty good to me," I responded, knowing this had many flaws, but it was the best we could work with. Plo-Koon was getting transferred to Florrum tomorrow, so we didn't have time to come up with a better plan, "You have the cart?"
"Right here, Master," Todo called out, referring to me as Master, which made me smile, "I hope it's big enough to fit Master Bane in. He's been gaining some weight lately, and I don't know if this can be pulled off."
Cad shot him a look, and slipped into the box, "You better hope we can, or I'll sell you for spare parts and make the room."
"I'm sure you two will be fine," I smiled, patting Todo on the head, "Now shut up before I shoot both of you. We're getting off the ship."
They did just as I suggested. With Bane's help, the ship's door opened and I could easily get off the ship with my precious cargo. Waltzing up to the door, I shot the Clones a small smile, "Evening, boys. Got some supplies for the Jedi here."
"Where are you from, Ma'am?" they asked nicely while eyeing the cart,
"The Serpent's Kiss. The lower levels of Coruscant," I answered, stopping and leaning on the cart, "You may recognize the Trandoshan, Mallus, who normally does the deliveries. He's fallen ill and I've had to take his place."
The Clone to the left, obviously a Captain of some sort, nodded, "The Serpent's Kiss. I love your ale, Ms. Go on ahead in, but be quick."
I bowed accordingly, and headed in. I felt a tug on my pants, and looked down to see Cad's arm sticking out, "What do you want?" I hissed silently, kicking his fingers back through the grate,
"Take us into that closet over there," he whispered, pointing through the grates over towards a large wooden door.
I did just as he said. As we locked ourselves inside, the Bounty Hunter's head popped out of the box, and he began doing his work,
"So, how'd you know this was a closet and not a doorway to the Youngling's quarters?" I asked, watching as the blue light from the hologram map lit up his already-blue face,
"You must've forgotten that I've been here before, my dear," he replies while looking up, "Plo is in the upper levels of the Temple. We will have to go through the vents."
I pointed at a vent that was above us, and eyed Todo, "Go first, 'kay?" I suggested, earning a sigh from the little droid.
He lit up his frontal flashlight, flew up to the ceiling, and unattached the vent, "It's clear, boss."
With Todo leading the way, Bane and I made our way stealthily through the building. It was unfortunately a tight squeeze, which meant a lot of grazing skin and unsolicited touching for the both of us, but strangely, I didn't mind, and I don't think the Duros minded either. Finally, we reached our destination, but unfortunately, that slime, Master Plo, was talking to a group of Clones. It would be practically impossible to get him from here,
"I'm gonna set up the snipe here," Cad Bane whispered while unpacking a snipe gun that he had on his gun, and setting up the stance, "This will be dangerous since the Clones are here, so once Plo drops, I want you out of here."
I punched his shoulder and shook my head, "Not without you, slimo," I growled, "I would've easily taken up that offer before, sure, but I consider you more than just some lowly Bounty Hunter. I'm not leaving without you."
Bane shrugged and aimed his weapon at the Jedi, "Suit yourself, Lil' Lady," he smiled, patting my inner thigh, before moving his hand to the weapon and pulling the trigger.
Plo-Koon went down like a weight was pulling him. He died instantly, and the Clones didn't know a thing about what happened. The three of us escaped without detection, and we successfully got off of Coruscant without questioning,
"That was probably one of my most successful hunts to date," the Bounty Hunter sneered, gripping my hips to steady me as I sat on his lap, "I reckon you should join my merry little band of misfits."
"I'm not really the Bounty Hunting type," I shrugged, "I've never even killed anyone."
"Neither has Todo here, but he helps, much as I hate to admit it," he grinned, the first real grin I've seen come off him, "You don't have to, but it definitely wouldn't hurt my feelings at all."
I laid a kiss to his forehead and smirked, "I'll think about it, tough guy."
